Chapter 14: Innocent Blame

After the meal, Bai Jinjin touched her belly and curled her lips. She was so amused that the food was all spicy and she wasn't full at all.

Ye Jiuge seemed to have almost finished eating, but Bai Jinjin was not convinced and immediately asked the maid to bring a bowl of sweet soup. Only after drinking the sweet soup did she feel full and alive again!

Seeing that Bai Jinjin was full, Ye Jiuge began to talk about how to cure the flood. The victims had to be arranged to other places first, after all, no one knew when the flood would come again.

Bai Jinjin nodded. It made sense. Whatever Da Jiao said was right. It was really not Bai Jinjin’s fault for not understanding this.

Before she traveled through the book, it was a society ruled by law, safe and reliable. Even if there was a flood, the hidden dangers would be discovered and resolved in advance.

Ye Jiuge went to the flood site yesterday and found that the weather in a place not far away was very different from that where the flood occurred. The villages and ditches there were too far away from the village.

So they thought of digging a ditch that would pass through the farmland to connect the two villages and directly reach the river ditch. In this way, even if there is heavy rainfall in the future, what is happening now will not happen again.

After listening to this, Bai Jinjin really wanted to give Ye Jiuge a thumbs up. He is indeed the villain in the book! He is really amazing.

After Ye Jiuge finished explaining the detailed plan to Bai Jinjin, he waited for Bai Jinjin's reaction, but there was no response for a long time. He turned his head and saw Bai Jinjin staring at him blankly.

Ye Jiuge was really helpless. Every time Bai Jinjin talked about the flood, she looked dazed. He stretched out his hand, slightly bent his fingers, and patted Bai Jinjin on the forehead lightly.

Bai Jinjin was called back, and she looked at Ye Jiuge with a frown on her face.

"Brother Ye, you know I'm always distracted, but I think next time you can just call me Jinjin."

Ye Jiuge looked at the girl's cute appearance and reached out without hesitation to pinch the girl's little face.

"You, always daydreaming like this, will suffer sooner or later."

Bai Jinjin couldn't break free and spoke vaguely.

"You're so stupid, I'm so smart!"

It was really funny to see Bai Jinjin mumbling her words and trying to pronounce the word "smart" clearly, so I let go of my hand.

"Okay, okay, you're smart, you're the smartest."

Bai Jinjin stood up and rubbed her face, saying as she walked: "Okay, Brother Ye, let's go and see if your plan works. If it doesn't work, we can try another method sooner."

Bai Jinjin absolutely refused to admit that her words were spoken out of anger. She held her head high and walked in front.

Ye Jiuge looked at the ashamed and angry girl in front of him, and could only endure his temper.

But this time, when she was about to leave the palace, she was stopped by the guards. Bai Jinjin stuck her head out and asked what was going on.

The guard clasped his fists and said, "Your Highness the Ninth Princess, I'm truly sorry. You'll need to wait a moment. There's a carriage ahead that hasn't left yet."

Bai Jinjin nodded. Well, it wasn't particularly urgent now anyway.

Just as she was picking up the osmanthus cake, she heard angry roars coming from outside, which scared Bai Jinjin so much that she almost threw the osmanthus cake away.

Bai Jinjin lifted the curtain and saw the eldest prince and others in front of her.

Seeing that it was them, Bai Jinjin looked as if she had eaten a fly, and her face suddenly turned pale. But the noise outside the curtain was getting louder and louder. Bai Jinjin really couldn't stand it anymore.

The eldest prince, who was reviewing with the guard, tried his best to maintain his image, but the guard simply didn't believe him.

Bai Lingling also got off the carriage and looked at the eldest prince. She felt very disgusted. His hypocritical look was really disgusting.

But Bai Lingling didn't think about the fact that she was able to be safe until now because of those four princes.

Seeing that the guard was unmoved, Bai Lingling stepped forward and said with a faint smile, "Guard brother, we are really the prince and princess. Why won't you let us pass?"

The guard still didn't respond. The impatient Second Prince stepped forward, grabbed the guard's collar and said in a deep voice, "Don't you know who I am? Why don't you just let us go!"

Seeing this, the guard gently pulled the Second Prince's hand away and said in a strong voice, "I am just a guard. I only recognize the palace badge. If you don't have it, I can't let you pass."

Bai Jinjin laughed when she heard this in the carriage. You want to leave the palace without even bringing your own palace badge, and you even blame the guards for stopping you?

Seeing Bai Jinjin laughing, Ye Jiuge asked, "Have you gotten rid of your anger now?"

Of course Bai Jinjin knew what he was talking about and nodded with a smile.

"It's more than just a relief, I feel better now, hahaha."

The guard was so annoyed by Bai Lingling and the others that he drove them away and said, "I only recognize palace badges. If you want to leave the palace, please go back and get a palace badge."

Bai Lingling didn't expect that the guard would be so unmoved. He got into the car with a sullen face, and the four princes followed him in.

Seeing that there was no sound outside, Bai Jinjin asked the coachman to move forward. The guards from before saw that it was Bai Jinjin's carriage and did not stop it, but let Bai Jinjin's carriage pass.

The sudden sound of a carriage made Bai Lingling look up to see who it was. She found that it was Bai Jinjin's carriage. The guard from before seemed not to have seen it and let her pass.

Bai Lingling was so angry that she got off the carriage and walked up to the guard with an angry look on her face and asked sternly, "Didn't you say that anyone leaving the palace needs a palace pass? Doesn't Bai Jinjin need one?"

The guard said without even raising his eyelids, "Her Highness the Ninth Princess has obtained His Highness's permission. No one is allowed to stop her from going anywhere within the Qin State."

These words made Bai Lingling so angry that she gritted her teeth and stamped her feet, then turned back to the carriage and saw that the four princes were just looking at her worriedly.

But there was no real help at all and Bai Lingling suppressed her anger.

She said softly, "Let's go back and get the palace card. I just asked the guards, and the eldest guard told me that the carriage that just passed by belonged to Bai Jinjin, and he didn't dare to stop it."

Bai Lingling would never tell the truth. This was an opportunity for the four princes to lower their impression of Bai Jinjin again.

Although Bai Lingling despised the four princes who could only talk but not do anything, it was they who protected her in the palace.

As Bai Lingling expected, the four princes all looked gloomy when they heard this, and this time it was the third prince who took the lead.

"Bai Jinjin is so arrogant! I'm going to tell the Empress Dowager!"

Seeing the Third Prince's expression, the remaining three nodded in agreement and drove their carriage towards the Cining Palace.

The other princes were busy comforting Bai Lingling. Bai Lingling was the kind of person who never defeated her opponent in a fair and just way. She didn't work hard, and she couldn't stand seeing others work hard.

Bai Lingling looked complacently at the Third Prince walking away towards the Cining Palace.

I thought to myself, "Bai Jinjin, so what if you are favored by Bai Juncheng? You got away with it last time in the Cining Palace. Do you still have the ability to dodge it this time? I'm really looking forward to it."
