Chapter 5 Successfully Conquering the Queen Mother

When Bai Jinjin arrived at the Cining Palace, she was shocked by its grandeur. The palace maids in the Cining Palace were all selected by the Imperial Household Department to do the most delicate work. There were even phoenixes inlaid with gold on the palace walls.

As soon as I walked into the hall, I saw the Queen Mother and others. The Queen and others surrounding the Queen Mother walked forward calmly and saluted.

"Good luck to the Empress Dowager."

The Queen Mother nodded in satisfaction, but her face was still expressionless as when she came, and she looked majestic without even being angry.

Bai Jinjin knew that this was not over yet, as expected, the Queen Mother asked about the Second Prince.

Bai Jinjin blinked her eyes, and her childish voice echoed in everyone's ears.

"Second brother's gift was replaced by someone else."

Everyone was stunned when they heard this, even the Second Prince was stunned and immediately said that Bai Jinjin was lying.

But Bai Jinjin said calmly, "But if Second Brother's gift hadn't been replaced, then why would Second Brother keep scratching his face and saying it was so itchy?"

The Queen Mother looked at the Second Prince Bai Yu in surprise. He saw his face flushed red. If he admitted it, then he would have deliberately harmed Bai Jinjin. But if he didn't admit it...

Seeing that Bai Yu couldn't respond, Bai Jinjin continued, "Jinjin knows that Second Brother is angry that Daddy scolded him, but Daddy is also worried about Second Brother."

The second prince was speechless and in a dilemma.

Seeing this, Bai Jinjin came to his rescue.

"Okay, second brother, Daddy is not angry with you, otherwise why would you come out during the confinement period?"

Hearing this, the Queen was shocked and knew that the situation was hopeless. She opened her red lips and said softly, "Mother, look at Jinjin, this child, she is so smart."

Seeing this, Bai Jinjin said to the Empress Dowager, "Grandma, Jinjin went to the Imperial Kitchen and learned how to make sour plum soup. Grandma, please try it."

Seeing this, the Queen Mother had nothing to say, but the sour plum soup that Bai Jinjin mentioned did win points in the Queen Mother's favor, and she nodded.

Bai Jinjin smiled, turned around and ran out, then carefully came back and walked towards the Queen Mother.

Looking at Bai Jinjin's adorable look as if she were a treasure, the empress dowager seemed to understand why the emperor doted on her so much.

Bai Jinjin finally walked up to the Queen Mother and said to her with a smile, "Grandma, there's a surprise in here."

The Queen Mother raised an eyebrow and said, "Oh? This sour plum soup has always been the same. I wonder if you have any surprises."

Bai Jinjin urged the empress dowager to drink quickly. The empress dowager looked at the delicate little face in front of her, smiled, shook her head and drank it. Suddenly, the empress dowager hummed in confusion.

After drinking the sour plum soup which was supposed to be liquid, there was something that needed to be chewed.

I scooped up the black things at the bottom of the bowl with a spoon, and they looked like pearls.

Bai Jinjin asked expectantly how the Queen Mother was doing.

The Queen Mother thought it was strange but delicious.

Bai Jinjin then explained for the Queen Mother.

"It's made by rolling glutinous rice, and then cooking it on one side to make it look like this."

The second prince and the third prince were also looking at this novel new gadget with curiosity. They always felt that Bai Jinjin in this life seemed to have changed a little from the previous life.

The Queen Mother looked at the pink dumpling in front of her, smiled, pinched her face and said, "You clever little dumpling."

Seeing how the Queen Mother treated Bai Jinjin, Bai Lingling's mood dropped several degrees, and she couldn't help but look vicious.

His status was not as good as that of the third prince, who was favored by the empress dowager, and his position was not as high as that of the second prince, who was the empress's biological child.

Seeing that the Queen Mother was so happy, Bai Jinjin became more and more presumptuous and sat next to her. This action made the Queen Mother even more uncomfortable, and she wanted to kill Bai Jinjin with the Queen Mother's hand.

Who would have thought that Bai Jinjin's clever mouth could avert danger.

Suddenly, Bai Jinjin seemed to have thought of something and ran out again.

Leaving everyone with a puzzled look on their faces, Bai Jinjin came back with a lot of small cards and some small cubes in her hands.

I told the Queen Mother how to play small cards. There are many ways to play with four or three people, but small cubes can only be played with four people.

These words aroused the interest of the Queen Mother. After Bai Jinjin's detailed introduction, she liked Bai Jinjin even more.

But at the same time, the strong contrast made the Queen Mother feel that Bai Lingling was really dull and boring.

Even the second prince and the third prince had a changed opinion of Bai Jinjin. She was indeed different from her previous life.

Bai Lingling, who was standing aside, saw that her brothers had changed their views on Bai Jinjin.

She was sure that Bai Jinjin not only had Bai Juncheng's favor, but also the Queen Mother's favor today, and now she wanted to take away the favor of her brothers.

She clutched the handkerchief tightly in her hand, and the hatred in her eyes could no longer be hidden. She couldn't bear to watch Bai Jinjin take away her brothers' love. They were all she had!

It was time for lunch and everyone was about to leave, but Bai Jinjin was the only one who was kept by the Queen Mother to have lunch. This difference seemed to confirm something.

Bai Jinjin sat at the dinner table in a daze, looking at the empress dowager beside her, then looking at the ingredients on the table, her little face almost wrinkled into a bun.

The empress dowager standing by saw Bai Jinjin's expression and looked at the dishes on the table, then laughed out loud. She had forgotten that children need a balanced diet.

She said to the maid who was serving the dishes, "Go to the imperial kitchen and ask them to prepare some dishes that the children will like."

When Bai Jinjin heard this, she looked up at the Queen Mother, her bright big eyes staring straight at her.

"Grandma Huang, how do you know what Jinjin is thinking?"

The Queen Mother tapped Bai Jinjin's nose and said, "Your little face is about to be wrinkled like a bun."

Bai Jinjin smiled sheepishly. The meal was very heartwarming.

When the palace maid beside her helped Bai Jinjin out of the Cining Palace, she sighed deeply, feeling very full from eating.

Bai Jinjin was full, so she decided to take a walk in the Imperial Garden.

On the way there, I saw Bai Lingling instructing the maid about something, but I didn't pay much attention to it. After all, I couldn't stop her from doing something.

When passing by the lotus pond, I saw Bai Lingling stopping by, so I went up to her and started a conversation with her, thinking of holding her close.

Seeing Bai Jinjin approaching, Bai Lingling quickly put on a gentle smile and said, "Sister, are you just coming out of the Cining Palace now?"

Bai Jinjin said with a smile: "Yes, Jinjin is full."

Bai Lingling lowered her head and smiled faintly with mockery in her eyes. She raised her head as if looking for something, and suddenly Bai Lingling took Bai Jinjin's hand.

This time, Bai Jinjin clearly saw the malice in Bai Lingling's eyes. Before she could come to her senses, she saw Bai Lingling picked up her hand and slapped her face, then fell to the ground.

Bai Jinjin heard four voices calling out from behind her, and she immediately understood. Oh, huh? Framed.

Then he turned around to confirm, but when he saw the palace maid next to Bai Lingling, he knew there was no need to confirm. Wasn't this the palace maid he saw at that time?
