Faced with Zhang Hong's questioning, the vice president adjusted his glasses and glanced at the president.
The president stood up abruptly, his gaze sweeping over the crowd below before finally settling on Zhang Hong. "You didn't plagiarize, but your teammate did. We will issue a nationwide notice against plagiarists, who will be permanently banned from participating in any fashion design competitions."
Zhang Hong was stunned. She subconsciously looked at Li Weiwei. Li Weiwei's heart skipped a beat, and only one thought came to her mind: "We're doomed."
Is it her?
Faced with the prospect of personal gain, Zhang Hong disregarded any sense of team camaraderie and pointed directly at Li Weiwei, drawing everyone's attention to her.
Nan Zhi looked at Li Weiwei. No wonder she felt she had seen Li Weiwei's work before; it was the original owner's design.
The president looked at Li Weiwei, nodded coldly, and said that plagiarists should not be tolerated and that such people should not remain in the design industry.
Li Weiwei was so nervous that her back was sweating. She shook her head and said, "I... I didn't plagiarize Sole's work. That's not Sole's."
Seeing her say that, Song Mengmeng took her phone and walked over, placing it in front of her. "Look for yourself, this is Sole's work from three years ago. Do you still want to argue?"
Upon seeing the photo, Li Weiwei's eyes widened in disbelief. It was clearly given to her by Sister Chu Chu. She turned her gaze to Lian Chu Chu, whose brows were furrowed with worry as she looked at Li Weiwei with concern.
The initial suspicion that had just arisen in Li Weiwei's heart lessened; there must have been some misunderstanding.
She couldn't doubt Sister Chu Chu, so she spoke up:
"This is my own idea. Why do you accuse me of plagiarism? Does looking alike mean it's plagiarism? I don't admit it."
Faced with Li Weiwei's sophistry, Zhang Hong was furious. "You plagiarized and you still think you're right? Because of you, you jinx, my spot was also taken away. What sins have I committed in my past lives to be in the same group as you?"
Seeing that Li Weiwei was still stubborn, the president was unwilling to say more. He said:
"Li Weiwei, your name will be completely erased from the design world from now on. You will no longer have the right to participate in any domestic design competitions. The results of Li Weiwei's two team members in this competition have been cancelled."
After saying that, the president left from backstage. Li Weiwei slumped into her chair, her future completely ruined.
Unable to hold back her tears, Zhang Hong felt utterly wronged, simply because she had teamed up with a plagiarist.
She couldn't help but reach out and grab Li Weiwei's hair, shaking it wildly. "It's all your fault, you bitch! You ruined me! I could have gone to the world competition! Why don't you just die?"
Zhang Hong was very emotionally unstable, so someone came up to stop her. But Zhang Hong was furious at the moment, and she was very strong. She punched and kicked Li Weiwei, unable to vent her anger.
"This is an opportunity I've waited so many years for, and you've ruined it all, utterly ruined it."
As she spoke, Zhang Hong burst into tears. Indeed, this was the result of someone's years of hard work, but she was implicated because of others, and everyone felt sorry for her.
When Zhang Hong was finally pulled away, Li Weiwei's hair was disheveled, and her face had several obvious scratches, making her look extremely disheveled.
Zhang Hong was taken away by security guards. Li Weiwei sat there in a sorry state, and no one cared about her, since what she had done was something everyone disliked.
An Ran stood next to Nan Zhi, having recovered from the shock of her own bad luck. "Nan Zhi, look at her, she's quite pitiful."
Nan Zhi looked at Li Weiwei without speaking, but Cheng Yi frowned and said:
"There is always something hateful about a pitiful person."
If no one discovers that she plagiarized, it becomes an unfair competition.
After everyone had mostly left, Lian Chuchu walked up to Li Weiwei, reached out and tugged at her sleeve, "Weiwei, you..."
Li Weiwei brushed her hand away, lifted her tear-streaked face, and roared:
"Get away from me."
Lian Chuchu's eyes immediately reddened. "I'm sorry, Weiwei, it's all my fault."
Seeing Li Weiwei's ungrateful attitude, Song Mengmeng spoke angrily:
"Li Weiwei, what right do you have to treat Chuchu like this? Wang even spoke well of you in front of us, and you repay kindness with enmity?"
Lian Chuchu tugged at Song Mengmeng, "Mengmeng, don't say anything, it's all my fault."
However, in Song Mengmeng's ears, it was indeed true that Lian Chuchu felt guilty for discovering Li Weiwei's plagiarism, so she spoke up:
"It has nothing to do with you. You begged us not to say anything. You've already done more than enough for Li Weiwei."
Li Weiwei naturally heard what Song Mengmeng said. In reality, she was just venting. Sister Chu Chu must not know that Sole's design draft was mixed in, otherwise she would have exposed herself to everyone in the first competition.
"Mengmeng, you go with Brother Qi Hao first, I'll stay with Weiwei."
Lian Chuchu looked at Song Mengmeng and Qi Hao with pleading eyes, and the two agreed and left.
Nan Zhi glanced at Lian Chuchu, a slight smile playing on her lips. Li Weiwei was truly pitiful.
This matter must be complicated, otherwise why would Li Weiwei be so agitated towards Lian Chuchu? It's clearly related to her.
Nan Zhi lost interest in watching any longer, so she turned around and left with An Ran and Cheng Yi.
Just as she left the venue, someone caught up with her, saying, "Miss Nan, please wait."
Nanzhi stopped and turned to look. It was a young man, who seemed to be a staff member of the association. She had seen him a few times before.
"You were looking for me?"
The man nodded and said with a smile:
"Our president would like to have a talk with you. Is that a convenient time for you?"
Nan Zhi was taken aback; she had no connection with the president.
Nan Zhi turned to look at An Ran and Cheng Yi, "You two go first, I'll go for a bit."
An Ran and Cheng Yi nodded and left.
The man then led Nanzhi to the president's office, which was on the top floor of the association. Nanzhi thought about it the whole way but still couldn't understand what it meant.
She tried asking the man, but he also said he didn't know.
He silently led Nanzhi to the president's office.
The president's name is Lu Chao. "President Lu, Miss Nan has arrived."
The president looked up, saw Nanzhi, stood up, walked straight to the door, asked the man to leave, and led Nanzhi to the reception area.
After letting Nanzhi sit on the sofa, he personally poured her a glass of water.
Nan Zhi was suspicious. Holding the cup, she smiled and thanked her, "Thank you, Chairman. Is there something you need from me?"
Lu Chao, a sixty-year-old man, looked at Nan Zhi with the air of a grandfather looking at his great-grandson. His face was radiant, a far cry from his imposing presence at the meeting.
"Miss Nan, I have something I'd like to ask for your opinion on. Please listen carefully to what I'm about to say."
Nanzhi put down her water glass, sat upright on the sofa, and nodded seriously.
