The subtle actions between Nan Zhi and Shen Xingmian appeared to Nan's parents like those of a loving young couple. They knew that Shen Xingmian was good to Nan Zhi, but as parents, they couldn't help but worry. The more they observed, the more at ease they felt.
"Xingmian is here too, so let's go out for dinner tonight and also treat Chaoci."
Bai Yarou turned her head and smiled as she spoke to Nan's father beside her, who naturally nodded in agreement.
When Shen Xingmian faced Nan's parents, although he didn't smile, his expression was gentle. He began by saying:
"Let me take everyone to eat. My cousin has come all this way, and I feel it's my and Zhizhi's duty to entertain him."
As he spoke, his gaze fell on Xu Chaoci. "What do you think, cousin?"
To an outsider, it was just a simple sentence, but Xu Chaoci heard a hint of gritted teeth in Shen Xingmian's words. He glanced at him indifferently and said, "It's fine, I'll listen to Zhizhi."
His answer greatly displeased Shen Xingmian. Zhizhi was his, and yet this mere cousin dared to try and take her from him. Just thinking about it made Shen Xingmian feel indignant. Since Xu Chaoci arrived, he and Nanzhi hadn't had much time for in-depth conversations.
Nan Zhi was always busy with the competition, and Xu Chaoci took up most of her free time, which shows Shen Xingmian's mood at the moment.
"Nanzhi, listen to me."
Nan Zhi: "..." No, I'll listen to myself.
But at this moment, all she could do was smile and say to Xu Chaoci:
"Cousin, don't mind it, it's all the same wherever you go."
