Chapter 3: The miserable bun and the irritating mother

After figuring this out, Zhou Xiao's expression became even gentler.

He simply squatted down, made eye contact with the little bun, and was about to touch the little bun's head with his right hand.

But such an ordinary action made the little boy subconsciously close his eyes and shrink his head, obviously looking like he was afraid that he would be hit.

Zhou Xiao's right hand froze. He didn't know whether to put his hand down or not, which made him extremely embarrassed.

Needless to say, this was another good thing done by the original owner, and my impression of the original owner was extremely bad.

You don’t have to think too much about the little boy’s subconscious behavior to know how many times he was beaten by her.

Even as a single woman, she knew that children’s heads should not be hit. What if they became stupid?

Zhou Xiao took a deep breath, as if he didn't notice the little bun's actions, and continued with his hands.

The right hand gently fell on the little bun's head and stroked it.

"Hanhan, little darling, have you made up your mind? Do you want to cook with mommy? Mommy is a great cook. If you miss it, you'll miss it!

Isn't Hanhan, little baby, very hungry? Trust mommy and let mommy cook for you, okay?

The hand caressing his head felt warm and unfamiliar, a warmth the little boy had never felt before. It made him very greedy, so he nodded as if possessed.

Zhou Xiao smiled happily after receiving the response from the little baby. In order to let the child eat earlier and not be hungry anymore, Zhou Xiao immediately got up and prepared to take the little bun to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat.

As a result, she overestimated her current physical condition and stood up so suddenly that Zhou Xiao's eyes went dark and he almost fell down.

Zhou Xiao was so frightened that he immediately leaned on the cabinet beside him to calm down.

It took a long time for him to recover. My goodness, it seems that the original owner's illness was serious.

"Mom~" the neglected little guy called out timidly.

Zhou Xiao quickly smiled at the little bun, "Don't worry, baby, mom is just getting angry.

It’s okay, come on, baby, let’s go to the kitchen, your little baby’s belly can do a symphony~”

Zhou Xiao teased Xiao Baozi, causing him to blush instantly.

She quickly held her belly and retorted: "No way, Hanhan just didn't eat today, that's why she didn't do the symphony!"

Although Hanhan didn't understand what a symphony was, she felt a little embarrassed by her mother's tone and retorted weakly.

But these words made Zhou Xiao's heart sink. He looked at the time through the clock on the bedside. It was already 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Little Baozi hadn't eaten yet?

Didn’t eat breakfast or lunch? This kid must be starving!

How could the original owner be a mother? She didn't cook for her child. Was she going to starve her son to death?

I used to think that this mother was a bit violent and liked to abuse her son, but she still had basic security. The little boy just had a hard life, but at least he had enough food and clothing.

But looking at this scene, it seems that she can't even eat enough? There is such a mother?

Zhou Xiao didn't dare to delay any longer, fearing that the little bun would get hungry and die if he delayed any longer, so he quickly grabbed the little bun's hand and prepared to rush to the kitchen, but...

"Ugh~" The little bun's cry of pain interrupted Zhou Xiao's actions again.

"What's going on? What's wrong with the baby?" Zhou Xiao immediately squatted down and checked the little bun's body with his eyes.

Seeing the little kid covering his hand, Zhou Xiao was so scared that he immediately let go of his hand, thinking that he had used too much force and hurt the little kid.

He hurriedly pulled up the little boy's clothes and was about to check, but this sight made Zhou Xiao angry again.

Because the little boy cried out in pain not because she hurt him, but because she touched his injured part.

The little bun's left and right hands are full of scars!

Purple pinch marks, scratch marks, bump marks, and even bruises from being whipped!

Zhou Xiao had never seen so many scars on a child before, not even on children in an orphanage.

Zhou Xiao was moved to tears by what she saw, and she didn't even dare to think about how many scars like this the little boy had on his body.

Gently grasping the little boy's wrist, Zhou Xiao asked while crying, "Did I hit him?"

Although I had some guesses, I still didn't give up and asked.

Because in her opinion, no mother would be so cruel to her own child! Even if the mother has a long criminal record.

But the little bun's confession completely shattered her fantasy and told her that there are such unscrupulous mothers in the world.

This made Zhou Xiao unable to hold back any longer and he hugged the little bun in his arms. Even his movements were cautious and gentle, for fear of accidentally touching the little bun's wound again.

Tears flowed freely. "I'm sorry, baby, I'm so sorry!

It's all Mom's fault, I'm sorry!" Zhou Xiao apologized to the little bun with tears in her eyes and even kissed the little bun gently on the cheek.

How could there be such a mother!

Even though she was an orphan and knew that there were irresponsible parents, she rarely saw a mother as cruel as Xiao Baozi.

Abusing her child and not feeding her—is that what a mother should do? Zhou Xiao hugged Hanhan in grief and burst into tears.

She cried her heart out for the little bun and for herself.

The little boy in the embrace was at a loss, because he had never remembered his mother hugging him so gently, and his mother even cried.

After being at a loss for a while, the little boy hesitantly broke free from Zhou Xiao's arms, put his little hands on Zhou Xiao's face, and gently wiped the tears from her face.

"Mommy, be good and don't cry. Hanhan doesn't feel any pain anymore and don't blame mom anymore. Mommy, don't cry. If you cry anymore, you won't be pretty anymore!" The little boy coaxed Zhou Xiao awkwardly, and his clumsy look made Zhou Xiao burst into laughter.
