Chapter 52 Xiqi's Visit

The maid ran out, covering her face.

When she arrived at the palace gate, she handed a token to the guard and left the palace with a hint of pride on her face.

She hurried all the way to He's house and knocked on the door.

"Go and ask your son to come out and see me."

The guard glanced at her and asked, "Who are you?"

"Be brave! I tell you to go and call, and you go."

The guard said disdainfully, "My young master is too busy to see you."

"You...you are a dog who looks down on others."

The guard angrily said, "Where did you come from? How dare you scold me?"

The guard said as he pushed her.

Chu Yuzhen staggered and almost fell, and someone supported her.

Chu Yuzhen looked back and exclaimed, "Mr. He."

"Princess!"

The guard was so frightened when he heard the word "princess" that he knelt down.

He Zhongyang asked the guard to leave and asked, "Princess, why are you here?"

"Mr. He, I'm here to see you."

"Looking for me? I wonder why the princess is looking for me?"

Chu Yuzhen bit her lip, pondered for a moment, and then said, "Mr. He, I want to tell you that the rumors outside are all false. I am not that kind of person, and I have never messed around with anyone. Please believe me."

He Zhongyang frowned and said calmly, "Princess, there's no need to explain to Zhongyang what kind of person you are or what the rumors are."

Chu Yuzhen asked cautiously: "Do you believe me?"

"It doesn't matter whether I believe it or not."

Chu Yuzhen reached out to pull He Zhongyang, but he dodged her. There was a hint of disappointment in Chu Yuzhen's eyes, but she still had a smile on her face.

"No, it's very important. Do you believe me?"

He Zhongyang looked at the woman in front of him and couldn't help but frown, "Princess, if you have nothing else to say, I'm sorry, Zhongyang can't accompany you anymore."

Chu Yuzhen hurriedly grabbed his hand, "Do you hate me that much?"

He Zhongyang turned around and looked at Chu Yuzhen and said, "There's no dislike between Zhongyang and the princess."

"Then why did you do this to me?"

He Zhongyang looked somewhat displeased. He pushed Chu Yuzhen's hand away and was about to enter the mansion.

Chu Yuzhen gritted her teeth and said, "He Zhongyang, I want you to marry me."

He Zhongyang paused and said, "Shu Zhongyang can't do it."

Upon hearing this, Chu Yuzhen's face turned pale and she said in a trembling voice, "As long as you go to the palace and ask my father for help, he will agree. He once promised you something."

"It is I who do not wish to marry the princess."

Chu Yuzhen raised her voice and said, "Are you concerned about the rumors out there? Zhongyang, believe me, I am truly innocent."

He Zhongyang said calmly: "I don't care whether you are innocent or not, Princess, I just don't like you, so I won't marry you."

Chu Yuzhen asked unwillingly, "Do you like Zhou Peiman?"

He Zhongyang did not answer and went straight into the mansion.

Chu Yuzhen laughed a few times, then turned and left.

——

"Oh no, madam, the princess is missing."

The Queen was startled and asked solemnly, "Where has she gone? What do those servants think?"

"The princess knocked out the maidservant beside her, put on her clothes, left the palace and went to He Mansion, and then disappeared without a trace."

The queen was silent for a while after hearing this.

"Princess Yuzhen suddenly fell seriously ill and passed away."

In a small courtyard in the city.

"Girl, my wife rescued you, not to let you abandon yourself."

The person on the bed slowly opened his eyes, and his eyes turned cold as he looked at the maid beside him.

__

The people didn't care much about the princess's death, and no one bothered to figure out whether she really died. Life went on as usual.

Chen Jingxi was dozing off in the reclining chair.

"Princess, the palace has sent an edict saying that an envoy from Xiqi is visiting and a banquet will be held in the palace."

Chen Jingxi took off the handkerchief from her face and sighed, "Something's going to happen again. My free time is gone."

At this time, Chu Jinghuai walked in and said with a smile: "Do you like a leisurely life?"

Chen Jingxi nodded. "My ambition is to live a life of idleness and wait for death, to grow old in peace, and then to die peacefully in a coffin."

Chu Jinghuai smiled and said, "The princess has lofty ambitions."

Chen Jingxi sighed and said, "I don't have any lofty ambitions. I just want to be a happy little sparrow."

Chu Jinghuai raised his eyebrows and smiled, "Your Highness, this is a very unique idea."

Chen Jingxi glanced at him calmly and said, "This princess is not interested in competing for fame and fortune. I am very satisfied with my current life."

Chu Jing thought for a moment and said, "Is the princess also satisfied with me?"

Chen Jingxi raised her eyebrows and stared at him for a long time. She liked Chu Jinghuai, but not to the point where she had to be with him.

She calmed down and thought about it these days, and could only say that the atmosphere that day was so wonderful, so wonderful that she forgot that Chu Jinghuai had strangled her before.

"If the prince were not there, I would be more satisfied."

"You..." Chu Jinghuai's face darkened.

Chen Jingxi said with a grin, "I'm just kidding, Your Highness, don't be like a firecracker that catches fire at the slightest touch."

Chu Jinghuai snorted coldly.

Seeing that his expression had softened somewhat, Chen Jingxi asked, "Your Highness, why did Xiqi suddenly come to visit? What is he doing?"

Chu Jinghuai sighed and said, "The envoy from Western Qi arrived five days ago, but he was delayed in the palace these days because of Yuzhen's matter."

Chen Jingxi nodded. She didn't expect this to be the outcome of Chu Yuzhen's case.

"Princess, do you remember the masked man we saw a few days ago?"

"What happened to him?"

"This king suspects he might be the fifth prince of Xiqi, Tuoba Wu."
