Chapter 11 Site Survey

When Bai Juncheng saw that General Fuyuan's son had been educated so well, he felt very emotional. It seemed like it was just yesterday that he, as a prince, was fighting for the throne.

"General Fuyuan, you have educated your son very well. He is very much like you were back then."

General Fuyuan also smiled when he heard this.

"I am very satisfied with this son. I asked Your Majesty to send him to experience this time because I am old. If one day I am retired and the whole country is alone, please trust my son."

If someone else had said such outrageous words, Bai Juncheng would have been furious and would have dragged that person out and beheaded him.

But he was General Fuyuan, who was devoted to his country. Even though he could not stand Bai Juncheng's cruelty, he could not deny that the lives of the people were gradually getting better.

Bai Juncheng nodded in agreement, and the general left the hall without denying Lin Shuzhan.

After seeing the general and the other two leave, Bai Jinjin hurried to the door and wanted to pull Ye Jiuge in.

But Ye Jiuge said to Bai Jinjin: "Even if you rescue these officials, you can't solve the problem of the victims. You think too much about it."

Bai Jinjin certainly knew that saving these officials would not help with the flood, but it would be very helpful to the Qin State in the future.

Bai Jinjin said to Ye Jiuge in a sweet and innocent manner, "My dear brother, you have already promised Jinjin, so you can't go back on your word."

Ye Jiuge pinched Bai Jinjin's face and said, "I didn't say I would definitely help you. I just came to Xuanzheng Hall."

Bai Jinjin was about to refute, but after thinking about it carefully, she really didn't agree.

She immediately threw herself into Ye Jiuge's arms, shaking her little head and rubbing against Ye Jiuge's chest.

"Oh, please, Brother Ye is the best."

In the end, Ye Jiuge couldn't stand the flattery anymore, and Bai Jinjin won.

Ye Jiuge sighed and took on this thankless job.

Ye Jiuge was pulled to the side of Bai Juncheng. Bai Juncheng looked at this hostage with an unhappy expression. Bai Jinjin saw the subtle atmosphere.

He immediately hugged Bai Juncheng's arm and said, "Dad, Brother Ye and I have thought of a way to treat the flood."

Bai Juncheng looked at Ye Jiuge beside Bai Jinjin with suspicion in his eyes.

In contrast, Ye Jiuge looked indifferent.

"Your Majesty, I am a hostage. I am in the Great Qin Kingdom. I am here to explain our country and try to make friends with you. If Your Majesty believes in me, I have a way to control the flood."

Bai Juncheng narrowed his cold eyes when he heard this.

"I hope you really mean what you say."

Ye Jiuge agreed without blushing or beating his heart.

Bai Juncheng lowered his head and looked at Bai Jinjin lovingly.

"Jinjin, whatever you want to do, just go ahead."

Bai Jinjin nodded heavily and walked out of Xuanzheng Hall with Ye Jiuge.

On the way, Ye Jiuge explained to Bai Jinjin in detail the cause of the flood.

"This flood is caused by the collapse of river dams that have not been repaired for many years. However, the occurrence of this kind of flood is enough to wash people away, so the probability is not high."

Seeing Bai Jinjin's bewildered look, he explained, "Another reason is that the rainfall in some places is several times higher than usual, resulting in low-lying areas. The water coming down from the mountains gathers together, causing floods."

After listening to Ye Jiuge's explanation, Bai Jinjin suddenly felt that it was no wonder that he was a villain. No one else could match his thinking.

Ye Jiuge explained for a long time and found that Bai Jinjin was just staring at him blankly, so he patted her on the head.

Bai Jinjin screamed in pain, covered her head, and punched Ye Jiuge's arm.

"If you have something to say, just say it. Why hit me on the head? You're not smart at all."

Hearing this, Ye Jiuge smiled leisurely and said in a long voice: "You? I don't think your little head is smart, but you are good at acting like a spoiled child."

Bai Jinjin retorted: "Then you can't bear it either!"

When Ye Jiuge saw Bai Jinjin's rebuttal, he smiled and said nothing.

The journey was neither long nor short, and we soon arrived at Zhaoyu Prison. The jailers nodded and bowed, saying flattering words.

Bai Jinjin was really annoyed after hearing this, so she waved her hand and asked them to hand over the keys and leave.

Walking to the cells where the ministers were imprisoned, I looked at the ministers who once looked handsome and elegant, but now their hair looked like a chicken coop.

Bai Jinjin cleared her throat and said, "The emperor has decided to let you go and let you go home."

The ministers, who were already in despair, knelt on the ground one by one and said to Bai Jinjin, "Thank you, Your Majesty, for not killing me."

Ye Jiuge, who was standing aside, looked at the group of ministers sarcastically and said, "Why are you thanking the emperor? It was the Ninth Princess who begged for mercy on your behalf."

Upon hearing this, the officials hurriedly thanked the Ninth Princess.

"Thank you, Ninth Princess. Otherwise, I would never see you again."

"Thank you, Princess Nine. If you need anything in the future, I will be happy to help you."

When everyone heard this, they all reconsidered the matter.

Bai Jinjin felt overwhelmed listening to the ministers' numerous thanksgivings, so she quickly opened the gate and let them out until the room was empty.

Bai Jinjin's swollen head finally calmed down.

Ye Jiuge patted her head.

"Let's go, we have to leave the palace again."

Bai Jinjin asked doubtfully, "Where are we going?"

Ye Jiuge said: "Silly boy, if you want to cure the flood, you have to go and see what's happening on the scene."

Bai Jinjin suddenly understood.

"Oh, yes, yes, let's go."

After saying that, he ran out. Ye Jiuge behind him shook his head and followed him.

......

Bai Jinjin and Ye Jiuge approached the flood-stricken area and found that the victims around them were more like wild beasts than victims of the disaster.

They scrambled for a rotten cabbage, and as they walked further, they saw many children who had lost their parents sitting next to the corpses with empty eyes.

Bai Jinjin looked at the scene in front of her in disbelief. Suddenly, a lady appeared in front of Bai Jinjin.

Seeing that Bai Jinjin was dressed beautifully, she started yelling at her wildly and was about to rush over. Bai Jinjin widened her eyes in fear.

A pair of big hands embraced her and kicked the woman to the ground unconscious. When Bai Jinjin reacted, Zhiyu was already in Ye Jiuge's arms.

Bai Jinjin said with lingering fear: "It's a good thing you're here."

Ye Jiuge's face turned red at such a straightforward need. He let go of Bai Jinjin's hand, protected her behind him, and continued to move forward.

I don’t know how long I walked before I finally saw the source. Just as Ye Jiuge said, the weather here is unstable and it is close to the mountains, which is why the flood was caused.

Bai Jinjin looked at Ye Jiuge in surprise.

"It's exactly the same as you said."

Ye Jiuge curled his lips and said, "There are many things that can cause floods, but this is the most common one. Okay, now that we've finished the site survey, let's go back."

Bai Jinjin grabbed Ye Jiuge's sleeve and nodded. When they went back, Ye Jiuge covered Bai Jinjin's eyes tightly, which made Bai Jinjin feel warm in her heart.
