Chapter 118 Call Lian Jin Dad

When the two arrived at the hospital, Qin Xier was still unconscious, but her clothes were quite disheveled.

Nanzhi felt a pang of heartache upon seeing her pale face.

Qin Xi'er's body was fine; she just fainted from shock. Nan Zhi didn't know what had happened and could only wait for Qin Xi'er to wake up.

About twenty minutes later, Qin Xi'er opened her eyes and saw Nan Zhi sitting by the bed. She immediately burst into tears.

"Zhizhi, sob sob... My cousin and Youyou were swept away by the sea."

Upon hearing this, Nan Zhi's heart nearly jumped out of her chest, and her face turned pale. "What happened?"

Qin Xi'er choked up, wiping away tears from the corners of her eyes, and recounted their experiences that day in fits and starts.

Nanzhi then learned that the three of them had spent a long time playing at the beach that day, and then planned to go to the small islands around Q country.

Who knew that halfway through the journey, when Lin Youyou and she were admiring the scenery on the deck, the ship was violently rocked by the waves. Lin Youyou was holding snacks and had not held onto the railing, so she accidentally fell overboard.

Qin Xi'er panicked. Neither Lin Youyou nor Qin Xi'er could swim. When Lian Jin found out, he jumped in without hesitation.

The crew quickly comforted Qin Xi'er and immediately called the police.

They should be searching for it in the sea right now.

In her panic, Qin Xi'er fainted and was only recently taken to the hospital.

After hearing Qin Xi'er's description, Nan Zhi's heart jumped into her throat. In the sea, one wrong move could mean certain death.

However, in front of Qin Xi'er, Nan Zhi still tried to remain calm, "Don't worry, they will be fine."

"You must rest well in the hospital and wait for them to come back, okay?"

Qin Xi'er gripped Nan Zhi's hand tightly, tears still glistening in her eyes, "Will you really come back?"

Nan Zhi smiled and nodded.

Qin Xi'er was relieved. She must have been quite traumatized today, because she fell asleep soon after.

Stepping outside, Nan Zhi saw Shen Xingmian standing at the door and her face was full of worry. "Will something have happened to them?"

Even the most composed Shen Xingmian dared not give Nanzhi any assurances at this moment. The sea was beautiful, yet mysterious and terrifying; no one knew whether they would have any chance of survival if they fell in.

"I've already called for more manpower. If we can't salvage it, that should be good news."

Nan Zhi was silent for a while, then thought about it and realized that as long as the person hadn't been found, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. "Why don't we put up missing person notices?"

Upon hearing Nan Zhi's suggestion, Shen Xingmian found it feasible. Q State had a branch of Xiyue Shengshi, and Shen Xingmian also had influence here, so he quickly instructed his subordinates to take care of it.

This is really upsetting. It's only the first day of my trip here and this has already happened.

When Lin Youyou woke up, she found herself in the hospital. She only remembered falling off the boat and then seeing Lian Jin jump off. Her memory before losing consciousness was Lian Jin looking at her anxious face, and then she knew nothing more.

She opened her eyes groggily and immediately became worried about whether Lian Jin was alright.

Just then, a nurse came by and, seeing her, said, "You're awake?"

Lin Youyou hurriedly asked her, "Where is the person who was with me?"

The nurse was taken aback at first, then realized what Lin Youyou meant, and said with a smile:

"That gentleman is still asleep; he's in the next room."

Lin Youyou suddenly sat up in bed, feeling a little dizzy. She rubbed her forehead and then tried to get out of bed.

The nurse stopped her, saying, "You're not fully recovered yet, you can't go down."

Lin Youyou brushed the nurse's hand away, "It's okay, I'm perfectly healthy."

After saying that, she stumbled out of the ward and went to the next room.

Upon entering, Lin Youyou saw Lian Jin lying on the bed, his face pale. Her eyes welled up with tears. She thought she was about to face death, but she never expected that Lian Jin would jump down without hesitation. During the process of sinking into the sea, she felt powerless and lost, feeling her breath gradually disappear. Death, she realized, was such a terrifying thing.

It was Lian Jin, Qin Xi'er's cousin, who saved her. Lin Youyou secretly made up her mind that Lian Jin would be her second parents from now on, and she must repay him well.

Walking to the bedside, Lin Youyou looked down at the lifeless Lian Jin, her face unconsciously turning icy cold.

Lin Youyou raised her arm and wiped her face, her hospital gown was soaked. She couldn't help but burst into tears, "Cousin Xi'er, please don't die! I was still thinking of repaying you."

"Waaah... Cousin Xi'er, you will be my second parents from now on. I will take good care of you, so you must wake up."

The more she spoke, the more tragically Lin Youyou cried, as if her parents had died.

"Cousin Xi'er, how could you die? Please wake up! My phone is gone, and I can't contact Zhizhi. What should I do?"

Tears flowed freely, making her look extremely pitiful. "Waaah... From now on, you're my dad. Even my own dad has never treated me like this. Cousin Xi'er, no, Dad, please wake up!"

Lian Jin was awakened by a chorus of cries. He opened his eyes with difficulty and immediately saw Lin Youyou crying her eyes out... no, wailing like a banshee.

"Lin Youyou, don't cry."

A weak voice suddenly rang out, making Lin Youyou stop crying. She then stared at Lian Jin, who had opened his eyes, and rushed over to him, "Daddy, you're finally awake! You're still alive! That's wonderful!"

Lian Jin: "..."

He said he looked confused and tried to pull Lin Youyou, who was hugging him, saying, "Lin Youyou, get up first, I'm not feeling well."

Lin Youyou slowly got up, then looked at Lian Jin with bright eyes and tear stains on her face, asking worriedly, "Dad, are you alright? Where does it hurt? Should I go call the doctor?"

After saying that, she turned to leave to call the doctor, but Lian Jin quickly grabbed her, his brow furrowed. He remained silent for a while before gritting his teeth and asking:

What did you just call me?

Lin Youyou: "Daddy."

Lian Jin: "..." He really didn't mishear; this girl, five years younger than him, was calling him "Dad."

Thinking of this, Lian Jin's mood soured, and he spoke with a stern face:

"I'm not your father. Have you lost your memory?"

Lin Youyou quickly waved her hand. She looked at Lian Jin solemnly and earnestly, her little mouth opening and closing as she spoke, "Dad, listen to me. A drop of kindness should be repaid with a spring of gratitude. You saved my life, so you are my second parents. My own father has never cared for me like this. Calling you Dad is a decision I made after careful consideration. I will definitely repay you well in the future."

After she finished speaking, she raised her fist as if making a vow, her pupils filled with seriousness, without any other emotions.

Lian Jin: "..."

This child's thought process is probably different from others.
