Anger flashed across Feng Mo's face, his hatred for Xie Jingrun reaching its peak, but his expression remained calm. "Commander Xie, you don't need to use the Emperor's safety to pressure me at every turn. Do you think I wouldn't care about my father's safety?"
"Whether Your Highness cares or not, you know it in your heart. There's no need to announce it to the world. What I've done is merely fulfilling my duty," Xie Jingrun said calmly.
Seeing that her brother and Jingrun were arguing, Fengxin felt a little guilty. "Then Jingrun should still get checked."
Emperor Zhaojing tried to smooth things over, saying, "Xin'er, don't mind him. Xingxiu was just following protocol; he wasn't targeting you." With that, he quickly took a bite of the fish, but as soon as the fish entered his mouth, his expression changed.
"Your Majesty?" Everyone was startled and quickly helped him up.
Feng Xin also panicked. Could there really be poison in the fish?

Upon seeing this, Emperor Zhaojing quickly waved his hand, "I'm fine, but isn't this fish undercooked?" With that, he spat out the fish meat from his mouth.
Feng Xin was taken aback. She took the fish from his hand, examined it, and found that the fish meat inside did indeed seem to be raw. She immediately frowned in confusion, "That shouldn't be the case. I clearly grilled it for a long time, and the outside was burnt."
