The Emperor and Empress Extra: The End of the Conquest

After finally getting through this uncomfortable part for both parties, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

The ceremonial officer guiding Li Xiwei whispered to him, "Your Highness, please be patient. His Majesty has simplified many of the ceremonies. You will be able to see her soon."

"Thank you very much."

What the ceremonial officer said was true. A quarter of an hour later, Li Xiwei finally saw Jiang Cenyun. She stood on the altar, overlooking all the officials. Li Xiwei needed to climb five hundred steps by himself to offer sacrifices to the sky with Jiang Cenyun.

He lifted his coat and climbed the stairs.

Suddenly there was a cry of surprise from behind. He looked up and found Jiang Cenyun walking down from above.

"Your Majesty, this is against etiquette!" the Minister of Rites stretched his neck and shouted.

"I am the law of nature!" Jiang Cenyun shouted.

Li Xi smiled and quickened his pace. The two met halfway. Jiang Cenyun took his hand and continued forward with him.

"Hurry up, I'm starving. There's food upstairs." Jiang Cenyun said in a low voice.

"Okay." He replied with a smile.

After reciting the prayer to heaven, the two of them ate from the same table on the altar. This ceremony was called "Tonglao", which meant that the emperor and the empress would share the joys and sorrows from then on.

After the meal, Li Xiwei regained his spirits. Next, Jiang Cenyun was going to entertain all the officials, while he went to Laiyi Palace to wait.

"I'll be back soon," she whispered in his ear.

"I will wait for your majesty."

This wait lasted from the time the sun set in the west until the night turned black. When Jiang Cenyun arrived at Laiyi Palace, his steps were a little unsteady. He complained, "I've never seen them so bold before, but today they kept drinking with me and repeatedly stopped me from leaving."

"Maybe they have been holding a grudge for a long time." Li Xiwei said.

"Hmm? To me? Is the Queen starting to influence me?"

"No." Li Xiwei recounted the scene of the welcoming ceremony during the day. Jiang Cenyun laughed, holding his stomach. "Hahaha, they must have endured a lot. Who was the ceremonial officer who read the eulogy? I will reward her handsomely!"

"A moment of spring night is worth a thousand gold coins. Your Majesty, please don't think about those irrelevant people." Li Xiwei gently pulled the corner of her clothes.

"Okay, I'll listen to the Queen." She smiled and patted his hand.

The candlelight flickers and the warm fragrance becomes stronger.

"Xiwei..."

"Um?"

"Think of a name for your daughter."

The Queen, who had originally held the initiative, was stunned and immediately fell into disgrace.

"Hahaha, all's fair in war! Darling, let me do it!"

This emperor and empress, whose names are recorded in history, have started a new chapter in their lives from today.
