Qi Xiao Extra: Disenchantment

Some people like the number "two", some people hate it, sometimes it is a glory, and sometimes it is a shackle.

Qi Xiao hates being "stupid".

When he was at home, he was the second son, but the least favored one. Everyone in the mansion praised the eldest son for his knowledge and good manners, and the third lady for her cuteness and cleverness, but when they mentioned the second son, they always hesitated for a while before remembering that such a person existed.

He was so mediocre, without the intelligence of his elder brother or the flamboyance of his younger sister. He was like a gray stone, lying on the road, inconspicuous.

When the messenger tested his spiritual roots and said he was talented, his first reaction was disbelief, followed by ecstasy. It turned out that he could also be excellent and outstanding, surpassing his elder brother.

He and his sister entered the mountain gate and were chosen by the then master of Wuya Peak, Wuying Zhenren.

"They are twins. I just want to accept two disciples this year. You two can become my disciples."

He came to Wuya Peak with excitement, and then saw the eldest brother waiting for them.

It turned out that he was the second one.

Young Shi Mingli frowned at his fellow apprentices and said to his master, "You chose only these two? One is timid and the other is chattering."

Facing the bright and handsome boy, Qi Xiao buried his head even deeper, but Qi Yao, with his hands on his hips, retorted: "Who's being timid? Who's chattering? I just saw a dog barking helplessly after someone broke into its territory."

Yun Xuzhou smiled and said, "It seems like you brothers and sisters will be able to get along quickly. But you should also be careful with your words, haha."

Qi Xiao: How do you look familiar with me?

He helplessly discovered that his master was also a careless person, somewhat similar to his father who didn't care about anything, and had the style of a parent who "is not stupid or deaf, and does not want to be a father of the family."

As the future leader, Yun Xuzhou's disciples naturally became the focus of much attention within the Taichu Sect. Shi Mingli was intelligent and studious, having already reached the Great Perfection of Foundation Establishment sixty years after his initiation and was on the verge of Dan Formation. Qi Yao, lively and enthusiastic, quickly established close relationships with everyone in the peak except for the eldest brother, and his reputation spread far and wide.

Only Qi Xiao is still inconspicuous. When people mention Yunxuzhou's second disciple, they have to think for a long time before slapping their foreheads: Ah, Qi Yao's biological brother, the taciturn guy.

He practiced slowly, and had to learn a technique many times before he could master it. Afraid that his master would think he was stupid, he always told his master in person that he understood, and practiced again and again behind his back. His sister would sometimes guide him, but most of the time she was busy running around the mountains and didn't have the patience to repeat boring techniques.

When he couldn't perform the mind-control technique at all and was sweating profusely in anxiety, and didn't know what to do, the eldest senior brother suddenly appeared.

"Since you don't know how to do it, ask the master to teach you a few more times. If you keep pretending to know and muddle through every time, you will fall further and further behind sooner or later." Shi Mingli said bluntly.

He looked at his arrogant expression and felt a little indignant: How could these gifted people understand the situation of a mediocre person like him?

"If I were you, I wouldn't care what others think of me. Their praise may not be sincere, and their disparagement is just to satisfy their own dark desires. Living your own life is what matters most."

He stared blankly at his senior brother, and his sister's words suddenly flashed through his mind.

When she first arrived at Wuya Peak, her younger sister was very dissatisfied with the eldest brother because of his ridicule. She often opposed him, and soon she suddenly started to avoid him.

"Big Brother is such a terrifying person. I always feel like he can see through other people's minds, and every word he says is so sharp."

He now felt as if someone was poking his lungs.

"Okay, stop thinking about it. Are you practicing the art of mind-boosting? The essence of the art of mind-boosting is to forget yourself and imagine your body as a gust of wind or a leaf, in tune with the heaven and earth." Shi Mingli's voice slowed down and sounded much gentler.

He tried to do as he was told, and he actually found the key. Feeling the flow of air around him, he moved along with it.

When he opened his eyes again, he found that he was only a few dozen feet away from where he had just stood, and he could still see his senior brother from afar. He suddenly felt a little embarrassed.

Mind Movement Technique is a high-level movement technique, but when used by him, it is not even as good as the low-level Wind Movement Technique.

Sure enough, the eldest senior brother just used the wind-flying technique and appeared in front of him in an instant.

He was dejected, but the other party did not mock him. Instead, he patiently told him some details that needed attention.

With the help of his senior brother, his foundation in magic was finally no longer ridiculously bad, and his self-confidence was slightly improved.

When the eldest senior brother became an infant, his master gave him the Taoist name "Jinyan". From then on, the eldest senior brother actually started to be careful with his words and actions.

Not long after, the master welcomed his precious daughter, Yunlan. This innocent and lovely little girl was loved by everyone who saw her. Yunxuzhou treated her like a treasure, holding her in his mouth for fear of it melting, and holding her in his hands for fear of it breaking.

Qi Xiao watched her grow up little by little and often envied her.

Like herself, she had no natural talent for cultivation, and her progress and learning were slow. But she never worried about being looked down upon. She would openly say she didn't know how to do something, and countless people were willing to help her.

However, this little girl who grew up in such a pampered state fell in love with a cold and indifferent man who was always distant from her, and ended up dying of depression.

He felt it was ridiculous, yet pathetic.

Is it true that for ordinary people like them, having too much will lead to excessive blessings and shorten their lifespan?

Yunlan's death changed many people. The master hasn't laughed for a long time, the eldest brother has become more stable, and the younger sister seems to have seen through how love hurts people and started to play around in the world.

Soon it was time for a new disciple-recruiting conference. The master originally did not want to accept any more disciples, but when he saw a girl, he was moved by her talent and accepted her as his last disciple.
