Fu Jue's eyes were closed, as if he were asleep.
After Gu Qingqing finished speaking, he opened his eyes and looked at her, who was crying her eyes out.
"Will you agree to anything I ask?" he asked tentatively.
"Yes, I'll agree to anything, as long as you wake up." Gu Qingqing replied naively, unaware that Fu Jue had already woken up.
"Then I want you to be my wife, and we'll be together for life." Fu Jue raised an eyebrow and smiled.
He originally wanted to say "be my girlfriend," but then he thought that couples sometimes break up, so he simply asked her to be his wife and promised to stay together for life.
"Yes, yes, I promise you, I'll be your wife, for life. As long as you're alive, I'll be your wife."
Gu Qingqing nodded in agreement, crying uncontrollably. Immersed in her grief, she hadn't yet noticed that Fu Jue had woken up and was playing a trick on her.
"Once you agree, you can't go back on your word. If you do, I'll force you to marry me."
Fu Jue couldn't help but laugh when he saw her silly look.
She's so cute!
I really want to keep teasing her.
"ah--"
Seeing Fu Jue wake up with a wicked grin on his face, Gu Qingqing was stunned for a second before screaming in fright.
"Why did you lie to me? I thought you were dead, Fu Jue. You're so mean! I'm not talking to you anymore. You heartless bastard, why don't you wake up instead of pretending to be dead?"
She angrily pounded his chest with both hands, and when she touched his arm where he had been shot, he gritted his teeth in pain, his eyebrows furrowing into a deep frown.
"Ugh..." A muffled, painful groan still escaped from between his teeth.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Gu Qingqing saw that he was holding his left hand with his right hand, and knew that he had been shot in the left hand.
