Xu Lanting was furious. He had clearly been the one who had nearly injured someone by galloping his horse in the street, yet he was still incredibly powerful. But since this man was clearly the son of a wealthy family, she didn't dare say anything. She hugged Xu Lanting tightly to her and hid on the side of the road, glaring at the young man.

Seeing that the girl still dared to glare at him, the young man in brocade clothes scolded her again, "What are you looking at with those bulging goldfish eyes? I'm telling you, it's no use looking at you anymore. I still can't look down on you. Look at you, you look so awful, so dark, and you even wrap your head with rags like an old woman. You're so ugly."

His brows were knitted together, and his mouth was curled behind his ears in disgust.

There were a few sneers from the side, and more and more people gathered to watch the fun.

Xu Lanyin was so angry that her liver ached. What had she done to offend him? Why did she even like him? He scolded her and despised her like that. This guy must have a mental problem. He must have delusions at the very least, maybe even paranoia.

She couldn't help but ramble, "Sir, have you heard of paralytic affective disorder, or perhaps a disorder in the intellectual realm? It's a primary manifestation of abnormal thinking, a disturbance of perception, a pathologically based distorted belief, pathological reasoning and judgment... uh, a form of schizophrenia."

She spoke so quickly that the people watching were confused.

The young man in brocade clothes was also confused. He didn't understand a single word of what was said except for the words "this young master". However, he felt that the girl was not saying good things and was probably scolding him.

He blinked and was about to curse again when a man who looked like a servant came up on horseback and whispered, "Fourth Master, this place is not far from the capital. If you get into trouble and are caught by the Second Master..."

The servant's words made the young man in brocade clothes even more furious. He pushed his butt up and down in the stirrups a few times and roared, "So what if they find us wrong? I know they wish both of us brothers would die. Bah, I won't let them have their wish. I just want to live well and piss them off to death."

His thin, handsome face was distorted by anger. After roaring, he raised his head, cracked his whip, and galloped forward, startling passers-by so much that they quickly stepped aside.

The servant did not chase after them immediately. Instead, he twitched the corner of his mouth, glanced at Xu Lanyin and Xu Lanting with drooping eyelids, and said, "Oh, you scared the kid," and threw a silver ingot in front of them, "Take the kid to see a doctor quickly, don't let him lose his mind." Then, he drove his horse to catch up.

What is going on between the master and servant?

Xu Lanyin was stunned. Xu Lanting quickly bent down to pick up the silver and said weakly with his eyes closed, "Sister, I have a headache and stomachache. I'm scared sick."

Xu Lanyin held back her laughter and picked up Xu Lanting. Instead of turning back to the clinic, she walked forward.

Several people nearby were discussing, "That boy is really nice. The kid was just frightened, and he got a silver ingot for free..."

Someone else whispered, "That country girl must be sick. What is she talking about for so long?"

Xu Lanting stuffed the silver into Xu Lanyin's arms and whispered in her ear with a smile, "Big sister, here are two taels. That big brother is so nice."

Xu Lanyin sneered, "It's true we got two taels of silver for free, but that servant isn't necessarily a good person. He's the madman's servant, but he's clearly setting a trap for his master. He'll definitely go back and tell that Second Master he's talking about that his master injured someone on horseback in the street, and he gave him silver to clean up the mess, which will only make his master even more unlucky."

Xu Lanyin had been a psychologist for many years in his previous life. After taking one look at the servant and considering the silver the servant gave him and what he said, he concluded that the servant was hoping that his master would get into even bigger trouble.

That is a traitorous slave!

Judging from his master's actions and words, he is a fool, so it is understandable that he is unaware of the spy around him.

Xu Lanyin hated the narcissistic lunatic and had no good feelings towards the servant who gave them the money.

Xu Lanting asked himself and answered, "How did big sister know? Well, big sister is just smart." The little boy's affection and admiration for big sister is growing by leaps and bounds.

Xu Lanyin smiled and kissed his little face.

Xu Lanting asked again, "Sister, what did you mean by what you said to that young master just now?"

Xu Lanyin smiled and said, "What I meant is that the man is a lunatic."

The little boy asked himself and answered himself, "Why didn't I understand a word? Oh, yes, if I understood everything, that young man would hit me."

Xu Lanyin smiled and kissed his little face again, and Xu Lanting's eyes and eyebrows curved with laughter.

With the unexpected windfall, they went on a shopping spree. The brother and sister first bought a pound of rock sugar, a bag of rose cakes, two pounds of red dates, and two pounds of glutinous rice flour. The little boy ate as he walked, then bought two boxes of peach blossom balsam, some fresh cotton, and a few feet of coarse cloth.

Xu Lan wanted to make a thoughtful little cotton vest, but since it wasn't appropriate to make just one for herself, she made one for each of them. Of course, she had extra cotton, mainly for special occasions, and she wasn't used to making things with wood ash.

These things cost more than 800 coins, and the large basket had to be weighed down to barely hold them.

Passing by the Yiju Restaurant, Xu Lanyin stopped to look inside. The two-story restaurant looked ordinary from the outside, and business was average. Perhaps this was the kind of inconspicuousness they desired. No one could have guessed that within, there were turmoil brewing, plotting one major event after another to undermine the stability and unity of the Daimyo Dynasty.

Looking at the teahouse next to the restaurant, I figured it must have changed hands. Just as I was thinking about this, I saw Su Qing and Xiao He, both dressed in plain clothes, walk out of the teahouse and get on a covered oxcart in front of the door. A man who looked like the owner escorted them to the cart, nodding and bowing as he spoke something.

It seems that Su Qing has really become the owner of this teahouse, and the teahouse will soon change hands.

After Su Qing left, Xu Lanyin carefully observed the area around the Yi Ju Restaurant again.

This is not the most prosperous street in Nanping County. There are more than 20 shops on the whole street. The big shops are two-story buildings, and the small shops are bungalows, but there are small courtyards behind the shops.

Across from the Yiju Restaurant was a small shop selling preserved fruits. Business was slow, and there hadn't been a single customer for a long time. Xu Lanyin had mentally assigned the shop to her own name. It was a good distance from the Yiju Restaurant, but she could clearly see the main entrance.

She suddenly felt that the burden on her shoulders was heavier and she had to make more money.

Xu Lanyin really wanted to go to Yi Ju Restaurant for a meal and carefully scouted the place, but the little money in her pocket stopped her. There were so many other places to spend money...

The brother and sister went to the stall where Xu Lanyin had eaten noodles before.

I spent sixteen cents to order a small bowl of sweet potato noodles and a large bowl of vegetarian noodles.

The sweet potato noodles were given to Xu Lanting, but the little boy insisted on giving half of the sweet potato to his sister before he would lower his head to eat the noodles.

This touched the noodle-selling lady so much that she smiled and said, "The poor child has grown up early. What a good kid."
