Chapter 119 The Young Master Takes the Initiative

"Besides, Doctor Gu is too busy to handle it all by himself. We can go over and help him, isn't that right, Yan'er?" Cui Mixue held her hand, as if the two of them were as close as real sisters, the kind who couldn't live without each other.

Su Mengyan got goosebumps from this illusion. She pulled her hand back without leaving a trace and nodded, saying, "Miss Cui is right, sir, I want to go."

Situ Yao had said before that the refugee camp was short of manpower. She had nothing to do anyway, and Wang Shouli, the only one who would harm people, had been arrested. She could definitely go over and help now.

Situ Yao stared at her distinct black and white eyes for a while, and finally nodded, "You can go, but you must make sure you survive and don't let anything happen to yourself."

Su Mengyan seemed afraid that he would go back on his word, so she kept nodding and agreeing no matter what he said.

Cui Mixue finally pulled Su Mengyan along as she wished, and smiled, "Don't worry, sir. I will take care of Yan'er."

"How is Zhao Qing's condition?" Situ Yao ignored her and turned to ask Su Mengyan.

Speaking of this, she smiled happily, ran over and took Situ Yao's hand, "Qing'er is much better than before. I think he will soon recover."

"Maybe Doctor Gu's prescription is really effective, so we don't have to wait for the imperial physician." When Su Mengyan entered, she saw Zhao Qing sitting upright on the bed. His face had color, no longer sickly pale.

In front of Situ Yao, she reached out and touched Zhao Qing's forehead, "You don't have a fever today."

"Qing'er, are you feeling unwell anywhere else?" Su Mengyan asked him.

Zhao Qing shook his head and said childishly, "I need to get better soon so I can go find my father and mother."

"Well, Qing'er will be well soon." Su Mengyan felt sorry for him because he lost his mother at such a young age, so she took the initiative to ask him, "I'm going to see your father tomorrow. Do you have anything to say to him? I can help you bring it to him."

"Really?" Zhao Qing was so happy that she almost jumped off the bed. "I want to tell Daddy that I'll be well soon, and tell him not to worry. We'll be able to see each other soon."

"Okay, I will definitely bring it to you." Su Mengyan promised him seriously.

Zhao Qing had just taken the medicine and felt sleepy after saying a few words. Su Mengyan watched him fall asleep before leaving with Situ Yao.

"I wonder when Master Gu's medicine will cure him." Su Mengyan felt that Zhao Qing was more energetic than before. Although he looked like a normal person, he actually tired easily. She was a little worried that this was a side effect of the medicine.

Her thoughts once again coincided with Situ Yao's, which was why he didn't dare to let Dr. Gu give the prescription to other patients immediately.

The next day, Cui Mixue was waiting outside Su Mengyan's door early in the morning. When she saw Situ Yao coming out, her expression changed unpredictably, but she finally asked calmly, "Master, is Yan'er awake?"

Situ Yao didn't want to pay any attention to her at first. He took a few steps forward and turned back to remind Cui Mixue, "The plague is a serious matter. You'd better not have any tricks up your sleeve."

Cui Mixue had been dealt a series of blows early in the morning. Feeling extremely aggrieved, she smiled bitterly and said, "I simply wanted to help you solve your problems. Why don't you believe me?"

Her expression was so genuine that even Situ Yao couldn't help but believe her, feeling that what he had just said was too harsh.

The next moment, Cui Mixue suddenly rushed over and hugged his waist, her voice tinged with tears, "If I can't come back, please help me keep it a secret from the Cui family and don't let them know."

"Let go!" Situ Yao whispered.

Su Mengyan packed up and pushed open the door to see the two of them hugging each other. She said loudly, "Sorry to bother you." She quickly closed the door and walked away.

Hiding in the room, Su Mengyan quietly pondered, "Just now, Situ Yao didn't push Cui Mixue away. They finally had a spark. Is the plot back on track? Can she go back now?"

Su Mengyan was a little happy at the thought of returning home soon. But then she thought about how she would never see the people in the book again, and she felt a little sad. She didn't even notice Situ Yao standing behind her.

"What are you thinking about?" Situ Yao's voice scared her so much that she almost fell off her chair. "Master, why are you here?"

Su Mengyan stretched her neck to look back, "Where's Miss Cui?"

Situ Yao's face was dark. He leaned over and approached her and said, "You haven't given up yet? You still want to bring us together?"

Su Mengyan shook her head and said something insincerely, "I didn't do that. How could I do anything to make you unhappy?"

"You saw it all just now, why didn't you stop it?" Situ Yao seemed to be forcing a conclusion out of him, "Besides hiding, weren't you jealous?"

Su Mengyan thought she was crazy to be jealous. They were the official couple, and she was just an insignificant cannon fodder who might not even know how she died in the end. Neither of them was easy to deal with.

"You are mine. When you see me with other women, don't you even feel sad?" Situ Yao questioned her coldly.

That angular, heroic face was right in front of her. Su Mengyan suddenly felt a little short of breathing. She lowered her eyelids slightly and said in a flat voice, "You are the prince, the future emperor. You will have three palaces and six courtyards and three thousand concubines. This is an indisputable fact. Why should I be jealous?" She didn't like him in the first place, and it had nothing to do with her even if he had more women.

That was Cui Mixue's concern and had nothing to do with her, a little cannon fodder. She just had to find a way to go home as soon as possible, Su Mengyan thought optimistically in her heart.

Situ Yao was so angry at her indifferent attitude that his breathing became rapid. He moved forward suddenly and his warm lips touched hers, but they separated immediately.

Su Mengyan's face flushed, whether out of embarrassment or shyness. She even forgot to pack her bag and ran out in panic, "I should go find Miss Cui. She must be waiting anxiously."

After she ran away, Situ Yao stood alone in the room, letting out a low, pleasant laugh.

"Yan'er, Yan'er?" Cui Mixue called out several times in dissatisfaction, "What are you thinking about? Why is your face so red? Are you sick?"

Su Mengyan shook her head guiltily. She remembered clearly what happened to those women who competed with Cui Mixue for men. Unless necessary, she didn't want to offend the woman in front of her.

"This morning, thanks to your help, the young master was willing to hug me." Cui Mixue looked shy and spoke as if it were true.

Su Mengyan's mind was like mush because of that kiss that ended so quickly. She couldn't think straight. After listening to Cui Mixue's words, she asked blankly, "Did the young master take the initiative?"
