Chapter 45 Give Me Your Love

Luo Ning continued digging into the mountainside, but hearing no sound from Wen Xi's side, she pressed her ear against the wall to listen carefully.

"What's wrong?" Lu Xinghe asked.

Luo Ning listened for a while and then said, "Wen Xi seems to have walked away."

"Let's start digging." Lu Xinghe started digging on the other side.

Luo Ning was worried that something might have happened to Wen Xi, but she couldn't go there right now, so she could only speed up her subordinates' work.

On the other side of the rock, Wen Xi had indeed walked away. She stood two or three meters away from Du Lu, looked at the blood on his arm, and slightly opened her mouth: "Now it's just the two of us..."

Sitting on the rock, Du Lu looked up at her. In the dim light of the communicator, she subconsciously bit her lip, as if she was making a difficult decision.

Finally, Wenxi looked at him again and mustered her courage: "Now it's just the two of us, and for...for your safety, I suggest you give me some...your blood now."

She finally mustered the courage to speak, though she stumbled over her words. She was about to lose control of herself. When her appetite overwhelmed her, she would pounce on him just like yesterday. He still had a gun, but he was injured. If she bit him, all that awaited him was death, or a bullet would pierce her skull and kill her forever.

She never intended for anyone to die, nor did she want to die herself.

She wanted to live, to remember certain people and events, and then die when she could no longer remember them.

After she finished speaking, she waited quietly for his response, which might be met with a bullet.

The two were quiet, their breathing audible to each other, but Du Lu didn't react or respond to her. Just when she thought he wouldn't agree, she heard him softly hum in agreement.

She paused for a moment, wondering if she had misheard.

"Come here," he said simply.

She snapped out of her daze and walked up to him.

Du Lu stood up. He was very tall, which made her feel intimidated.

“Hold out your hand,” he said.

Although she didn't know why he did this, she still stretched out her hands in front of him, and then warm blood dripped from his wound into her palms.

She hadn't expected him to give her blood like this, and hurriedly said, "But... you can use a water bottle."

Du Lu snorted coldly and didn't reply. Her hands were small, and blood quickly filled her palms. She scooped up the blood and wolfed it down. As the warm, sweet blood flowed into her stomach, she felt her body finally regain warmth and strength. The beauty brought by human blood was incomparable to that of animal flesh.

She drank the blood from her hand and reached her hand out to him again. It wasn't enough; she needed more, much more.

She looked at him longingly, her breathing becoming rapid: "Give me some more."

Du Lu's face was a little pale. He had already lost blood due to his injury, but looking into her pleading eyes, he still placed his hand above her palm.

Soon, blood filled Wenxi's palm again. She swallowed it mouthful by mouthful, and then reached out her hand to him for the third time, her breathing becoming more rapid.

It was so delicious that she wanted more, and she wasn't satisfied with him giving it to her little by little. The veins on his long neck were clearly visible, and she could hear the sound of blood flowing through them.

She wanted to bite him open, then straddle his body and devour him whole, she even wanted to…

A terrible thought flashed through her mind, but she came to her senses in an instant. She took a step back in fear, her appetite and physical desires almost turning her into the very thing she hated most.

"I'm sorry, I..." She withdrew her hand, "I'm fine now."

She swallowed the remaining taste of blood in her mouth, bit by bit.

"Is it really okay?" Du Lu had already noticed the change in her. He had seen too many aliens in the alien prison and knew them too well. But he never expected that Wen Xi had other thoughts about him just now, because he had always been in control in those matters.

Wenxi nodded, then sat down a little further away from him; she needed to rest for a while to calm herself down.

Du Lu tore off a piece of clothing to bandage the wound to stop the bleeding, then opened the kettle and drank a few sips of water before feeling a little better.

He looked at her, who was far away. She was licking the blood off her hands with her back to him, not wasting a single drop. She thought that he wouldn't notice her if she turned her back to him, but the shadow on the mountain wall betrayed her. He not only knew that she was licking the blood off her fingers, but he also knew that she was sticking out her little tongue and gently rolling his blood into it bit by bit.

He knew even better that her mouth was warm and her throat was narrow and soft.

After doing all this, Wen Xi regained much of her strength. She then turned to look at him and whispered, "Did you bring your knife?"

She was going to use a knife to carve into the mountainside.

Du Lu walked up to her, and Wen Xi instinctively stepped back. The sweet scent emanating from him made her both scared and nervous.

"Are you afraid of me?" Du Lu asked.

Wen Xi turned her head away from him. She wanted to say that she wasn't afraid, that she was a different species, but the words just wouldn't come out.

“You weren’t like this before,” Du Lu said with a half-smile.

Her long, curled eyelashes trembled slightly. In the past, she had only tried to please and cater to him in order to survive.

With a sharp metallic sound, Du Lu pulled out his dagger and handed it to her, then found a sharp stone for himself.

"You should rest. I'll take care of this." Wen Xi didn't intend for him to do any work.

Du Lu weighed the stone in his hand: "Don't worry, even if I only have one hand, I can still break your neck."

He originally meant to tell her not to worry about him, but the words came out differently.

Sure enough, Wenxi moved far away from him again and started chiseling a wall on the other side.

Luo Ning finally heard a sound, and it was two different sounds, so it seemed that Wen Xi had someone helping her.

“Wenxi, who are you with right now?” she asked loudly.

Upon hearing the voice, Wen Xi glanced at Du Lu subconsciously, but ultimately uttered his name: "Du Lu."

Luo Ning paused for a moment, then looked at Lu Xinghe: "Wen Xi and Du Lu are together, how did they run into each other? Isn't Du Lu with Meng Ting?"

Lu Xinghe thought for a moment and replied, "Du Lu and the others' mine tunnel leads to the lower level. Since we encountered him, it means that a section of the upper level has collapsed and connected to the lower level."

Luo Ning also thought so, otherwise it would be too much of a coincidence: "Since Du Lu is there, Meng Ting must be there too. I wonder how Xiao Ruo and the others are doing."

She was a little worried, hoping that Xiao Ruo and Song Pei were both safe and sound. Thinking of this, she quickened her pace. Sweat soaked her clothes, revealing the skin beneath them, and her faint scent lingered in the air.

Lu Xinghe smelled the fragrance of the mountain orchid and secretly glanced at her. She was tying her long hair back up with a strip of cloth, revealing her slender neck, and then fanning herself with her hand, her face covered with fine beads of sweat.

"Have some water." He handed her the water bottle.

"Okay." Luo Ning took the kettle, which was only half full. She took a small sip and didn't even touch the spout.

Seeing her like this, Lu Xinghe knew she was keeping her distance.

Luo Ning returned the kettle to him and continued fanning herself with her hand. The dim light suddenly dimmed, and the communicator's power had completely run out.

The mine was completely dark.

"It's out of power." Lu Xinghe pressed the communicator a few times, but there was no response.

“Then you sit here for a while, I’ll go down to that cave and get some glowing stones,” she said.

“I’ll go with you.” Lu Xinghe stood up.

"Don't go, it's too dark you can't see. Take off your coat and let me put it in the stones."

Lu Xinghe immediately took off his coat, leaving him in only a shirt. Without the constraints of his uniform, the scent of an adult male body wafted into Luo Ning's nostrils.

She liked the scent, but she didn't know when she started liking it. Thinking back, it seemed to be when he held her in his arms in the base to prevent others from seeing her face. That was the first time she clearly smelled his scent.

She grabbed her coat and ran quickly towards the natural cave, nimbly flipped down, and then brought back some shiny stones.

However, when she returned, Lu Xinghe had already fallen asleep against the mountain wall. She tiptoed over and put the stones down, then placed them one by one around the area. Although the pink phosphorescent material gave off a dim light, it was still enough to make out the surroundings.

After she finished doing all this, Lu Xinghe still hadn't woken up. She found it a bit strange, because he shouldn't be sleeping so soundly. Seeing that there were still fine beads of sweat on his forehead, she reached out and touched his forehead and found that his body was burning hot.

He fell ill, and the illness came on very suddenly.

"Lu Xinghe." She nudged his arm.

The young man opened his eyes this time. He saw her beside him and mumbled sleepily, "Sister?"

Luo Ning was stunned for a moment. He only used the word "sister" when the three of them lived together before, and even then, it was only after their relationship became more harmonious. He didn't call her that often, only when she pressed him to the ground and he couldn't get up, and she made him call her "sister" so that he would do it reluctantly.

But now, he suddenly called her that, leaving her bewildered.

Could he be delirious from the fever?

"I'm here. Here, have some water." She opened the water bottle and fed him.

However, he shook his head: "Once it's gone, that's it."

"It's alright, we'll definitely get out. Du Lu and An Xiaoruo are over there, and you still have two team members outside the mine, they'll definitely figure something out," Luo said reassuringly.

But Lu Xinghe still refused: "I don't want to drink water, I want to sleep for a while."

His voice was unusually weak, which reminded Luo Ning of his childhood.

"Okay, you can sleep." Luo Ning covered him with his coat.

Could it be that he caught a cold after taking off his clothes? It's easy to catch a cold when you're sweating profusely and taking off your clothes.

She felt a pang of guilt, wishing she had carried the items back bit by bit herself. Just as she was about to continue chiseling the cave wall, he grabbed her arm.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" she asked worriedly.

But he had already fallen into a deep sleep, his hand still firmly holding hers. Helpless, she could only sit down beside him and keep him company.

Wen Xidu was also working hard. The air on their side wasn't as circulating as on Luo Ning's side. After two hours, she felt stuffy and even more restless. She stopped and clenched her hands to cover the surging heat on her body.

Perhaps she shouldn't have drunk so much blood. After appetite comes desire. She wasn't a strong-willed alien. She was afraid of pain, and the physical torment made her very uncomfortable.

When Du Lu saw her stop, he subconsciously glanced at her. She was kneeling on the ground with her eyes closed. Her originally fair face was now flushed. She seemed very hot, with beads of sweat on the tip of her nose. He assumed she was tired and didn't pay any attention, continuing what he was doing.

Half an hour later, he stopped to rest. To save battery power, he turned off his communicator and leaned against a rock to close his eyes and relax.

After a while, he heard her get up and walk towards him. Although she walked very slowly, she eventually came to his side.

"What, you're hungry so soon?" He thought she wanted his blood again.

However, he did not hear her reply.

Warm lips covered his throat, and two sharp teeth gently bit him, but not hurting him. Seeing that he did not resist, the lips slowly moved downwards, leaving a light trail of water.

"Ah, so it's not about blood, it's about people," Du Lu sneered.

Wenxi's lips paused for a moment; she was also in agony, but in the end, her willpower succumbed to her desire.

She continued towards his waist and abdomen. She knew his preferences and how to easily arouse him. She wanted to end it all quickly.

However, he grabbed her mouth and asked, "Do you know who I am?"

She was stunned for a moment, wondering why he asked this question, just like back in prison when he threatened to cut out her tongue if she couldn't answer his name.

He was very attached to his name.

"Du Lu." She called softly, then entwined her tongue around his fingers. She saw the teeth marks on his hand that she had bitten, and instinctively she kissed the same spot, trying to fill in those deep teeth marks.

However, he withdrew his hand and pressed her head down forcefully with his large hand on the back of her head.

The sounds of water and swallowing rose from the darkness...

Du Lu remained leaning against the rock, his neck tilted back, his hand holding strands of soft, long hair. He felt as if she were a soft vine, binding him little by little, and he couldn't break free. Although he could cut her off with his own hands, he couldn't bear to.

Wenxi finally got her wish. She was pinned against the mountain wall, and the man behind her was like a valiant demon slayer, violently punishing the lust within her body!

What if the child she couldn't sense also disappeared in the process...

She pressed her hand against her lower abdomen, but still couldn't feel any life, nor any pain. All she could feel was Du Lu's horrifying thing moving back and forth.

"Do you like it that much?" Du Lu felt the movement in her hand and thought she was still teasing him.

But only silent tears answered him. He felt it, paused, turned her around and hugged her, and kissed her without thinking...

"You're so useless," he said as he kissed her.

Wenxi stopped crying and began to respond to him and cater to him. Perhaps if she were a little more intense, it would work.

She hugged Du Lu's back tightly, tightening her fingers to avoid scratching him, like a bewildered moth circling a scorching fire, unsure whether to crash into it or fly away.

On the other side, Lu Xinghe was still running a high fever. Luo Ning would touch his forehead from time to time and then give him some water. She didn't know the time, but she felt that three or four hours had passed. Wen Xi seemed to have stopped chiseling the cave wall a long time ago, probably because he was tired and resting.

She tried to push the stone, but it was incredibly heavy. She used all her strength and finally managed to move it.

"Wenxi, the rock has moved! Can you guys help push it over there? I have more space here," she shouted, but Wenxi still didn't respond.

"Wenxi," she called anxiously a few more times.

Finally, there was a response from the other end. Wen Xi's voice came through: "You and Major Lu, move aside a bit. We'll push from this side."

"Okay." Luo Ning helped Lu Xinghe stand to the side, while Wen Xi and Du Lu pushed hard, finally creating a small crack in the stone.

Luo Ning, with her slender body, squeezed through the gap and immediately smelled a strange odor. Wen Xi's face was also flushed, and her eyes were misty, but she didn't think much of it.

With the combined effort of the three, they finally managed to create a gap large enough for Lu Xinghe to pass through, and Luo Ning helped him across.

Du Lu examined Lu Xinghe, then looked at the area on his arm where he had been injured: "High fever caused by infection."

Luo Ning was shocked: "I didn't hurt him, how... how could he be infected?"

“It wasn’t a foreign virus infection; it was because he cut the wound too deep when he gave you blood, and then it got wet,” Du Lu explained.

Luo Ning breathed a sigh of relief. She thought Lu Xinghe was going to become a mutant, which was something she absolutely did not want to see.

But in her memory, such an infection could also kill humans.

The three sat on the ground to rest, preparing to clear the stones on the other side later.

"Where is Mengting?" Luo Ning suddenly remembered that there was another person.

“He was injured when he first entered the cave, so I sent him back first,” Du Lu replied.

Luo Ning smelled blood; she knew Du Lu was injured, but she said nothing.

Wenxi and Du Lu were trapped together for so long, but Du Lu did not get infected with the virus. Either Wenxi controlled her appetite, or Du Lu gave her his blood voluntarily.

Based on her understanding of Wen Xi, it should be the latter, but she didn't know what price Wen Xi had paid for those few mouthfuls of blood.

"Sister." Lu Xinghe called out again, his brows furrowed, his hand instinctively trying to grab something but unable to grasp it.

Luo Ning walked over and took his hand, and Lu Xinghe gradually calmed down.

“His sister sacrificed herself many years ago. I never expected that the siblings had such a good relationship. Even when he was so seriously ill, he was still thinking of her,” Du Lu said.

Luo Ning then realized that he wasn't calling her, but his older sister.

After resting for a while, they went to push the other side of the rocks. This time the rocks were smaller and they were pushed away quickly. Du Lu helped Lu Xinghe up, while Luo Ning and Wen Xi looked for a way ahead. Fortunately, there were fewer rocks on the way ahead, and they walked out of the cave smoothly.

It was already night, and the other two security officers guarding the cave entrance were nowhere to be seen, but their voices could be heard coming from afar.

They walked over quickly and saw An Xiaoruo, Song Pei, and their group of five. Some of them were holding hammers, and some were holding iron bars, as if they were going to smash rocks.

Upon seeing that Luo Ning and Lu Xinghe were still alive, An Xiaoruo immediately broke down in tears, hugging them tightly and sobbing, "I knew you were still alive, I knew I would see you again."

"It's alright, it's alright," Luo Ning said reassuringly.

"Where's Yao Cheng?" Lu Xinghe woke up to An Xiaoruo's crying. Although he still had a high fever, he immediately noticed that someone was missing.

“We haven’t found him yet,” Meng Ting replied softly.

Yao Cheng has disappeared. They searched the mine again, but still found no trace of him. Under these circumstances, he is very likely dead.

The nine people returned to the cabin, each with a solemn expression, especially the younger ones like An Xiaoruo and Meng Ting.

"Go and rest first, we'll look for it again tomorrow," Lu Xinghe instructed, and everyone then returned to their rooms.

Song Pei had already found the radio and was about to send a message to the base, but Lu Xinghe stopped him.

"Don't send it yet. I have a feeling that some of those mutants might still be alive. If we call the base's people again, we'll just fall into their trap," Lu Xinghe said.

"Still alive?" Song Pei asked in confusion.

Lu Xinghe called Du Lu over as well, and then took out a communicator: "This is Yao Cheng's communicator that I just picked up. There is a photo inside. Although it is not clear whether there are any mutants in the photo, Yao Cheng must have deliberately left the communicator for us to find."

Du Lu and Song Pei both looked at it and agreed with Lu Xinghe's statement. Yao Cheng was a very smart person, and his actions must be a hint.

"Are you not telling anyone else because you're afraid of alerting them?" Song Pei asked.

Lu Xinghe nodded: "I don't want them to be afraid, so the three of us should be more vigilant."

Du Lu looked at Lu Xinghe's flushed face due to the high fever and said, "Go and rest. Song Pei and I will be on duty tonight."

Lu Xinghe nodded. After returning to his room, he lay on the bed. The high fever made him weak. In his hazy state, he felt someone approaching, and that person's hand reached out to him.

Reflexively, he grabbed the man's arm with a grappling move and pinned him to the bed.

"It's me." Luo Ning called softly. She originally wanted to touch his forehead to see if his fever had gone down, but she didn't expect him to be so fierce even when he was sick.

When Lu Xinghe saw it was her, he immediately let go of her hand: "Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"I came to see you." Luo Ning said, rubbing her arm, and then handed him a pot of boiled water: "Have some water."

Lu Xinghe picked up his water and drank it slowly. Luo Ning sat down next to him and whispered, "You and your sister have such a good relationship."

"Why are you suddenly bringing up my sister?" Lu Xinghe asked, looking at her.

Luo Ning replied, "When you had a fever before, you kept calling out 'sister, sister'."

Lu Xinghe was stunned for a moment. His older sister had gone to the Red Gate for training a long time, so the siblings rarely had the chance to meet. Later, his sister sacrificed herself, and many years have passed since then. He never expected that he would call for his sister when he was unconscious.

Luo Ning also missed her family. So many years had passed, and the faces of her family members had gradually become blurred. She was a little afraid that she would forget them.

But if she doesn't want to forget, she must first live well, so she will definitely live well.

"You go to sleep, I'm going out now." Luo Ning planned to get a good night's sleep; she was exhausted today.

After Luo Ning left, Lu Xinghe looked at her back and recalled for a while, realizing that when he called her "sister," he wasn't referring to his own sister, but to Luo Ning.

While he was in a deep sleep, he vaguely felt her beside him and recalled some past scenes: she pressed him to the ground, lay on top of him and made him call her sister, otherwise she would not let him get up.

He saw himself shout defiantly in her smiling eyes.

She was older than her back then, but now she still looks twenty, while he is almost twenty-four. He looks older than her.

He still couldn't sleep, so he took out Yao Cheng's communicator again, his intuition telling him that Yao Cheng was still alive.
