Chapter 281 I Don't Have Time to Play with You

Upon hearing that Li Jin was hospitalized, Gu Ying was immediately frightened. He was hospitalized because she had hit him. If it got too serious, would he have to ask the Mu family for the money?

Thinking of this, Gu Ying decided that she couldn't tell Nan Zhi.

When Nanzhi asked him about it when she got home in the afternoon, Gu Ying just shook his head and said, "He didn't cause me any trouble today."

Nan Zhi, however, was somewhat skeptical. She patted Gu Ying on the back of the head and said:

"Aying, I don't mind that you're bothering me. If he bothers you, just tell me and I'll help you resolve it."

Hearing this, Gu Ying was touched, but he couldn't tell the truth. He smiled and pretended to be relaxed, "I didn't expect him to not pick a fight with me today. Sister, don't think too much about it. Maybe he's scared of me and doesn't dare to cause trouble. If there's any problem, I'll tell you."

Seeing Gu Ying speak so confidently, Nan Zhi nodded on the surface, but in her heart she became more and more doubtful.

Given Li Jin's personality, he wouldn't pretend nothing happened after suffering a loss. Either he's hiding some big trick, or Gu Ying is deceiving her.

Nanzhi decided to wait and see how things went before taking appropriate measures.

The next day was Saturday, and Shen Xingmian was on the afternoon shift, so he spent the day in his bedroom, and Nan Zhi had no idea what he was doing.

Gu Ying went to Shen Xingmian's room, and when she came out, Nan Zhi stopped her, "Aying, what is your brother Xingmian doing?"

"Studying."

Nan Zhi: "......" No way, she really changed her personality?

"What was that bag you just brought in?"

Gu Ying didn't hide anything, "It's a junior high school textbook. I borrowed it from a classmate."

Nanzhi was puzzled. "Why would you need to borrow those junior high school textbooks?"

Gu Ying was also confused. He scratched his head and said, "I don't know either. Xingmian said he needed it, so I borrowed it from a classmate."

Nan Zhi stroked her chin, pondered for a moment, but still couldn't figure it out. Could it be that Shen Xingmian was learning junior high school knowledge?

She had only been attending school with Shen Xingmian for a short time, but judging from how he looked at the beginning of class, he was clearly going to sleep. Did he sleep like that throughout junior high school?

Thinking of this, Nanzhi felt she should go to Shen Xingmian's place later and mock him for not knowing anything about junior high school; he was too incompetent.

Lost in thought, Nan Zhi didn't notice the fleeting look of worry on Gu Ying's face.

"Sister Xixi, I'm going upstairs now."

These words woke Nanzhi up. She glanced at him and nodded, "Go, go."

After Gu Ying left, Nan Zhi pushed her wheelchair toward Shen Xingmian's bedroom. She waited at the bedroom door for a while, mainly to listen to what was going on inside. Of course, she couldn't hear anything. Shen Xingmian was indeed studying and trying to catch up on her junior high school knowledge.

He slept through junior high school, falling behind in many fundamentals. It was good that Gu Ying could borrow textbooks for him. As Shen Xingmian flipped through these junior high textbooks, he frowned. These were too simple.

He could do it almost in one take, without even pausing.

So engrossed in his work, he didn't even notice Nanzhi at the door.

Shen Xingmian never locked his bedroom door. Nan Zhi simply reached out and turned the doorknob, opening the door to find the boy sitting at the table, intently reading his textbook.

His face was flawless from every angle, and his profile was particularly striking, most resembling Shen Xingmian in the future. Nan Zhi was stunned for a moment, while Shen Xingmian turned to look at the doorway.

Upon seeing that it was Nanzhi, he instinctively closed his junior high school textbook and quietly placed it under his senior high school textbook. No one knows what he was thinking, but he acted very quickly.

Why didn't you knock?

Shen Xingmian's eyebrows were like arrows as he gazed at Nanzhi with an unyielding expression.

Nanzhi snapped out of her daze and shamelessly blurted out, "I forgot."

Shen Xingmian: "......."

Shen Xingmian should have been angry that his studies were interrupted, but looking at Nan Zhi's cheerful and smiling face, he just couldn't bring himself to be angry.

For the first time in sixteen years, he felt utterly helpless when facing a person.

"Please leave, you are disturbing my studies."

Shen Xingmian spoke with a stern face.

Nanzhi ignored her and moved her wheelchair over to the table. There was a math book on the table, a high school math book. But Nanzhi noticed that the book was quite thick, clearly indicating that there was another one hidden inside.

Nan Zhi subtly withdrew her gaze and looked up at Shen Xingmian, "Shen Xingmian, why have you suddenly become so fond of studying?"

Shen Xingmian felt very uncomfortable being stared at like that.

"What's it to you?"

She looked away, afraid that she would lose control of herself.

This gave Nan Zhi an opportunity. She curled the corners of her lips and said, "Of course it's my business, because I'm your creditor."

Shen Xingmian: "......."

In that moment of Shen Xingmian's carelessness, Nan Zhi reached out and took the high school math book, only to find a junior high math book hidden underneath.

"Shen Xingmian, you're actually looking at first-year junior high math? You can't even do such a simple problem?"

In Nan Zhi's eyes, Shen Xingmian was omnipotent. When they went to the amusement park together, she found that the boy was afraid of extreme sports, but now he was secretly reading junior high school textbooks in his bedroom. It was quite amusing to think about.

A hint of embarrassment flashed across Shen Xingmian's face as he retorted:

"Of course I can. I just wanted to help Aying with her studies, that's why I watched it."

Nanzhi squinted, smiling like a cat, "Really?"

Shen Xingmian awkwardly touched her nose and nodded.

Nan Zhi retorted, "I don't believe it. You must have been sleeping in middle school too, which is why you don't know anything now. Besides, why would you hide your middle school textbooks underneath? You must be afraid I'll laugh at you."

The girl's words, however, revealed the truth that Shen Xingmian was trying so hard to cover up.

Even so, Shen Xingmian coldly replied, "Believe it or not."

After saying that, he snatched the high school math book from Nanzhi's hand, glanced at her, and said, "I need to study. Please leave."

Nan Zhi shook her head. "Shen Xingmian, don't rush to send me away. If you really know all this junior high school math, I'll become your student."

Shen Xingmian's heart stirred slightly, but he didn't show it on his face. Instead, he didn't want to argue with Nan Zhi. "I don't have time to play with you."

Nanzhi: "......"

She reached out and patted Shen Xingmian's arm, speaking frankly and righteously:

"If you don't know, you don't know. Don't worry, Shen Xingmian. I won't laugh at you. If you don't know something, just ask me and I'll explain it to you. Even if I don't know, I can ask Wu Ke and Qin Yi. They are good at studying and they will definitely know."

Shen Xingmian's expression darkened slightly. All he knows is to ask others; he's utterly unrepentant.

Even the air around him seemed to cool down. Nan Zhi continued to talk, "If you don't understand something in the future, you can ask Qin Yi. I don't think even if you ask Wu Ke, she would dare not explain the problem to you. Only Qin Yi would dare to argue with you. To be honest, you should communicate more with your classmates."
