Chapter One: Forced Betrothal

A series of clattering sounds followed as a panicked little girl burst in!

The jarring crash and the sudden flash of light made the person lying in bed frown. It was so noisy!

Before she could utter a reprimand, another panicked cry rang in her ears: "Waaah... Miss, wake up! Something terrible has happened, waaah..."

Something terrible has happened?

Pshaw, with her like that ruthless abbess keeping things in check, what kind of trouble could possibly arise?

Mo Lan scoffed inwardly.

"Young Miss, why aren't you awake yet...?"

Hearing the terrified cries around her, Mo Lan felt a surge of irritation. Her outstretched hand felt as if it were weighed down by a thousand-pound boulder; she managed to utter only two words with all her might.

"Shut up," it's so noisy!

After I started scolding her, she woke up and saw a little face covered in tears!

Mo Lan twitched her lips. What's going on?

When did she start having such a young child with her?

In her daze, a sudden sharp pain shot through her head, followed by a flood of memories that weren't hers...

Holy crap... Holy crap...

Looking at this unfamiliar environment, Mo Lan closed her eyes briefly, her lips twitching involuntarily.

She was paid to do someone else's dirty work. Before the incident, she remembered that she had just escorted a fleet out of Somalia safely and then had a celebration banquet with her brothers.

Then a few more acquaintances from the underworld showed up, turning the victory celebration into a trap...

Thinking back to her situation at the time, a self-mocking glint flashed in Mo Lan's deep, cold eyes. She had actually been stabbed in the back by the person she knew best!

Her partner of eight years, the guy she personally pulled out of a pile of death, actually betrayed her from within!

Indeed, human nature is greedy!

Thinking of this, Mo Lan opened her hands, and when she saw the red mark on her palm, a bewitching and icy smile appeared on her lips.

How could her things be so easily obtained?

As an excellent cleaner, how can you do it without some outstanding skills?

She, who loves diving, accidentally discovered an underwater tomb.

Out of curiosity, I took a stroll through an ancient tomb that had witnessed countless vicissitudes.

She had no interest in tomb raiding.

Making deals with living people is her consistent style; taking money to solve problems for others is always a matter of mutual consent.

She would never bully a dead person!

Unexpectedly, when I was about to leave after taking a stroll, I encountered an illusion.

It took quite a bit of effort to finally get out of trouble.

Later, I learned that the reason why this underwater tomb was so well preserved and had lasted for so long was because a tomb spirit had been born!

In exchange, the tomb spirit gave her a Sumeru mustard seed.

The condition is that the ancient tomb must not be damaged, and information about the ancient tomb must not be revealed to the outside world.

The underwater tomb is on her territory; how can anyone be allowed to vandalize it and disturb her peace?

Therefore, the exchange was a logical step.

Although the tomb spirits are not human, they have clear thinking, and the exchange is fair.

The Sumeru mustard seed can contain all rivers; it also has another name, Mandala.

The tomb spirit came out with her, saying that she wanted to get some fresh air and see the world's wonders.

...Now it's all good, we're wearing the same clothes, so we're practically in the same boat!

I wonder if the illusion of the underwater tomb will dissipate after the tomb spirit leaves?

"Don't worry, boss. If no one deliberately sabotages it, that illusion will last for at least fifty years."

A weak voice echoed in Mo Lan's mind.

"A tomb spirit?"

Mo Lan was surprised. She had just tried to activate the mandala, but there was no response at all.

"Don't worry, boss. You're just lacking mental energy right now, which is why you can't open the mandala. You'll be fine in a while."

Mo Lan nodded, indicating her understanding.

Were you affected by this?

"The boss guessed right. I was born in a tomb and absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. It is my fate to suffer this calamity."

From now on, it can only reside within a mandala!

Mo Lan: "..."

Since I got the mandala, it's like I have a mobile warehouse with me, and I've collected a lot of good stuff.

From small items like food, daily necessities, and clothing, to large items like heavy industry vehicles and trucks, I've collected several models of various off-road vehicles alone.

As a maritime cleaner, she also spent a fortune buying warships and a flashy cruise ship...
