Gu Qingqing stared at him with wide eyes, not understanding what he meant by smiling so lewdly.

"Yes, I'm not leaving." She misunderstood his words, thinking that he was feeling unwell and wanted her to stay by his side to take care of him.
"You said you'd never leave me for the rest of your life." Relieved by her answer, Fu Jue grinned.
He slowly loosened his grip on her hand a little.
Just now, when he was heartbroken, he thought she would leave him, and that fear swept over him and enveloped him.
If she hadn't stopped, turned back, and run back to his side, he would have been plunged into an abyss of no return.
