353. Chapter 353 Mother, it hurts

When Qin Yao met Awang who had just come back from herding horses in the yard, she told him, "When you do morning exercises next time, remember to ask your master to join you!"

Although Awang didn't understand why Qin Yao wanted Liu Ji, who had no talent for martial arts, to practice physical training, he still respectfully accepted the offer.

Liu Ji lifted the quilt and looked at his body. He had long arms and legs, was neither fat nor thin, had a slim waist, a round hip, and broad shoulders. He wore a white robe with wide sleeves, which showed the elegance of the Wei and Jin dynasties. He had the slender figure that was most popular among women at that time.

Coupled with his handsome face, he can charm thousands of girls just by standing on the street!

Does he need to practice this specially?

Awang suddenly poked his head in from the window, stared at Liu Ji and said:

"Master, the lady should like strong men. She doesn't like your soft flesh."

The master, who was so frightened by the sudden appearance of a head that he dared not blink, became furious and pulled down the support bar, then slammed the window shut.

He ruthlessly spat out one word: "Get lost!"

Unfortunately, Awang reacted quickly and his head was not clamped. He responded with an "oh", went to the utility room, picked up the hoe, and went to the backyard to weed the vegetable garden.

By mid-afternoon, the grass had been cleared cleanly. I picked a basket of plump white radishes and put them in the kitchen. I thought about the secret recipe for pickled radishes that I had overheard from the women in the village and planned to try it myself.

He didn't have to pick up Dalang and the others from school today. Liu Fei was going to the county town to deliver a stationery gift box, and he had agreed to pick them up on the way back in the afternoon.

But what Awang didn't expect was that when the sun had completely set and it was dark, Liu Fei and the children had not yet returned home.

Awang, who had already pickled the radish, covered the jar, walked out of the kitchen, and stood in the yard in front of the door and watched for a while.

It was getting darker and darker. The workers who had just got off work from the factory had finished the literacy class taught by Liu Qi and left. The scholars who were planning to meet the great scholar also rode away on horseback. No carriage was seen entering the village.

Qin Yao sent the mute and the others away, went to the water tank to scoop water to wash her hands, turned her head and looked into the children's room and the main hall, but did not see any of the familiar figures of the four brothers and sisters.

"Awang, call them home for dinner!" Qin Yao thought that the children stayed at the old house to play, so she ordered Awang who was outside the door.

But unexpectedly, Awang strode in with a sullen face and said, "Madam, they haven't come back yet."

After reporting, he immediately went to the backyard and said, "I'll go over there on horseback to take a look."

Qin Yao's eyebrows jumped. Liu Ji, who was lying in the room, noticed something was wrong. He sat up from the bed, opened the window and asked, "Madam, what happened?"

Qin Yao frowned and said, "Awang said Dalang and the others haven't come back yet."

When Liu Ji saw the dark sky outside, he felt something was wrong. "Should we ask our senior brothers to lend us two people to answer the call?"

Qin Yao waved her hand and said, "I'll go borrow a horse and go take a look with Awang."

I hope the kids were just playing around on the road for too long, or were kept after class by the teacher for making trouble.

Qin Yao's next sentence was directed at Awang. After Awang led out the horse, he left it at the door and galloped towards the Lotus Courtyard, borrowing a horse from the Qi family guards.

Shitou saw him in a hurry and asked, "What happened?"

Awang left a word "nothing" and rode his horse into the night.

When he reached the river, Qin Yao had just put on a bow and arrow, lit a torch and came to the bridge.

The two men met up and rode their horses towards Jinshi Town, one in front and one behind.

From Liujia Village to Xiahe Village, there was not a single person in sight.

They hurried from Xiahe Village to Jinshi Town. Halfway through the journey, they suddenly heard the sound of wheels rolling. Qin Yao immediately shouted into the darkness:

"Da Lang!"

There was a pause on the other side, and then several voices came: "Mother!"

"Third Aunt!"

It was Jinbao's cry of joy and tears.

In just a few breaths, Qin Yao and Awang had arrived in front of the carriage. The light from the torches illuminated four gray little faces.

There was also Dalang's blood-spattered and shattered face.

He was holding the small dagger that Qin Yao had given him in his left hand. He was holding the reins with his right hand and urgently stopped the disobedient horse.

"Da Lang!" Qin Yao took a deep breath and quickly jumped off the horse and went to the carriage.

Erlang, Sanlang and Si Niang immediately rushed towards her, and finding the safe embrace, Sanlang burst into tears.

Si Niang raised her little hand and quickly wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, then immediately pulled Qin Yao to see Liu Fei, who was seriously injured and unconscious on the car.

Awang took a quick look and told Qin Yao that Liu Fei was not in danger of death. He was probably hit on the head and fell into a brief coma.

Dalang seemed to have just reacted. He loosened the reins, knelt on the shaft of the cart, and stretched out his hand towards Qin Yao.

Qin Yao immediately held it. The little hand was stained with sticky blood. Qin Yao quickly checked it and saw that there were only two or three shallow cuts. It was nothing serious. She took the obviously frightened little guy into her arms.

The boy at this moment clearly needed a reassuring embrace. Qin Yao signaled Awang to go forward and find out what happened, and gently comforted Dalang in her arms:

"It's okay. You did a great job protecting your brothers and sisters. Leave the rest to us adults. Don't be afraid. I'm here."

The young boy in her arms nodded gently, greedily breathing in the reassuring scent from her body. After a moment, he withdrew from her arms, gritted his teeth and whispered, "Mom, it hurts."

Qin Yao looked at Dalang in surprise. The young boy was sweating coldly from the pain. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth to endure it. The word "mother" was uttered completely unconsciously.

She quickly tore off her inner garment and asked Erlang, "Where's the kettle?"

Erlang and Jinbao quickly took off the bamboo tubes on their shoulders and handed them over. Si Niang tried her best to raise the torch high so that Qin Yao could see her brother's injuries clearly.

Qin Yao looked at Da Lang, "If it hurts, just scream. I need to wash the stains on your wound before I can bandage it."

Dalang responded with a "hmm". He hadn't noticed that he was cut by his own dagger just now. It was only when the firelight shone on him that he saw his bloody left hand.

Sanlang asked worriedly: "Mother, will my brother bleed to death? Wuuuuu, I don't want my brother to die."

Qin Yao comforted him: "No, this little blood won't kill anyone."

Qin Yao sighed helplessly when she found that Dalang could be cut by the weapon in her hand. It seemed that she would have to practice more fiercely in the future.

After a pot of water was poured down, Dalang could no longer hold back and shouted out. Qin Yao's heart twitched twice when she heard it. Her eyes became colder and colder, and her hands quickly completed the simple bandage.

This is the only way to stop the bleeding for now, and I will deal with the rest when I get back.

After taking care of Dalang's injury, Qin Yao went to see Liu Fei again.

There were no obvious injuries on his body. Si Niang explained, "My uncle was hit by a club by those bad guys and fainted immediately."

"Later they wanted to take me and my third brother away. I bit them and kicked the man in the crotch and ran away. My eldest brother, second brother and brother Jinbao tried to grab my third brother, but they beat them several times." (End of this chapter)
