Qin Su looked at Mo Lan's cold expression, then at the soldier with his head down, and gave a stern order.
"Return the wild boar. There are no boundaries in the hunting area; the capable should occupy it. Stop making trouble. As soldiers, we value ability, not words."
As soon as Qin Su spoke, the soldier knelt down with a thud, trembling with fear, "Yes, young master."
Mo Lan waved her hand. "Cui Sheng, give them a leg. Whether they did it willingly or unwillingly, they still participated. Go back and tell the hunters that if a wild boar can cause trouble, it's because they're not capable enough. Replace them and send them to the training camp for retraining."
Upon hearing his boss's instructions, Cui Sheng's face paled, and he lowered his head sheepishly.
"Yes, boss."
The leader was angry. The ten-man hunting team had been made so miserable by a wild boar; they definitely deserved to be punished.
After everyone had left, Mo Lan turned to Qin Su and said, "I see. Your soldiers are arrogant and look down on us people from the mountains. If one person is like this, I assume that all of you are. If you can't be strict with yourselves, how can you judge others?"
Qin Su raised an eyebrow, indicating that she had a problem with him.
Before Qin Su could speak, Ting Yu couldn't help but speak up.
“Miss Mo Lan, it’s just a little bit of wild game, nothing to get angry about. Too many people cause trouble. It’s my fault as the head guard that I didn’t manage things well. I’ll definitely give him a good talking to when we get back. If the young master gets involved, those soldiers will be dead. So, you can continue drinking your tea. Leave the rest to me.”
Mo Lan looked at Ting Yu and listened to his tone. She couldn't help but twitch her lips. She was warning him about the issue of prejudice, but Ting Yu steered the conversation to something as trivial as food, making a mountain out of a molehill and accusing her of making a mountain out of a molehill? Arguing with a mere soldier?
This is just a roundabout way of saying that I'm being petty.
"I'm petty and a bit biased, and I can't tolerate the slightest injustice. Guard Tingyu, don't misunderstand me next time, or I won't show any mercy, even in front of your master."
"Also, my matter is resolved, and those who should be punished have been punished. As for your matter, how you resolve it is your own problem, and I have no interest in knowing."
As Mo Lan spoke, she turned to look at Qin Su, "See? I'm just not good at chatting, and I don't care about people's feelings."
Qin Su stroked the teacup, concealing the smile in his eyes. Even though her gaze was sharp and cold, he did not feel offended.
In his eyes, the woman in front of him was like a wildcat, who, because of her possessiveness of food, could scratch him with her sharp claws at any moment.
"Don't be angry, girl. Actually, I admire your straightforwardness. It makes you easier to get along with. Don't take Tingyu's words seriously. It's a common problem for doctors. They talk on and on all day long. Sometimes it gives me a headache too."
Tingyu was stunned. He looked at his master in disbelief. Was he being rejected?
"What are you standing there for? Go gather your herbs," Qin Su shook his head, looking rather helpless.
“Yes, young master.” Tingyu, her face flushed, glanced at Molan, gritted her teeth, and turned to leave.
Why does he think his master has forgotten his friends for the sake of a beautiful woman?
However, this woman is really protective of her own.
"Please sit down, young lady. We don't need to chat; just drink tea."
Qin Su now understood Mo Lan's earlier hint; his subordinates were indeed a bit too arrogant.
