When Chen Jingxi was returning, he happened to meet a gorgeously decorated carriage at the city gate.
In the car, a woman suddenly opened the window and exclaimed, "Is this the capital? The city gate is so high!"
The woman stuck her head out and looked around. When she saw Chen Jingxi on horseback, she waved and greeted him.
Chen Jingxi nodded and smiled.
The woman seemed about to say something, but was interrupted by a deep voice from inside the carriage, "Okay, put it down."
Although the voice was not loud, it revealed an unquestionable majesty.
After hearing this, the woman pouted and obediently lowered the car window.
Chen Jingxi watched the carriage slowly passing by, feeling a little confused. The voice sounded familiar.
"Princess, let's go." Han Yu reminded from the side.
Chen Jingxi nodded and withdrew his thoughts.
In Prince Su’s Mansion.
When Wu Kuan saw Chen Jingxi leaving, his heart was in his throat, fearing that something might go wrong with Chen Jingxi while she was out, and he would not be able to explain to Chu Jinghuai.
He would check the door every half hour, praying in his heart that Chen Jingxi would come back soon.
But Chen Jingxi was like a wild horse that had broken free from its reins when he went out, and the sky was gradually getting dark.
Wu Kuan became more and more anxious, as there was no news from the people he sent out to look for her.
"Why hasn't the princess come back yet?" Wu Kuan paced anxiously at the door of the palace.
The guards at the door lowered their heads and said nothing. Manager Wu had said this no less than a hundred times today.
Just when Wu Kuan was about to go crazy, he heard the sound of horse hooves in the distance. Chen Jingxi, exhausted, rode slowly towards him.
"Princess, you are finally back!" Wu breathed a sigh of relief and hurried forward to greet her.
Chen Jingxi nodded, didn't say much, and walked straight into the palace.
Looking at Chen Jingxi's back, Wu Kuan prayed in his heart: I hope the princess can go out less in the future and make him worry less!
Looking at Wu Kuan's attentive and cautious demeanor, Chen Jingxi couldn't help but shake her head. Back then, Wu Kuan had been wary of her like a thief.
Now, even if she calls a deer a horse, Wu Kuan will follow suit and say it is a horse.
Such people will be wary of you at first, but once they let down their guard and trust you, they will be loyal to you forever.
After a day of walking outside, Chen Jingxi was truly exhausted. Furthermore, she wasn't unscathed. She'd fallen off her horse twice, and despite wearing full protective gear, she still had numerous bruises and a few scrapes.
With the help of the maid, Chen Jingxi took a bath and was lying on the bed about to apply medicine.
Suddenly, footsteps were heard outside the door. Chen Jingxi opened her eyes and saw Chu Jinghuai slowly walking in. She hurriedly closed her inner clothes and waved away the maid in the room.
Chu Jinghuai looked him up and down, as if checking, "Did you go out today? Are you injured?"
Chen Jingxi shook his head and smiled, "It's okay, just some minor injuries. Where have you been these past two days?"
Chu Jinghuai said, "Zuo Xiangtian asked me to do something."
"What is it that requires you to go in person?"
"Catch the traitor of Netherworld Pavilion. This man's martial arts skills are only second to Xiang Zuotian. The secret guards found him in Liuhe County. If we arrest him, Xiang Zuotian will owe me a favor."
Chen Jingxi nodded, knowing that the person had been caught, and did not ask any more questions.
Chu Jinghuai picked up the small bottle beside him and said, "Take it off and I will help you apply the medicine."
Seeing that there was no lust in his eyes, Chen Jingxi stopped pretending. She gently took off her inner garment and gathered her long black hair to the front, revealing her beautiful back and slender waist.
Skin appears smoother in candlelight.
Chu Jinghuai's heartbeat quickened unconsciously. He took a deep breath, trying to keep his breathing steady. He dipped his fingertips in the ointment and gently touched the bruise.
Chen Jingxi hummed softly.
"Does it hurt?" Chu Jinghuai asked softly, with an imperceptible tenderness in his voice.
Chen Jingxi turned around, patted his shoulder and said comfortingly: "Don't you know me? I'm tough and can take a beating."
Chu Jinghuai didn't agree with her words, but he did with his hands.
"Ahhhhhh! You're killing me, you bastard."
"I'm trying to teach you a lesson."
"You think my memory is bad? How dare you question my memory?"
"Look at my shadowless kick, look at my mantis fist, yo ho..."
Chu Jinghuai was neither hurried nor slow, he just dodged easily, without fighting back, allowing Chen Jingxi to attack fiercely.
She didn't stop until her attacks weakened and she was exhausted.
Chen Jingxi was panting heavily, with beads of sweat on her forehead. She was so tired that she lay on the bed and said coquettishly, "Let you go!"
"Thank you, Princess." Chu Jinghuai restrained his smile a little, stepped forward and began to apply the medicine again, this time with much gentler force.
After the medicine was applied, he put away the bottle and gently placed his hands over Chen Jingxi's wound. He closed his eyes and concentrated, a warm and gentle internal force slowly seeping into her from his palms, carefully dispelling her bruises.
Chen Jingxi felt a warm current spreading from beneath her skin, and the pain eased. She felt as if she were soaking in a hot spring, feeling incredibly comfortable. She couldn't help but let out a few satisfied moans.
Chu Jinghuai shook his head helplessly and continued to carefully dredge her meridians until he was sure that all the blood stasis had been dissolved, then he slowly withdrew his palms.
Chen Jingxi stretched her body, as if nothing had happened. She hugged Chu Jinghuai's arm and said excitedly, "Your internal energy is really useful. Can you use it to help me dry my hair in the future?"
Chu Jinghuai frowned slightly, thought about it and nodded.
Chen Jingxi took out a walnut from somewhere and said, "Jinghuai, can you open this walnut?"
Chu Jinghuai sighed, took the walnut, and heard a slight crisp "crack" sound. The walnut cracked open, and the shell was split into two halves, but the flesh inside was intact, without any damage at all.
