Chapter 187 The Vanished Design

Lin Youyou gave him a strange look, then said:

"This was drawn by Zhizhi when she was little. It certainly wasn't very good at first."

It's already quite an achievement for a child to design clothes, but Lin Youyou still didn't want Lin Feifan to belittle Nanzhi, who was her good friend.

"I'll just take a look; I won't comment."

The man's long legs were crossed, and he casually leaned against the back of the sofa, reaching out to turn to the first page of the design drawings.

March 24, 2007

These were all drawn more than ten years ago. Nan Zhi was probably just a primary school student. This picture really looks... indescribable.

Lin Feifan couldn't help but purse his lips and try to smile.

He flipped through the pages one by one, and the more he looked, the more his brow furrowed. Some of the designs seemed familiar.

However, he could see Nan Zhi's progress. This woman seemed to really like design, having preserved such old design drawings. Moreover, she had done a great job without any professional training.

Until Lin Feifan saw the date July 3, 2009.

After looking at it for more than ten minutes, he could see that the design drawings for Nanzhi were done every seven days, and were very meticulously drawn. However, the date after "day" was simply 2009.7.17.

If you look closely, you can see the tear marks in the middle.

The thought of that familiar feeling made him suddenly stand up, his face filled with panic.

As soon as Lin Youyou looked up, she saw Lin Feifan's back as he left with the notebook.

She frowned, but didn't pay it any mind.

Lin Feifan staggered into his bedroom, went straight to the bedside table, squatted down, opened the drawer, and took out a notebook.

With trembling hands, he opened the notebook, from which fell a well-preserved sheet of paper with a drawing of a garment on it, dated July 10, 2009.

Lin Feifan incredulously opened Nan Zhi's design notebook to the missing page, placed it on the ground, and picked up the design drawing he had taken out to compare it.

Whether it's the paper, the immature design style, or the tear after it was torn, everything matches perfectly.

Lin Feifan knelt there, his eyes welling up with tears. Even though he had been betrayed by Lian Chuchu and Gu Ying, he didn't feel like crying.

But at that moment, tears unexpectedly slid down her cheeks.

The ticking sound fell on the paper, and it also struck Lin Feifan's heart hard.

He let out a hoarse sob. Men don't easily shed tears, but Lin Feifan's crying at this moment was heartbreaking.

He slowly curled up on the ground, pounding his fists on the carpet, making dull "thump-thump" sounds, one after another.

Lin Feifan was burning with anxiety, overwhelmed by a feeling of being torn apart and pricked by needles.

Lin Feifan deliberately lowered his voice to make the heart-wrenching cries sound even more distressing.

After a long while, the man finally sat up from the ground, his eyes red and glistening with tears. He leaned weakly against the bed and couldn't help but laugh, a laugh filled with mockery, regret, and helplessness.

He recalled that summer when he ran away from home after being scolded by his father. It was in a park in Beijing that he met that little girl.

She sat on the swing, looking very unhappy, holding a notebook and a pen in her hand, seemingly troubled about something.

He moved closer to her and heard her mutter to herself, "Should this be like this? Hmm... no, too cliché."

Kobayashi was startled and made a sound.

The girl looked up from the swing, and Lin Feifan realized for the first time what it meant to have "sparkling eyes" as his Chinese teacher had described it.

"What are you doing?"

Lin Feifan awkwardly asked the question first.

The moment the little girl saw him, she seemed to suddenly realize something. Instead of responding to Lin Feifan's words, she lowered her head and began to draw rapidly.

No matter how much Lin Feifan bothered her, she remained unmoved. After ten minutes, she stood up, bowed to Lin Feifan, and thanked him, "Thank you."

Lin Feifan was completely bewildered. He scratched his head and asked, "Why are you thanking me?"

The little girl gave a bright smile, her smile as beautiful as a flower. Xiao Linfei couldn't think of any more words to describe it, and he stood there stunned.

It wasn't until the girl showed him her artwork that he understood. "I painted this after seeing you, so it belongs to you."

Lin Feifan looked at the little skirt on it and couldn't help but get annoyed. "I'm a boy, how could you give me a skirt?"

The girl smiled, her eyes crinkling, "This is yours."

After saying that, she carefully tore it off with her chubby little hands and handed it to Lin Feifan, saying, "This is for you."

Lin Feifan was forced to accept the gift and sat on the swing with the girl, and they started chatting.

The girl probably didn't have many friends either. She chatted with Xiaolin Feifan, and before she knew it, it was dark.

“I come here every day. If you want to talk to someone, come find me.”

After saying that, she waved goodbye to him and left.

For the next two days, Lin Feifan secretly went to this small park every day to chat with the girl.

One day, the girl suddenly became unhappy. She sat on the swing and cried very sadly. Xiao Lin Feifan asked her what was wrong.

Since they were just children, the girl cried and told her story. It turned out that her mother was not her biological mother. She was very sad and didn't know what to do.
