"Grand Tutor, I'm terrified..."
Unable to find a trace, the only thing Xie Rang could think of was that the system had taken away his tutor, just as no one knew when she came and no one would leave a trace when she left.
Xie Rang was terrified that she would leave.
He whispered, feeling wronged, "I waited in the capital for so long, and I was so sure the Grand Tutor was going to return, but instead I received news that something had happened to him..."
No one could empathize with Xie Rang's feelings at that time, as if the sky was about to collapse. He was so disoriented that his soul was adrift. He listened to advice and did not approach the target while searching, but he could not rest for a moment.
He was afraid that he would miss any news about Yun Qing if he blinked.
Yun Qing looked at him, her expression unchanged: "If you were afraid, why didn't you explain things to me clearly from the beginning?"
Since their reunion, Yun Qing has stopped referring to herself as a subject. She was angry; no one can remain unmoved when they know their true feelings can be heard by others—the system was partly to blame, and old grievances shouldn't be brought up again.
Yun Qing just didn't expect that after knowing her identity, the little brat could still hide it so well. Yun Qing didn't believe there wasn't some deliberate element to it.
Xie Rang lowered his head, his lips touching her fingertips, and uttered the words he had kept hidden deep in his heart: "I'm afraid that if I say it, the Grand Tutor will leave me even more."
She had already distanced herself from him before he even spoke. If Yun Qing's true identity as a woman were revealed, she could use that as an excuse to stay away from him. Even if he were right under her nose, Xie Rang wouldn't be able to stand it.
“I…” Yun Qing felt a lump in her throat, and her breathing quickened. “I remember saying many times that I would not leave.”
Xie Rang looked up, his lips curving slightly, but he didn't seem happy. His eyes were red, and he looked pitiful, as if he wanted to say something more. But just as he opened his mouth, he fell straight towards Yun Qing.
