He took two steps toward that direction and stared at the waiter:
"You're the victim, aren't you?"
The waiter nodded, his voice trembling.
Nanzhi continued to look at her, "Could you describe what just happened?"
The waiter was in tears, trembling and too afraid to speak.
Li Weiwei was right next to the waiter.
She chuckled and snorted:
"Nan Zhi, do you also want to kick Qin Xi'er while she's down?"
Not far away, Qin Xi'er clenched her hands, which were hanging by her sides.
Nan Zhi ignored Li Weiwei and continued looking at the waiter, "Please answer my questions carefully."
The waiter lowered his head and spoke in a very low voice:
"It was me... I tripped and accidentally spilled the wine on that lady."
Nanzhi nodded. "And then?"
The waiter timidly raised his head, glanced in Qin Xi'er's direction, and then lowered his head again.
He acted out his fear and terror with great intensity.
Nan Zhi was certain that the person had just been looking at Lian Chuchu, not Qin Xi'er.
With a slight smile, she wanted to see what other tricks this man had up his sleeve.
"I...I'm sorry, but...I didn't mean to."
As the waitress began to cry, Nanzhi frowned:
"Tell me, what happened? Why are you crying like this? Don't worry, everyone here is here to stand up for you."
The waiter then spoke haltingly, wiping away tears:
"That lady got angry, yelled at me a few times, and even... even tried to hit me. I was terrified. She... she even said I would never be able to find a job again, so... I kowtowed to her."
"Qin Xier, what right do you have to make people unable to find jobs? What gives you the right?" Li Weiwei said with a sneer.
Qin Xi'er shook her head, her face pale. "I didn't. I didn't say that."
Unfortunately, no one believed her.
Nanzhi continued with a smile, "Are you sure what you just said was the truth?"
The waiter was silent for a moment, then nodded, "Yes...it's true."
"You're lying, I didn't!" Qin Xi'er was terrified; those people's eyes were so frightening.
Lian Chuchu, who was standing nearby, quickly took her hand and comforted her:
"Miss Xi'er, don't worry. Even if everyone else doesn't believe in you, I still believe in you."
Qin Xi'er calmed down, and Nan Zhi, who was not far away, turned around and gradually walked towards Qin Xi'er.
The girl shrank back behind Lian Chuchu in fear.
It's understandable that a naive young girl like her would be frightened by such a scene.
Nanzhi did not continue to approach, but instead glanced around.
"You all say that Miss Qin Xi'er treated this waitress very badly. You stand on the moral high ground to condemn and attack her. Then let me ask you, who here saw what the waitress said about Miss Qin Xi'er cursing at her or hitting her?"
Nanzhi's words left everyone looking at each other in bewilderment. They hadn't seen anyone in the crowd speak:
"But we all saw the waiter kowtow just now."
"Yes, if she hadn't made things difficult for them, why didn't they help her up and let her kowtow? The ground is so hard, look at what happened to that person's forehead."
Nanzhi nodded. "So you only saw her kowtowing, right?"
Li Weiwei said angrily, "So what if it is? Isn't this abusing a waitress? She's clearly just trying to vent her anger. Such a vicious woman doesn't deserve to be a student at A University."
Nan Zhi glanced at Li Weiwei indifferently, then continued:
"The waitress might have wanted to kowtow herself. None of you saw Qin Xier hitting or scolding her, so why are you blaming her?"
