Chapter Fifty-Seven: Venting the Original Owner's Anger

Seeing this, Rong Shiqing finally felt relieved.

In truth, Qingqing was just a young girl, and no matter how hard she tried, she didn't have much strength. Chen's screams were definitely intentional, meant to deceive her mother.

Moreover, if the servants were to beat him, Chen would surely lose half his life. Even if he did it himself, he wouldn't hold back much. It would be better to let Qingqing beat him.

With that thought, he stopped paying attention to Madam Chen, and served the tea to the old lady.

The old lady took the teacup, took a sip, and then said weakly, "I've been lying here for so long and just woke up. I didn't feel it before, but now I'm really hungry. Go and make me some porridge."

Although Rong Shiqing was worried about Chen Shi, he dared not neglect his mother's instructions and hurriedly went out.

No sooner had he left than Rong Qingqing rolled up her sleeves, brandished a rattan cane, and lashed Chen Shi hard across the body.

"Aunt Chen, please bear with it. It's only been fifty strokes, and I've only hit you five times. There are still forty-five more to go. I'll try to be gentle." As she spoke, her hands didn't hold back. She used all her strength to strike Chen Shi with all her might, determined to vent her anger for the original owner of this body.

Before Chen could react, she was whipped until she collapsed to the ground.

Just as she was about to get up, another barrage of whippings landed on her back, shoulders, buttocks, and even her legs were whipped several times. She winced in pain and was about to cry for help when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her mouth. The cane had actually struck her mouth.

Instantly, she tasted blood in her mouth, and as she opened her mouth, a front tooth fell out.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I missed. That's thirty hits already, Aunt Chen, hang in there!" Rong Qingqing said in a panic, but her movements were anything but hesitant.

Chen felt dizzy from the slap and suddenly regretted it. Why did she admit her mistake?

Even if she doesn't admit her mistake, they have no evidence, so what can they do to her?

Ms. Chen was filled with remorse.

Just then, a figure suddenly rushed in from outside, accompanied by a shrill scream, "Mother... Sister, how could you hit my mother?"

Upon hearing this, Rong Qingqing knew that Rong Yiyi had returned. The rattan cane that was originally meant for Chen Shi suddenly changed direction and struck Rong Yiyi, who was rushing over, with heavy force.

Rong Yiyi never expected that while she was still behind her, the vine would suddenly turn and strike her instead.

Caught off guard, she was struck squarely, and half of her shoulder went numb.

She stood there, stunned, staring at Rong Qingqing in disbelief.

Rong Qingqing seemed surprised to have been hit, and was momentarily stunned. "Yiyi, why did you suddenly rush over?" she asked, quickly dropping the rattan cane and helping her up. "Did it hurt you?"

Rong Yiyi was in so much pain she couldn't speak, her eyes instantly filling with tears. She ignored her, instead turning her head to look towards the door, her hand on her shoulder, and said pitifully, "Your Highness..."

Rong Qingqing followed her gaze and then realized that Feng Mo had been standing by the door at some point.

He stood with his back to the light, his face obscured and difficult to read.

However, Rong Qingqing could still feel his gaze on her.

As if just realizing what was happening, she curtsied to him, saying, "This old woman greets the Third Prince."

Upon hearing this self-reference, Feng Mo's temple throbbed, and he looked at her with some astonishment.

It seemed that every time they met, she always surprised him.

Was the blow she just struck Rong Yiyi really unintentional?
