Chapter Ninety-Five: Professional Heart-Piercing

Looking at his bright smile, his nearly 1.9-meter height, leaning on a wooden stick, and his constant movement closer to her, Mo Lan was speechless.

"Miss Mo Lan, are you going out again?" Karen looked at Mo Lan, who was dressed in black, and her blue eyes shone even brighter.

“Okay, go out for a walk,” Mo Lan said, looking at him. “Your leg is injured, so rest more to avoid any lasting effects.”

"Uncle Lin told me to move around more when I have nothing to do."

Although he didn't understand what "aftereffects" meant, he understood the first two sentences and thought that Mo Lan was concerned about him. Karen's smile became even brighter. "Miss Mo Lan, may I go for a walk with you?"

"No, I'd be a burden." Looking at the cane in his hand, Mo Lan refused without even thinking.

"Oh? Is that so? Then I'll wait for you to come back."

Hearing Mo Lan's refusal, Karen's face darkened, and a hint of disappointment flashed in her eyes, leaving Mo Lan speechless.

How can a grown man be so childish?

Fortunately, the person has woken up. After resting for a while, we'll send them away as soon as possible, so they won't keep hovering in front of us all the time.

Thinking this, Mo Lan ignored him and turned to leave. She was going to White Tiger Cliff today.

Only after Mo Lan's figure disappeared did Karen withdraw her gaze and turn to walk down the corridor. "Hua Hua, is your sister always this cold?"

"Don't call me Hua Hua anymore."

Upon hearing Karen mention the word "flower," Hua Fengyu's forehead veins throbbed.

Hearing those two words from a grown man made him feel inexplicably embarrassed, and he had an urge to punch him.

"Uh? What's wrong with Hua Hua? Isn't that your surname? It sounds nice, doesn't it?"

Karen blinked her big blue eyes, looking at Hua Fengyu, whose complexion wasn't good, with a bewildered expression.

Hua Fengyu pursed his lips, suppressing his emotions, "...Just call me Hua Fengyu!"

"Well, Feng Yu, what a shy boy."

Karen was silent for a moment, then a knowing smile appeared on his lips. He had almost forgotten that the people inside the pass were different from the free and easygoing people outside the pass; they were mostly more reserved and introverted.

"Fengyu, my dear Anda, since you're free, let me tell you about the beautiful grasslands beyond the Great Wall."

There were only the two of them in the courtyard. Bored, Karen leaned on her cane and quietly sat down next to Hua Fengyu, and began to speak with great interest.

"What does 'Good Anda' mean?" Although Hua Fengyu didn't like Karen's personality, he was still very curious about the customs and culture of the border region.

"It means good brothers." Karen sat under the eaves, her tone light and cheerful, as if she had been thinking about something.

"Unlike the reserved nature of you people inside the pass, we people from beyond the Great Wall are bold and uninhibited. Even girls can take the initiative to pursue and confess their feelings to a boy they like."

Hua Fengyu: "..."

"You don't believe me? Once my injuries heal, I'll take you to see the frontier. After you see our beautiful grasslands, you might not want to come back..."

Unfortunately, before Karen could finish speaking, Hua Fengyu interrupted her, "No need, it's not safe for me to be with you."

Karen: "......"

After a brief pause, Karen suddenly clutched her heart.

It felt like my heart had been stabbed hard.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Did I say something wrong? Otherwise, how did you get all these injuries? If it weren't for my sister, you would have been eaten by wild beasts long ago!"
