At daybreak, the sounds of Awang's busy work could be heard in the yard.
He skillfully prepared all the children's meals and made breakfast, and the whole process took less than two quarters of an hour.
Qin Yao was going into the city today, and happened to be going with the children, so they set off together.
When the noise in the kitchen stopped, Qin Yao woke up and knocked on the door of the children's room next door, "Wake up!"
After hearing Dalang's response from inside the room, Qin Yao went to the yard to wash up without any worries. She took a deep breath of the fresh mountain air, and her body was completely awakened. She walked into the main room with a smile and had breakfast comfortably.
The three brothers and sisters of Dalang did not have such a peaceful life. They finished washing up in a hurry, and Si Niang's hair was still loose.
The little girl was holding a hairband in her hand, but the more she fiddled with her hair, the messier it became. Sometimes she really wished she had a bald head.
Qin Yao took the hairband from the little girl with amusement and quickly braided her hair into two pigtails that hung down on both sides of her head like a little goat.
Si Niang reached out and touched it, and asked a little nervously: "Mother, does it look good?"
"It looks good." Qin Yao pointed to the main room, signaling her to go in and have breakfast quickly.
With A Niang's affirmation, Si Niang instantly gained confidence and happily ran into the main room to have breakfast.
Sanlang had finished eating. His two brothers were too busy to take care of him. He ran to Qin Yao with his hair loose and handed her his hair tie in distress. Qin Yao quickly combed his hair into a bun.
After all, Dalang and Erlang are older, so they are already very good at tying their hair. They tie their hair into a bun on the top of their heads and then wrap it with a cloth, and then they become a handsome scholar.
After finishing the packing, Awang helped put the four book boxes at the back of the carriage. The four brothers and sisters looked at the sky and realized it was too late, so they climbed into the carriage.
Awang drove the carriage out of the house, and this busy morning finally had a moment of peace.
Jinbao was already waiting at the door of the house, holding a thin pancake that Zhang had baked for him with two slices of pickled cucumber rolled inside. Jinbao ate while looking towards the north.
Seeing Awang and Qin Yao driving over, he stuffed the remaining bread into his mouth in two big mouthfuls and picked up the book box first.
Jinbao shouted loudly, "Third Aunt!" He skillfully piled the book boxes at the back of the carriage, fastened the leather ropes, trotted to the front door, and jumped onto the shaft as nimbly as a monkey.
Qin Yao opened the door and let him enter the car.
Jin Bao sat down by the door, poked his head out curiously and asked, "Aunt San, are you going to town too?"
Qin Yao nodded, reminded the children to sit down, asked Awang to speed up, and went to the village chief's house to pick up the village chief. The group rushed towards Jinshi Town.
Because if we are any slower, several children will be late for school!
As the carriage drove out of the village, they saw Liu Dafu leading the refugees from Huangque Town to measure the road surface. Qin Yao hurriedly greeted them, and everyone responded in a friendly manner and continued to work.
The village chief held onto the window with both hands, trying to adapt to the speeding carriage of Qin Yao's family. Looking at the five children who had long been accustomed to it, he asked in surprise:
"Da Lang, do you usually run so fast to school?"
Dalang smiled at the village chief embarrassedly and said, "I want to get up earlier every day, but I can't get up that early every day."
Sometimes, I woke up on time, but for some reason, when I looked at the time, I had to rush to school.
Jin Bao also laughed and scratched his head, "I got up this morning and went to the toilet. I thought I would be late and you would have to wait for me for a while, but I didn't expect that I would go out earlier than you."
Erlang looked at Sanlang and said, "It's all because of you. You took so long to get up that you couldn't even put on your clothes properly. I had to help you put them on."
Then he looked at his neatly dressed sister and said, "Look at the fourth lady. She is always the fastest."
Sanlang mumbled to himself, and no one could hear what he said clearly. However, looking at his expression, he looked aggrieved, but dared not speak out.
Whenever Jinbao and Erlang were together, they had endless things to talk about. There were five children in the carriage, and they were talking to each other, and occasionally they would argue. No one would give in to anyone else, and it was so noisy.
They are all her own children, Qin Yao couldn't hide the disgust on her face, not to mention the village chief who was experiencing such "liveliness" for the first time.
The old man asked them several times to lower their voices, but it was of no use.
When they arrived at the town school, all five children got off the bus. The village chief breathed a sigh of relief and asked tentatively, "Yao Niang, you will come to pick them up in the afternoon before returning to the village, right?"
After receiving Qin Yao's affirmative answer, the village chief said excitedly: "When you come back later, you can drop me off in town. I will take another car back by myself. I still have work to do at home, so I won't wait for you."
Qin Yao knew that she was disturbed by the five children, so she smiled embarrassedly and agreed, "Okay, I'm sorry to make you suffer."
The village chief laughed dryly. It was more than just suffering. He felt that his life would be shortened by two years.
Thinking about Qin Yao facing four children every day, I couldn't help but feel admiration for her.
Qin Yao: “.” She really knows how to thank.
It was still early, so the journey to the county town was slower and less bumpy.
Qin Yao hasn't been to the county town for two months. Now most of the refugees have dispersed and the city gates have been reopened, but the inspections in and out of the city are stricter than before.
Fortunately, the village chief had already prepared the pass and other documents, so entering the city was relatively smooth.
Awang did not enter the city, but stayed outside to guard the carriage. Qin Yao and the village chief entered the city and went straight to the county government office.
"Madam! Madam!"
A blue figure suddenly appeared in front and walked towards Qin Yao excitedly.
"Why are you here?" Qin Yao looked at Liu Ji in surprise as he came up to her with a smile on his face. She raised her head to look at the sky. The academy had already started classes, so why was he here instead of being in the academy?
Liu Ji nodded and greeted the village chief, explaining, "I calculated the time, my lady, you are coming today or tomorrow, so I came out to try my luck, and I didn't expect to meet you."
"You're going to do what after meeting me?" Qin Yao glanced at him suspiciously, smiling like a flower, with bright eyes, as if seeing her was such a joyful thing that she wanted to wag her tail again.
With such attentiveness, it was hard for her not to suspect that he had gotten into trouble again.
Liu Ji was struck by her suspicious gaze and sighed helplessly, "My wife, you have been away from the capital for so many days, and we finally get to see each other. Isn't it okay for me to be happy in my heart?"
The village chief cleared his throat, "Ahem!" to show that he was still alive!
Liu Ji was totally unaware and did not show any restraint. He put on a shy smile and tried to hold Qin Yao's arm, but she slapped him away and glared at him. Then he obediently led the two of them to the county government office.
"My dear, I know you want to come to the government to register. I have asked someone to help you take care of it. We can get it done right away when we get there. There is no need to queue." Liu Ji whispered in her ear in a flattering manner.
Qin Yao narrowed her eyes instantly and asked in a dangerous tone, "How serious a crime have you committed? I advise you to confess and try to get leniency!"
