Xiao Zhen rubbed her head, looked at the horse she was leading, and said with some surprise, "You can ride a horse?"
"No," Rong Qingqing said honestly. "But Father can teach me."
Xiao Zhen smiled indulgently, helped her onto the horse, and then took the reins from her hand, saying, "Father will lead the horse for you."
Rong Qingqing felt a little embarrassed upon hearing this, "It's quite far from the city gate. Wouldn't walking there take up too much of your time?"
"No." Xiao Zhen tossed his horse to Zhou Peng, then led his daughter's horse slowly toward the city gate.
He was feeling reluctant to part with his daughter because he hadn't spent enough time with her, and he also felt guilty for not being able to spend more time with her. Unexpectedly, she got up early to come and see him off.
Xiao Zhen turned around and looked at the girl sitting on the horse, feeling warm and touched.
Now, his daughter is his only solace.
Although he hoped his daughter would come with him to Suzhou, he didn't want to force her.
The road leading out of the city is not short, but we will eventually reach our destination.
Xiao Zhen looked at the city gate and sighed.
After leaving the city, he stopped and handed the reins to another guard.
"Qingqing, you should go back now. Your father is about to leave." He turned around and said to his daughter on horseback.
Rong Qingqing held onto the saddle, wanting to dismount.
Xiao Zhen rushed forward and helped her down.
"Father, please take good care of yourself and don't overwork yourself," Rong Qingqing said sincerely.
“I know. You must take good care of yourself while you are alone in the manor. If anything happens, tell Steward Hong. If you have any difficult decisions, have Zhao Yong send me a message.” Xiao Zhen stroked her hair and gently instructed her.
"I understand." Rong Qingqing looked at the reluctance in her father's eyes and felt a similar reluctance to part with him.
Although the father and daughter spent little time together, Xiao Zhen treated her with utmost care, always putting her first and cherishing her dearly.
She couldn't refuse a father like that.
Looking at his slender and petite daughter, Xiao Zhen felt a great deal of helplessness and worry.
But he absolutely had to go to Suzhou.
Finally, he sighed helplessly, took the reins from Zhou Peng, and mounted his horse.
"Zhao Yong, escort the princess back." He said to one of the guards behind Rong Qingqing.
"Yes," Zhao Yong replied respectfully.
After taking one last look at his daughter, Xiao Zhen hardened his heart, threw down his whip, and rode away with a few guards.
Rong Qingqing walked a few steps forward until Xiao Zhen was out of sight, then turned around and returned to the city with her people.
"Princess, please mount your horse," Zhao Yong said respectfully as he stepped forward.
Rong Qingqing shook her head. "I want to take a walk."
Upon hearing this, Zhao Yong took the reins and silently followed behind her.
On the city gate, Feng Mo, who had been gazing into the distance, noticed Rong Qingqing. He paused, then turned and descended the city wall.
As soon as Rong Qingqing entered the city, she frowned slightly when she saw the man coming towards her, and curtsied to him, saying, "This humble woman greets the Third Prince."
Feng Mo looked at her with a somewhat complicated expression, "You've been granted the title of Princess, and I haven't congratulated you yet."
Rong Qingqing straightened up, glanced at him upon hearing this, and said, "Your Highness is busy with many affairs of state. My matters are truly insignificant. Your Highness need not trouble yourself with them."
Seeing her aloof demeanor, Feng Mo felt very uncomfortable and said mockingly, "Rong Qingqing, when did we become so distant?"
