Chapter 721 Rong Qingqing is taken hostage

Rong Qingqing breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm fine. Thank you all for your hard work."

As soon as she finished speaking, her body tensed up, an instinctive reaction to danger.

She didn't dare turn her head, and reached for the curtain without making a sound, but as soon as her hand touched the curtain, a cold dagger was pressed against her neck.

The hairs on her body stood on end, her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her throat, and she tried to calm herself down. "Brave warrior, let's talk this out. No matter how much silver you want, I can give it to you."

He wondered to himself, how did this person manage to slip past Jiangzhou and the others? Yes, this person must have taken advantage of the fighting in front and the lack of defense in the back, and cut open the tent from behind to get in.

Thinking of this, she frowned. This person is so cunning.

"Go!" The person behind her remained unmoved, but pushed her, so she had no choice but to lift the curtain and walk out.

Jiang Zhou was dealing with the captured assassins when he saw Rong Qingqing suddenly appear. He was somewhat surprised and was about to ask her what her orders were when he was shocked to see the dagger on her neck and the assassins walking out behind her.

The others were equally horrified. They ignored the captured assassins and drew their swords, surrounding the assassins who were holding Rong Qingqing hostage.

"If you don't want her to lose a single hair, release him and retreat one mile." The assassin standing behind Rong Qingqing glanced at the blood-soaked assassin lying on the ground and said in a deep voice.

Jiang Zhou had calmed down by now. He placed his hand on the hilt of his sword and said in a deep voice, "We can release the person, but we can't back down. Who knows if you can keep your promise?"

“You have no choice.” The assassin said, pressing down on the dagger in his hand, and blood immediately spurted from Rong Qingqing’s neck.

Rong Qingqing felt the pain, but she didn't cry out. She quickly thought of a way to escape.

Seeing that she had been kidnapped, Jiangzhou and his men were worried that the assassins would harm her, so they would be hesitant to act rashly.

Seeing the red mark on her neck, the assassin's pupils contracted, and he gripped his dagger tighter.

Jiangzhou and the others were shocked. They glanced at Rong Qingqing and had no choice but to retreat with their men.

Rong Qingqing's eyes darkened, and she suddenly said, "I know who you are."

The assassin behind her paused, then said in a gruff voice, "Then Your Majesty, tell me who I am. If you tell me correctly, I might take pity on you and let you go."

“You don’t actually want to kill me. I guess we’re acquaintances,” Rong Qingqing said with certainty.

The assassin was somewhat surprised, then said sarcastically, "Where does your confidence come from? And how do you know I don't intend to kill you?"

"Because you don't have any killing intent on you," Rong Qingqing said calmly.

The assassin paused for a moment, then suddenly pressed the dagger against her skin. "Then you're wrong. I wish I could kill you as soon as possible."

"Feng Mo!" Rong Qingqing suddenly shouted.

The assassin behind him paused, suddenly sensing something amiss behind him. He tensed up and was about to turn around when a cloud of powder suddenly rained down on him.

He was startled and was about to leave with Rong Qingqing when everything went black before his eyes, and he collapsed to the ground.

Before losing consciousness, he saw that the person who had ambushed him from behind was an unassuming old man, and a look of absurdity flashed in his eyes.

Rong Qingqing's back was soaked with cold sweat, her legs went weak, and she almost fell.

"Your Majesty!" Doctor Xu rushed over from behind and helped her up.

Rong Qingqing composed herself and thanked him, "Thank you, Doctor Xu!"

Doctor Xu released his grip, shook his head, and said with lingering fear, "It was Her Majesty's cleverness that distracted the assassin; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to successfully launch the sneak attack. But how did Her Majesty know I was behind her?"
