"Don't listen to Hu Lai's nonsense, I never said such a thing."
Nan Zhi's lips curled up, her gaze lingered on the desk for a moment, and then she said:
"Yeah?"
Shen Xingmian: "..." He put down his pen, stood up, and took a few steps toward Nanzhi.
"These are all documents that I've prepared so that Hu Lai can handle them for me. Trust me."
Nan Zhi understood that the company had many things to do and that he was indeed needed to take charge.
But the body cannot afford to be delayed even a little bit.
On matters of principle, we must adhere to them.
Nanzhi sighed.
"It's not that I don't want you to work. Since you're here at the company, you'll inevitably have to work. But you have to be moderate. You have to eat at mealtimes every day, rest during your break time, and when you're done, you're done. You absolutely cannot work overtime."
Hearing Nan Zhi's words, Shen Xingmian nodded and ruffled the girl's hair:
"Now that you're here, I won't overload myself any further."
Upon hearing this, Nan Zhi finally nodded in satisfaction.
Hu Lai, who had been away from the office for a while, was walking down the street when he suddenly realized that he seemed to have forgotten to ask Shen Xingmian.
So he turned around and went back to his office.
Seeing him come in, Nanzhi glanced at him in surprise, thinking, "Looks like you haven't forgotten."
So he stared at Hu with great interest.
Hu Lai walked directly toward Shen Xingmian.
When Shen Xingmian saw him, her expression turned slightly cold; he was more of a hindrance than a help.
Hu Lai was completely absorbed in the moment and didn't notice Shen Xingmian's expression at all.
"Old Shen, I have a question for you. If you answer it correctly, I'll take care of all the company's affairs for a year, and you can finally relax. If you answer it wrong, then you'll give me a year off. How about that?"
The thought of having a year-long vacation filled Hu Lai with joy.
Shen Xingmian looked at Hu Lai coldly and directly rejected him: "Not good."
Hu Lai: "...Such good conditions, Lao Shen, you must cherish them. It's a whole year."
Seeing this, Nanzhi tugged at Shen Xingmian's sleeve and winked at him playfully.
Shen Xingmian frowned, seeing how expectant the girl was, and after thinking for a moment, nodded:
Hu Lai's eyes lit up instantly. He cleared his throat and then spoke:
"Listen carefully, this is a very simple question."
Then he put on a profound expression.
"Do you know who this sheep and wolf are?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he felt the icy aura emanating from the other party.
Hu Lai not only didn't care, but became even more confident.
Shen Xingmian's expression was humble, and he remained silent for a long time.
Hu Lai continued to ask:
"Old Shen, do you know? If you do, just tell me."
He chuckled.
"If I didn't know, I wouldn't laugh at you."
If Shen Xingmian's gaze could kill, Hu Lai would probably have died more than once.
Nan Zhi looked at the two of them with bright eyes, and couldn't help but shed a tear of sympathy for Hu Lai.
"Miss, you're so mean."
MeowMeowMachine speaks out for Hu Lai, Hu Lai is so pitiful, how could anyone trust Nan Zhi?
Oh, poor child.
Nan Zhi silently rolled her eyes. Who told Hu Lai to be so stupid? If she didn't trick him, who would she trick?
Shen Xingmian remained silent for a long while before coldly saying a few words to Hu Lai:
"cartoon."
Upon hearing this, Hu Lai's face immediately lit up with a smile, and he burst into laughter:
"Old Shen, you're wrong. You're just giving me a year's vacation, haha. It's just a fable."
Seeing how happy Hu Lai was, Nan Zhi really couldn't bear to discourage him.
Shen Xingmian stared at Hu Lai's excited face, a mocking smile curving his lips.
He sneered, "You don't even know the correct answer, yet you dare to ask me."
Hu Lai was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at Nan Zhi.
The other person was looking at him with a smile.
Hu Lai's confidence returned. "You're wrong. What I said is the correct answer."
Shen Xingmian: "......" Who gave him this confidence?
Immediately afterwards, Shen Xingmian opened the search page on her phone and entered "a certain sheep" and "a certain wolf".
The introduction came out quickly.
He handed it to Hu Lai with a nonchalant expression:
"Take a look for yourself."
Hu Lai took it and glanced at it, and the smile on his face gradually froze.
Suddenly, he turned his gaze to Nanzhi.
Nanzhi, however, had already turned around and walked to the bookshelf to take a book, pretending not to have seen it.
Shen Xingmian smiled enigmatically: "Hu Lai, you'll have to work hard during this time, given the year's worth of affairs."
Hu Lai: "..." He really wanted to cry right now.
Why? Why are you all treating me so cruelly?
Seeing Hu Lai's pained expression, Shen Xingmian patted his shoulder and said:
"Don't worry, I come here almost every day."
Hu Lai immediately saw a glimmer of hope. "Brother, you're so good to me, I swear..."
Before he could finish speaking, Shen Xingmian continued:
"To keep an eye on you."
Hu Lai: "..."
Hu Lai's face turned red with anger, and he spoke indignantly:
"You did this on purpose. One of you was responsible for digging the hole, and the other was responsible for filling it in, and in the end you buried me in it."
Nanzhi sat on the sofa, her shoulders shaking, her face hidden behind a book.
"Miss, can't you be a decent person? [Smile]"
MeowMeowMachine once again felt that Nanzhi was not human; she was a young woman who had gone astray.
Nan Zhi: "..." The key is that she dug a pit, but Hu Lai insisted on jumping into it, and she was helpless.
