Chapter 10 Don’t Go to the Master If You Have Nothing to Do

By the time Shen Qingmang realized what she had said, Si Rong's eyes were almost as red as the rabbit's. She quickly said, "I was just kidding. Rabbits are so cute, how can you eat them?"

Si Rong was a little happier now, but he still picked up the rabbit and stood diagonally opposite her, which made Shen Qingmang laugh and cry.

She had no intention of stealing food from her apprentice's pet.

"Master, what are you doing here?" Hao Xin climbed over the wall.

She frowned. "You're so young, yet you're so good at climbing over walls. I'll raise them higher tomorrow."

"There's no need to go through so much trouble. Just set up a formation." Gu Sui Han said.

"I'm not a pervert!" Hao Xin said angrily, "Why are you on guard against me? I'll just go through the door next time, okay?"

Shen Qingmang thought of the romantic plot in the original novel where the hero and heroine sat on the wall and talked heart to heart. He mourned for two seconds for its aborted plot and nodded, "Yes, that's right."

The ruthless class teacher breaks up the couple online.

"I have nothing to do today, so I came to see how you are adapting. Have you had lunch yet?"

"Not yet. Daddy will bring me food later. Master, would you like to stay and eat with us?" Si Rong said enthusiastically.

Shen Qingmang was about to agree when Hao Xin said, "Do you think Master is as greedy as you are? People with high cultivation levels like them have long given up their appetites. Right, Master?"

She took a deep breath, maintaining her dignified demeanor. "Well, the five flavors are refreshing. While overindulging in food is harmful, it's okay to indulge occasionally. I'll dine with you today."

"Thank you, Master, for your presence!" Si Rong put the rabbit down and formed a communication talisman. "Dad, tell the kitchen to make more food today! Master, please come eat with me! Oh, and Senior Brother too!"

"What about me?" asked Hao Xin.

"Don't you care about food?" Si Rong said with a smile.

Hao Xin looked dissatisfied. "I'm talking about Master, and I can't not eat. You three are eating delicious food, and I'm the only one smelling it. Isn't that too cruel?"

"Hahaha, what are you worried about? Didn't you eat with me the other day? Even if I didn't tell you, Dad would have asked them to make two servings."

About half an hour later, the outer disciples of Wendao Peak brought lunch. Shen Qingmang smelled the fragrance through the lunch box and couldn't help but feel hungry.

Si Rong kept picking up food for her and tried her best to promote every dish, but Shen Qingmang accepted all of them.

"Master, this dish is fire grass with aged vinegar. It's sour, sweet and refreshing. Please try it."

Si Rong's chopsticks reached for Shen Qingmang's bowl again, but this time they were intercepted by Gu Sui Han in mid-air.

"Master cannot eat fire grass."

"Huh?" Si Rong tilted his head. "Why haven't I heard of this?"

Shen Qingmang smelled the fragrance and was eager to try it. He recalled the original novel and couldn't remember what food Qiongju was allergic to.

She also turned to look at Gu Suihan, who leaned close to her ear and whispered, "When spiritual energy is blocked, consuming fire grass will make it worse. Master, have you forgotten?"

"Hmm... Ah Rong, I really don't like eating fire grass. You can eat it."

Woohoo, goodbye, that cold dish that looks delicious.

She thought this was the end, but she didn't expect Gu Suihan to block a few more dishes for her. They were all dishes she wanted to eat but were not conducive to the recovery of her spiritual energy. Shen Qingmang looked at the delicious and fragrant dishes and felt deeply the retribution of lying.

Otherwise...she could just say she's almost recovered, right? Anyway, since she's not teaching them magic lately, it shouldn't be revealed.

But...what if after she said that, the eldest disciple asked her for advice on magic?

Shen Qingmang sighed silently, gave up struggling, and resigned himself to his fate by picking up the safe food.

After dinner, she didn't stay long, letting her disciples rest well while she returned to Qiongzhi Hall. The danger of being exposed was still hanging over her head. In order to avoid being discovered that Qiongju had become a vase with nothing but beauty, she decided to rest less and study more.

Two days passed in a flash, and on the day of class, Shen Qingmang asked all the children to gather in the classroom. No one was late, but the inner and outer gates were clearly separated and they stood far apart.

"Line up according to your height, and you three can stand in as well." Shen Qingmang commanded.

She arranged seats for the thirty or so children according to their height, one for each. After everyone was seated, she stood in front of the coffin, no, the blackboard.

"We'll officially start classes today. We'll only complete three tasks this morning. First, introduce yourself. Second, elect class committee members. Third, establish class rules."

After she finished speaking, the children looked confused.

"What did the teacher say?"

"Three kinds of magic?"

"The name of this technique is so difficult to understand..."

"Introduce... introduce yourself? Recommend yourself?"

Shen Qingmang looked at this group of children who knew nothing about modern teaching and patiently explained the meaning of the three terms. Everyone seemed to understand but not quite.

"Just go forward and introduce yourselves in seating order. Xiangling, you're the first one."

"good."

Xiangling was the girl who gave the Piaoyao Talisman to her father. She introduced herself gracefully and confidently. Inspired by her, the next few children who came on stage also introduced themselves smoothly.

"Master, do I have to go on stage too?" Si Rong asked.

"certainly."

She walked onto the stage, her eyes curved. "Hello, junior brothers and sisters. I'm your second senior sister, Si Rong. I live in Wendao Peak. My father is the plump, white man Yiqing Zhenren. I don't know if you've met him, but if you run into any trouble at Wendao Peak, you can go find him. I like raising animals. I have a crane named Nian Nian, who's very clever. I recently got a rabbit, but it's a little shy, so I didn't bring it here. It likes to eat Yingying grass. You can come and feed it a few times before you can pet it. What else do I have to say... Oh, why cultivate immortality? I haven't really thought about that. I guess it's to spend a few more centuries with my father."

Shen Qingmang asked everyone to introduce why they wanted to practice Taoism. Most of the answers she had heard so far were to prolong their lives. She smiled at Si Rong and asked the next person to come on stage and introduce themselves.

When it was Hao Xin's turn, the young man spoke succinctly. "My name is Hao Xin. I cultivate to become the most powerful person. One day, I will achieve enlightenment and become an immortal."

Shen Qingmang asked: "What is the Tao in your heart?"

Hao Xin pondered for a while and said, "The way of the strong is invincible."

She clapped her hands. "Not bad, young man, you have great ambitions."

Si Rong stood up. "Master, can I repeat it? I can also talk about my own teachings!"

Shen Qingmang nodded.

"My way is to be free and at ease!"

"Okay." Shen Qingmang clapped his hands twice to show encouragement.

Gu Suihan was the tallest and sat in the last row. When it was his turn, the children watched him go on stage with admiration on their faces.

"I am Gu Suihan, the first disciple of Master Qiongju, and your eldest senior brother. You don't need to bother Master with trivial matters; just ask me. I cultivate immortality in order to..."

He paused for a moment, his voice almost inaudible. "For one person."

"Hmm?" Shen Qingmang leaned forward. "What did you just say?"

"Nothing. Why don't I tell you about my way?" Gu Suihan smiled. "My way is... the way of heaven is in my hands."

There was an uproar in the audience. Shen Qingmang opened his mouth slightly, blinked, and sighed in his heart: Is this the confidence of those favored by destiny?
