Chapter 641: House Raid

Chapter 641: House Raid

"After all, this is not our own house. We are only staying here temporarily for a while, so we don't need to move the backyard. We will live in the front yard."

Qin Yao had just opened her mouth when she heard two sighs.

Si Niang and Liu Ji looked at each other, and both father and daughter said "Oh" weakly. The attic was hopeless and instantly became as wilted as a frost-bitten eggplant.

But soon Liu Ji became angry again. There were only four rooms in the front yard. Awang had to occupy one room, the three boys had one room, and Si Niang and Yin Le had another room. Then, could he sleep in the same room with his wife?

As for the two rooms where the security guards lived on the left and right sides of the gate, Liu Ji didn't even consider them. The rooms were dark, narrow and small, and no one in the family would be willing to live there.

Under everyone's expectant gaze, Qin Yao arranged: "Si Niang is old now. When conditions permit, I will prepare a separate room for you. For now, sleep in the east wing on the left with your Senior Sister Le."

Si Niang immediately ran happily to Yin Le and held her hand. The two, big and small, looked at each other and were both extremely satisfied with their roommate.

Remembering that there would be someone to help her comb her hair when she got up in the future, Si Niang immediately forgot about the attic and only thought about how to curry favor with her Senior Sister Le.

Qin Yao looked at the three boys at home, "The west wing on the right is bigger, so you three can live together for now. Squeeze together tonight, and I'll go out and buy you two small beds tomorrow, one bed for each of you."

The three brothers Dalang had no objection and lived however A Niang arranged for them to live. They immediately took their luggage and went into the house to pack.

They are all grown up and can sweep the floor and wipe the table by themselves. Qin Yao nodded with relief and looked at Liu Ji, whose eyes were about to cramp, and Awang, who had a blank expression but exuded resistance all over his body.

She pointed at the two of them, and then at the room next to the three brothers of Dalang, "Will you guys stay here for a while?"

No, as soon as the words fell, they both said in unison: "I don't want to sleep with him!"

Awang: "Madam, I will stay in the guard room."

As if she was afraid of being rejected, she immediately picked up her meager luggage and threw it into the small room to the left of the gate. She would rather sleep in the dark and narrow room than live in the same room with the unruly master, for fear that she would be assimilated and contaminated.

Liu Ji: “.”

"Then you can sleep alone in the west wing on the left." Qin Yao made the final decision, without understanding what Liu Ji's twitching eyes meant.

In short, as the head of the family, it makes sense for her to live alone in the best and largest right-hand east wing!

He couldn't live in the attic, nor could he be close to his wife. Liu Ji was so resentful that he was about to overflow.

But life never gave him a chance to breathe. As soon as someone said, "Mom is hungry," he would immediately roll up his sleeves and go to the kitchen to prepare dinner for the whole family.

This job should have been Awang's, but he had gone to the stable in the backyard to feed the horses, so Liu Ji had to do it himself.

On the way to Yongtongfang, Awang saw someone selling vegetables on the roadside and bought a lot. Now it was a bargain for Liu Ji. He had the ingredients and firewood in the woodshed. He lit a fire and quickly prepared five dishes, a soup and a pot of rice. The family of eight had dinner in the empty hall which had been polished to a shine by Yin Le.

After dinner, it was already dark. The neighbors had turned off the lights and gone to sleep. There was silence all around, and only faint sounds of singing and shouting could be heard coming from Jixianfang not far away.

Awang boiled two large pots of water, and everyone simply washed up and went back to their rooms to sleep.

There were no conditions for taking a bath, as there was no bathroom in Qin Feng's house. Bathing was still done in a primitive way, with a bathtub filled with water and then burning incense and bathing every half a month.

After a tiring journey, we finally arrived at our destination. Although there were no comfortable sheets and beddings, the whole family fell into a deep sleep soon after they relaxed.

Qin Yao slept very comfortably and woke up naturally at dawn. She heard a few dogs barking and children being beaten for being naughty.

The familiar hustle and bustle of the city made Qin Yao dazed for a moment, and she thought she was still in Liujia Village.

But soon, Yin Le's voice came from outside the door, bringing Qin Yao's thoughts back to reality.

"Master! Awang and I came back from shopping and brought breakfast for everyone. You should get up and eat it quickly. This is the most famous donkey meat bun in Beijing. It won't taste good if it gets cold!"

Yin Le placed the several baskets of buns he had packed in the living room, turned around and knocked on each door, then went back to the room and woke up Si Niang who was still half asleep.

The little girl was still in a daze and didn't remember where she was. She yawned while getting dressed and putting on her shoes, and asked, "Senior Sister Le, how long will it take us to get to the capital?"

Yin Le laughed and tapped her nose, "We've already arrived in the capital. How come you forgot that we arrived last night?"

Si Niang tilted her head and thought, yes, we arrived in the capital yesterday evening.

"Hurry up and wash up, it's time to eat meat buns. The meat buns recommended by Awang are especially delicious." Yin Le took a basin and went out to fetch water, reminding Si Niang to get dressed quickly, otherwise she would not be able to eat the hot buns.

Many daily necessities in Qin Feng's house were incomplete. Liu Ji searched the front and back courtyards but only found three basins.

One is kept in the kitchen for washing vegetables and dishes, one is used for washing feet, and the remaining one is used for washing face. The whole family shares it.

Yin Le fetched some water and the four children took turns washing themselves.

Liu Ji has always been delicate, unlike Qin Yao, who would bury her face in the bucket, rinse it with water and then shake her head, trying to look cool and unrestrained.

There is a well not far from Yongtongfang. People in the market have to go to the well to fetch water in the morning, but Qin Feng’s family has a well dug, which saves him the trouble.

Liu Ji waited for the kids to finish washing their faces, then he filled a basin with water, rinsed his face with clean water, wiped the water stains on his face gently with a dry towel, brushed his toothbrush carefully with salt, and shaved off the stubble with a razor blade. He looked clean and refreshed, and perfect!

After washing up, the family of six tried the donkey meat buns that Yin Le and Awang highly recommended. They were indeed delicious. Qin Yao ate five of them by herself, and the whole family finished up all the buns that Yin Le brought back.

After filling their stomachs and the sun just coming out, Qin Yao still needed some things in the yard, so she called her family together and prepared to go out to buy some things to familiarize themselves with the new environment before making plans.

Liu Ji was thinking about his teacher and couldn't wait to go out.

The family packed up quickly, with Qin Yao and Liu Ji leading the way, with Dalang and Erlang walking in the middle, and the two younger ones followed behind, each led by Awang and Yinle. The family locked the door and excitedly headed towards the busiest South City.

The capital was huge, and traveling between districts required either a sedan or a car. It would take half an hour to walk from Yongtongfang to Nanshi.

Horses were not allowed to gallop on the main roads in the city, so there were mostly carriages and sedan chairs on the road, and pedestrians had to walk on the side.

All the way to Nanshi, there were more and more people.

Suddenly, several horse-drawn carriages came speeding over, and in order to avoid them, people moved to the sides.

In order not to hurt the children, Awang and Liu Ji quickly put Sanlang and Si Niang on their necks, so that they were not squeezed out by the sudden surge of people.

After the carriage passed, another group of horseback riders rushed out. They were dressed in the same black official uniform and quickly surrounded the mansion in front.

The serious atmosphere caused discussions among the people around and also attracted the attention of Qin Yao's family of eight.

Liu Ji patted his elder brother beside him and asked in a low voice: "Brother, what happened?"

The eldest brother looked experienced and said with a click of his tongue: "They are from the Imperial City Bureau. They are probably here to confiscate the property."

House search?

The family of eight looked at each other. It was their first day in Beijing when they saw their house being ransacked. Was it so exciting?
