Chapter 2 Entering the Palace

Running away was out of the question. Yun Qing thought of a whole bunch of random things, but in the end, she could only lie obediently in bed and wait for the physician to come.

The physician, a middle-aged man with black hair mixed with white, was energetic and seemed reliable. After being called over by the maid, he took Yunqing's pulse.

Then his tightly furrowed brows relaxed a little: "The most dangerous time has passed, but since the poison in your body has not yet been cleared, it would be better to rest in bed for a while as a precaution. You should also continue to take the medicine you are taking. Please do not be willful again."

The maid's eyes lit up upon hearing this: "Don't worry, I will definitely keep a close eye on the young master!"

The young master is good in every way, except that he is willful when it comes to taking his medicine. If she doesn't keep an eye on him, he will spill it all. This time, for the sake of the young master's health, she will have to keep a close eye on him.

Yun Qing vaguely felt that she was being watched, but the current situation did not allow her to refute it. Even if it was for the sake of her own escape, she could only obediently take her medicine and focus on recovering.

The original owner of this body was incredibly unlucky. She had just been entrusted with the care of the young emperor and left the palace when she was shot through the neck by an arrow from a member of the eunuch faction. Fortunately, the Li family had secretly recruited the divine physician, Mr. Yu—the same physician from the manor—who managed to pull her back from the brink of death.

However, this statement is not entirely accurate, since if Yun Qing hadn't transmigrated, this body would have been dead long ago.

Yun Qing felt a headache coming on: "If I had known I would time travel, I shouldn't have stayed up that night."

Yun Qing herself is a historian, and no one understands better than her how cruel the tides of history can be, especially in such a chaotic and turbulent era.

The Li family was a prominent military family that had been illustrious since the founding of the Great Xi Dynasty. For generations, they had guarded the border with unwavering loyalty, serving as the sharpest blade on the frontier. However, the eldest son of the Li family chose the path of literature, leaving him to guard the vast mansion and remain alone in the capital. Unfortunately, death came too soon.

This exceptionally talented scholar was ultimately buried in partisan strife.

Yun Qing put together all her existing memories, but before she could figure out what to do next, the little maidservant serving her walked in with a serious expression.

"Young master, the Prince of Pingjiang invites you to the palace."

The young emperor's puppet uncle was quite a character. When the late emperor was in power, he pretended to be a pure and innocent person who was indulging in frivolous pursuits. Upon hearing the news of the late emperor's death, he immediately rushed over from his fiefdom. Within a month, he managed to create a stalemate with the eunuch faction, with neither side able to make a move against the other.

The Prince of Pingjiang now lives in the palace; all that's missing is for him to put on that yellow robe.

The news came quickly; Yun Qing had only just regained consciousness and recovered not long before the invitation was delivered to the Li residence.

Yun Qing sighed inwardly, forced to face the situation: "Let's go, let's enter the palace."

Fortunately, the original owner had learned how to change her voice, and her physical memory remained, so Yun Qing wouldn't give herself away.

Although the pain was still very noticeable, Yun Qing was feeling much better now, probably because the initial period of adaptation between her soul and body had passed. She seemed to have more energy and going to the appointment shouldn't be a problem.

The Li family had long been at the center of power. Even though the master of the house was often away from home, the location of the mansion was still very advantageous, located not far from the palace. Before long, the carriage arrived at the palace gate.

The King of Pingjiang's men had been waiting there for a long time, and as soon as Yun Qing got out of the carriage, they surrounded her.

Yun Qing cursed inwardly but smiled outwardly: "Isn't it inappropriate for His Highness Prince Pingjiang to do this?"

The head guard looked arrogantly at him: "Grand Tutor Li has just recovered from a serious illness. His Highness is thinking of you. You'd better not resist."

Resist my ass! You can't resist at all!
