Chapter 48 The Fierce Director

It was soon her turn to go in, and Su Yinyin felt a little nervous for some reason.

Some dejected girls came out of the room, and one of them even cried.

She came out sobbing, and although the girl next to her was trying to comfort her, she didn't look very happy either.

Zhang Qian turned around and whispered to Su Yinyin, "Is this director so strict? Will he scold me later?"

"Those behind come in quickly."

There were staff members inside urging them to go in. Zhang Qian showed her timidity for once. When she walked in, her palms were sweating with nervousness.

Director Gu Jiu was sitting inside. He wore a pair of black-rimmed glasses and was slightly smaller than Lu Jingxu next to him, but he had fair skin and a gentle and handsome appearance.

Anyway, at first glance, he doesn't look like the kind of person who can make people cry by scolding them.

Su Yinyin, Zhang Qian and several other girls walked into the room to wait for the audition.

A girl walked up to him, and Gu Jiu raised his glasses and asked her to introduce herself.

She seemed a little nervous, and even her words were trembling.

"Hello, Director Lu... I'm Qin Yue, born... in 1996—"

Before she could finish her words, someone in the seat interrupted her: "Can't you speak properly?"

The girl was stunned for a moment, her pupils trembling slightly, and it was obvious that she was frightened by Gu Jiu's tone.

"For someone who can't even fluently introduce himself, I have reason to doubt whether your dialogue skills are also that poor."

Judging from the tone of his voice, Su Yinyin almost suspected that he and Lu Jingxu were twins. They looked exactly like they were.

The girl's face turned pale and she quickly apologized, "Sorry...I'm sorry."

"Okay, please say that again."

The girl gathered herself and clenched her fists, but when she spoke, her voice still trembled with nervousness: "I'm Qin Yue... born in 1996. This time... I'm here to audition for the role of Qingqing in Underground Factory No. 2."

In the movie, Qingqing is a police spy who infiltrates the kidnapper group. She is also the key figure who passes the location where the heroine is imprisoned to the outside world and ultimately allows the heroine to be successfully rescued.

Su Yinyin was a little surprised that she was auditioning for this role.

Because first of all, judging from her appearance, she is a little too thin, and doesn't look like a police officer who can be undercover for many years in such a dangerous place.

Following the director's instructions, she began her performance.

This scene is when she is helping the heroine to pass on the message and there happens to be an inspection, which requires her to act out that she is both scared and nervous inside, but has to appear natural in front of the interrogator.

Unfortunately, she seemed to have misunderstood the meaning of the question and only acted nervous and frightened, completely forgetting how to demonstrate the calmness and self-composure that a well-qualified female police officer needs to show when facing special situations.

"Stop." Lu Jingxu interrupted his performance.

"Next." His voice was cold and almost ruthless, leaving no room for doubt. This was his attitude towards work. When facing unprofessional people, he didn't even bother to waste his words.

The girl hadn't left yet. She looked a little unwilling and said stubbornly:

"First of all, I have always respected Mr. Lu Jingxu and have seen many of your works. Secondly, I believe interrupting someone's performance is extremely rude, so I'd like to ask what I did wrong that made Mr. Lu unwilling to even watch my entire performance."

The girls standing nearby started to talk, secretly admiring her courage to talk back.

"I think I've done a lot of preparation for this audition, both in terms of the script and the role. I really need this opportunity, but you just interrupted my performance so casually. Shouldn't you give me some explanation?"

Zhang Qian looked at Su Yinyin with wide eyes and whispered, "What a warrior."

Lu Jingxu maintained his serious expression. Facing the girl's question, he asked indifferently, "Do you truly understand this role?"

The girl was stunned.

He continued, "If, as you said, you've done your homework diligently, then I can tentatively assume that your performance just now was due to your limited talent."

"First, you're playing an undercover cop. Let's put aside the physical requirements for now. Your performance consists solely of exaggerated facial expressions, with absolutely no body language... If that performance were replayed in front of you, would you, as the audience, believe that the person on screen was a genuine undercover cop?"

The girl was speechless and a little distraught for a moment.

After Lu Jingxu finished speaking, he raised his eyes calmly and said, "Next."

The atmosphere in the room was suffocating. Several actresses in front couldn't bear it and sneaked away because of what they saw Qin Yue's experience.

So it was their turn soon.

Su Yinyin silently encouraged herself in her heart. Fortunately, Su Yinyin was quite serious in school and always ranked among the top students in professional courses. Otherwise, in the audition later, she might be scolded by Lu Jingxu like Qin Yue.

She secretly took a deep breath to relax herself, and glanced into the venue from time to time, and found that Zhao Jing was also sitting in the judges' seat.

Is it true that the heroine of this movie has been decided?

Zhao Jing obviously noticed her as well. Her gaze stayed on her for a moment, as if she was a little surprised. But soon, it was replaced by a confident expression.

Su Yinyin didn't know why, but she felt inexplicably unhappy.

Zhang Qian was obviously not in a much better condition either. She went up for a few seconds and then came back. She sighed and shook her head at Su Yinyin.

"Go quickly, I'll wait for you here."

Obviously, there is even less hope for Su Yinyin to play the female lead role that she is about to audition for.

Su Yinyin silently cheered herself up, then stepped forward.

The moment his eyes met Lu Jingxu's, he felt as if he had been burned.

There was some surprise in Lu Jingxu's eyes, but it would soon be suppressed by his usual coldness.

Su Yinyin learned from her previous experience, quickly introduced herself, and then began her performance.

The director showed the heroine being kidnapped by the kidnappers and feeling terrified and helpless after not taking a shower or changing clothes for five days on the ship heading to the country where the underground factory was located.
