Chapter 12 Don't Be So Cruel
Wen Shuang waited uncomfortably until four in the afternoon, then ran to the empty rooftop and dialed the number Fang Su had given her.
It took a long time before someone picked up the phone. The voice on the other end sounded lazy, as if he had just woken up from being drunk, and he said, "Hello."
Wen Shuang briefly introduced herself and then mentioned Fang Su. The other party was silent for a few seconds before reacting, "Hiss... I had a dinner party this afternoon and got drunk. I almost forgot."
Wen Shuang didn't dare to disturb him: "Then you should have a good rest. You will have a chance in the next few days..."
"No, just come now." The other party smiled and said, "I'm going abroad tomorrow and won't be here for a month." Then he gave the address of a restaurant. The two exchanged a few polite words and hung up the phone.
The meeting was scheduled for 5:30 PM, just as Wen Shuang was finishing work at 5:00 PM. He returned to the office beaming with joy. Some people are like that; even when they're unknown, they're still dazzling. Once they're a bit cheerful, they brighten up the surrounding landscape. Cao Nanyu, passing by, couldn't help but stop and stare for a few seconds.
He didn't know whether he had made a mistake or not. The young man who looked innocent and harmless became more and more like a mystery.
Wen Shuang greeted the colleagues around him. It was impolite for a newcomer to be the first to leave the office on his first day at work, but he didn't care about that.
"Hey Wen Shuang, please help me print this document." Someone said in a commanding tone.
Wen Shuang glanced at the other person and whispered, "I'm sorry, I have something to do now. If it's not urgent, please wait until tomorrow. If it's urgent, please come by yourself first." After that, she opened the door and disappeared in a flash.
Zhao Jiaqing frowned, and thought of Fang Su's sweet smile towards this newcomer during the day, and unconsciously clenched his fists.

Wen Shuang took a taxi to the restaurant. The person introduced by Fang Su had already arrived. Not only that, the other party had eaten half of the mess on the table. A young man, about 27 or 28 years old, looked over as soon as the door rang. He was very alert, but his movements were extremely leisurely. His eyes were the same as his temperament, a little loose, but he took a look at Wen Shuang in an instant. The casual tone on the phone suddenly became clear, "Sorry, I'm really hungry, so I ate first." Although he said so, there was no real apology at all.
Wen Shuang wasn't angry. Fang Su had found someone who was definitely not an ordinary person. He came to ask for help. Not only did he not get a hot meal, but he was also given the cold shoulder. "You eat your food. Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity."
Wen Shuang has a humble attitude and always gives people a good first impression. The other party nodded slightly with satisfaction and raised his chin to indicate the seat opposite. Only then did Wen Shuang sit down.
The waiter came in, and Wen Shuang ordered a glass of water. The man opposite was busy cutting his steak. After a moment, he asked, "I have a favor. Fang Su helped me with some resources when I debuted, and I owe her a favor. So, tell me the purpose of your visit."
Wen Shuang said something surprising, "I want you to consider investing in Xinlan Liquor Industry."
The man suddenly raised his head, his eyes a little cold, "Did I hear correctly?"
Wen Shuang was no fool. He knew what was going on, so he got straight to the point. "I know Xinlan is practically on its last legs right now. A single blow could wipe it out of this area. But I understand Xinlan has advantages that other wineries don't have. The domestic wine market hasn't been fully developed yet, and most imported wines are famous foreign wines. The government issued a clear announcement three years ago that it would support domestic winemaking projects and help them build their own brands."
The man scoffed: "What kind of brand is Xinlan?"
"You might not know this." Wen Shuang lowered her head slightly, a non-lethal determination coming over her. "Xinlan's sales and repurchase rate used to be one to one."
The man raised his eyebrows slightly. This number was indeed a little beyond his expectations.
Yu Feng came from a humble background, and even though his business grew bigger and bigger, it was still not enough compared to some century-old brands. When Yu Feng was framed by his original body, Xinlan Liquor Industry was only a little-known company, and had not yet reached its peak, so Lei Wenxu naturally did not know these internal data.
In the general market, especially in the domestic large-scale wine-making industry chain, it is very good to maintain a ratio of three to one. Lei Wenxu has met Yu Feng, and that person is not good at doing data, so the value of one to one is quite high.
"Yu Feng has his own winemaking technology." Wen Shuang continued: "Before, he didn't take off because of a lack of connections and the suppression from his peers. Since the domestic red wine market will eventually open up, why don't you give it a try?"
Lei Wenxu took a sip of tea and stared at Wen Shuang for a while: "Strong data, accurate sales and repurchase rates, organize these evidence and show them to me."
One of the important reasons why Lei Wenxu was able to kill his two older brothers and inherit the business at this age was that he never looked down on anyone, no matter how small the person was.
"Okay!" Wen Shuang stood up and bowed deeply: "Thank you for giving me this opportunity!"
"Oh, who did I think it was?"
Immediately afterwards, the door of the private room was opened, and a joking voice was heard. Li Junshan stared at Wen Shuang with cold eyes.
Wen Shuang: “!!!” Danger!
No, he was very dissatisfied with the appearance of this landmine!
Li Junshan had ridiculed Wen Shuang at the banquet that night, but it was like hitting cotton balls, and it was pointless. He had never expected this "bastard" to come to his door in person. He and Lei Wenxu were childhood friends. Lei Wenxu had just said that it was just a personal meeting and it was nothing important, so he sent her away with a few words. But when he came back from the bathroom, he heard a very familiar voice. He looked through the crack in the door and it was indeed Wen Shuang!
He listened to the entire content, and that's why he couldn't help laughing.
Li Junshan actually laughed out loud. He even exaggeratedly wiped the non-existent tears from the corners of his eyes with his fingertips. "Wenshuang, what are you doing? Isn't it all thanks to you that Yu Feng can get to where he is today?"
Li Junshan knew the inside story.
Lei Wenxu frowned upon hearing this, then understood immediately: "He's the one who falsified the accounts and framed Yu Feng."
"What else?" Li Junshan leaned on the table, lit a cigarette, and exhaled lightly, and the smoke sprayed all over Wen Shuang's face.
Wen Shuang had lost his temper because of this sudden and terrible situation. Now he agreed to whatever Li Junshan said, for he was afraid that this man would retaliate and ruin things.
As expected, Li Junshan said, "Wen Xu, forget about cooperating with this guy. Your brain won't be eaten, but it's bad luck to get involved in something dirty, right?"
Lei Wenxu agreed with this. He said to Wen Shuang coldly, "Please go back. I'll tell Fang Su."
Wen Shuang clenched her fists and unclenched them, looking at Li Junshan and saying word by word, "Mr. Li, there's no need to be so cruel..."
"Cruel." Li Junshan narrowed his eyes and looked at Wen Shuang with interest through a layer of smoke. "Tell me, how am I cruel?"
Wen Shuang's face turned pale: "Your cruelty is due to your self-discipline in life."
Li Junshan scoffed at the compliment: "You know"
"Yeah." Wen Shuang nodded, "I have to smoke, drink, and fight every day to maintain this spirit."
Li Junshan, who had just taken a puff of cigarette: ""
Do you think you are humorous?
Lei Wenxu's eyes twitched slightly.
"Get out!" Li Junshan pointed at the door.
Wen Shuang took a deep breath, knowing that the opportunity was over, and turned to leave. But just as she reached the door, Li Junshan stopped her and said, "Wait."
Wen Shuang turned around and saw the man opening a bottle of red wine, and smiled maliciously.
