Chapter 538 You Say So
Seeing Liu Ji's intoxicated look, Qin Yao turned her wrist and really wanted to punch him again to sober him up.
Someone seemed to sense danger, and straightened his back and returned to normal, but his pair of affectionate peach blossom eyes looked down at her and asked softly, "Madam, did you come here specially to pick me up?"
Without waiting for her to answer, he raised his slender index finger in front of her, signaling her to shush and not speak.
He muttered to himself: "My dear, you will definitely say no, but I know you must be, otherwise you wouldn't have happened to appear on our way at this time!"
See, she really cares about him!
Qin Yao opened the fingers in front of her eyes and said, "If you say so, then so be it."
Qin Yao came to the Qi family's carriage, and Awang looked at her excitedly, as if he was finally relieved.
Qin Yao knew that he had a lot to say to her, but please don't speak yet.
"Sir, this is Young Master Qi." Qin Yao came to the car window and greeted the master and disciple inside in a friendly manner.
Qi Xianguan nodded happily in response. After all, the two sides had not seen each other for a long time.
Gong Liangliao was still relatively restrained, but it was also obvious that he was quite relaxed.
Qin Yao smiled and said, "Knowing that you will arrive today, I have already cleaned the Lotus Courtyard. I also had the meat, grains and vegetables delivered to the courtyard this morning. When you return to the village, just rest assured."
Gong Liangliao sighed with emotion, and felt relieved when he thought of the comfort of the Lotus Courtyard.
It was important to hurry on the journey, so Qin Yao did not exchange too many pleasantries. She signaled the Qi family team to follow her, returned to her own carriage, and led the way.
Liu Ji was not going back. When Qin Yao got on the carriage, he had already sat on the shaft and left half of the shaft for her.
"My lady, you take a rest, I will drive the cart." With a hearty smile at her, Liu Ji swung the reins, and Lao Huang started to move.
Qi Xianguan and others followed behind, and the group headed towards Liujia Village in a mighty manner.
The closer they got to the village, the more excited Liu Ji became. He asked tentatively, "Madam, are there any surprises waiting for me in the village this time?"
Qin Yao curled her lips, "Indeed, there is one. It's waiting for you at home. It's a big surprise."
Liu Ji's eyes lit up, and he curiously asked, "What's the surprise? Could it be that you have already prepared a banquet for the whole village, and are just waiting for me, a scholar, to come to the table?"
Qin Yao sneered, "You're overthinking it. It's only been a few months since the last big banquet. I think we should keep a low profile this time."
"What's that surprise?" Liu Ji finally sensed something was wrong and asked vigilantly.
Qin Yao tilted her head and smiled at him, "It's okay to tell you. The people from the Mo family came yesterday. The old lady, the old man, and your eldest brother-in-law and his family of three are now in the study waiting for you, the son-in-law, to do things for them."
"What?" The smile on Liu Ji's face disappeared instantly.
Seeing that Qin Yao didn't seem to be lying to scare him, Liu Ji was so nervous that sweat broke out on his forehead. Looking at Qin Yao's smile that didn't reach her eyes, his heart sank.
"Madam, they didn't make you angry, did they?" Liu Ji asked carefully.
Qin Yao shrugged, neither saying to provoke nor to not provoke.
Liu Ji thought to himself, it’s over. If this matter is not handled well, he will have a hard time when he returns home.
"Why are they here?" Liu Ji felt annoyed when he thought of the Mo family. He thought that since he had scolded them out last time, the Mo family would never come again.
"Of course, I'm here for you, my son-in-law who is a juren." Qin Yao, with a bit of gloating in his heart, relayed the three demands of the Mo family to Liu Ji, and then said nothing more.
Liu Ji's eyes widened. "Are they crazy? Who do they think they are? They want to live in my house and eat my food and use my things?"
At this point, perhaps realizing that his words were inaccurate, he hurriedly tried to make amends: "All the things in our house were saved by you with your hard work. If anyone dares to take advantage of you, I, Liu Ji, will never forgive him!"
The Mo family is so shameless. They said all kinds of nasty things to him when they scolded him back then. How can they have the nerve to come to his house and ask for favors from him?
"Madam, you should just beat them out!" Liu Ji said gloomily.
Qin Yao ignored him. The Mo family came to look for their son-in-law, so it had nothing to do with her.
Besides, what's the point of yelling so loudly now? If he can still maintain this anger when he really meets the Mo family, then he is not called Liu Ji.
"Madam, what are you looking at?" Liu Ji muttered softly.
Qin Yao: "Nothing."
Liu Ji stared at her suspiciously for three seconds, then gave in. He gritted his teeth and secretly planned how to deal with the Mo family.
However, he had never expected that the Mo family would actually kneel down and tell him that they had wronged him in the past.
The group separated at the bridgehead, and Qi Xianguan, Gong Liangliao and others went directly back to Lianyuan to rest.
Awang returned to his own carriage and drove his wife and master home.
The familiar courtyard seems to have changed a little.
The muddy ground that they left was now paved with bluestone slabs. The yard was tidy and clean, and looking at it made people feel open-minded.
Not only that, the yard was expanded to the back mountain, and Song Yu's family of three moved in.
A lot of new furniture was added to the house, the courtyard walls were repainted white, and the thatched roofs of the kitchen and bathroom were replaced with green tiles, making the style of the entire courtyard more unified.
Qin Yao also accepted Yin Le as his apprentice, and he moved into his master's house. Although the yard became bigger, the population also increased accordingly.
After parking the carriage, Qin Yao led Liu Ji and Awang into the courtyard. Li and Yin Le heard the noise and came out to greet them.
"Master!" Yin Le bowed generously and gave Awang a grateful smile.
She knew that if it weren't for Awang's strong recommendation, her master would not have considered taking her in as a disciple so quickly.
Awang nodded slightly and strode towards the vegetable garden in the backyard.
Qin Yao looked at Li with a guilty conscience, and Li had to reassure his wife with her eyes, saying that it was okay, and that a few rows of vegetables had been grown after all.
Liu Ji had no time to care about Qin Yao's new apprentice. He put down his luggage and poked his head towards the backyard. Sure enough, he saw someone from the Mo family in his study. He immediately retracted his head and strode to the main room to get a glass of water to calm himself.
"Master?" Yin Le looked at Qin Yao, pointed to the backyard, and asked whether he still wanted to watch the door.
Qin Yao waved her hand, indicating that she should move Liu Ji's luggage over and leave.
Yin Le understood, picked up the two large boxes on the ground, and went to the study.
After a while, I heard Old Master Mo's excited voice from behind: "Son-in-law is back!"
"Quick! Quick! Come on, Bao'er, go with Grandpa to pay respects to your uncle!"
Hearing the footsteps of the Mo family, Liu Ji subconsciously raised his eyes and glanced at Qin Yao.
Qin Yao retreated to the kitchen door with a cold look on her face, saying, "Let me see how you handle this."
Liu Ji's heart trembled, and then he thought of the Mo family, and anger rose in his heart again.
He had just walked in, and before he had time to warm up his seat, they came to disturb him. They still wanted him to do something for them? Dream on!
