Chapter 136: Sickness

The Queen Mother sat quietly in the room, holding a teacup in her hand, savoring the tea carefully.

Standing behind him was the maid who served him, and sitting on his left was Murong Yue, who was called by the Queen Mother for questioning.

"I wonder, Your Highness, what do you think of this tea?"

It was obvious that the Queen Mother had no intention of doing this, but she insisted on playing Tai Chi with me.

Murong Yue chuckled secretly, stood up gracefully, and smiled gently.

"The tea here is naturally good. But, did the Queen Mother really invite me here just to taste tea?"

The Queen Mother smiled, and her eyes, which seemed careless at first glance, suddenly lit up with a gleam of light.

"I'm just curious why the princess suddenly changed her mind."

The smile on Murong Yue's face remained unchanged, but she suddenly spoke in a very sighing tone.

"A few days ago, Madam Zhenguo came to see me. She told me about me and Prince Xiang."

Things had just begun when Murong Yue maliciously stopped the topic.

She just took a sip of tea leisurely and changed the subject.

"Your Majesty, this tea is truly delicious. Could I ask you for some of it?"

The Queen Mother was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. She saw through Murong Yue's trick at a glance.

She was clearly seeking revenge for the day when he led her to King Xiang's side.

I deliberately brought up the topic but didn't continue, letting her feel the awkwardness.

But since I have already got the answer I wanted.

The Queen Mother waved her hand backwards, and the maid understood and brought a box of fine tea to Murong Yue.

Murong Yue took the tea and turned to leave. She had no intention of playing Tai Chi with the empress dowager anymore.

The Queen Mother stared at Murong Yue's departing back, half believing it, but half still doubting it.

A few days ago, she had heard that Lady Zhenguo had been talking to Murong Yue in her room for nearly two incense sticks before coming out.

In addition to what Murong Yue said today, the Queen Mother is already 50% convinced that Lady Zhenguo really persuaded Murong Yue to marry Prince Xiang.

But the remaining five points were her personal understanding of Gu Yanyue.

She thought that Gu Yanyue was not the kind of person who would be so kind to help her.

When the test results came out, the Queen Mother was pruning branches. A maid hurried in and said respectfully to the Queen Mother.

"Queen Dowager, the results of the divination are in. They are not in agreement with Your Majesty, but are in agreement with Prince Xiang. When the results came out, I heard that the envoys who had refuted the situation were speechless. This matter has been decided."

The Queen Mother just responded softly. It seemed that Murong Yue really did not lie to her. It was really the Lady Zhenguo who helped her.

Gu Yanyue, who was still kept in the dark, learned about the horoscope matching as soon as she heard that a fortune teller had entered the palace.

When the results came out, Murong Yue and King Xiang's horoscopes matched. Gu Yanyue knew the situation was set and there was no way to change it.

Yu Wenran sat upright behind the desk, and Gu Yanyue got angry just looking at him.

"Why did you hide it from me? Why did you agree to Murong Yue? Didn't we agree on this? Why did you go back on your word?"

I warned her repeatedly not to agree to Murong Yue's request.

This guy was good. As soon as Murong Yue opened her mouth, he agreed and threw his own words behind his head.

Now, even if I regret it, I can't do it because he has given me the marriage.

Gu Yanyue was furious, and now she couldn't stand Yu Wenran anymore.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Suddenly, a fishy smell rushed to his head. Gu Yanyue lowered his head and coughed, and actually coughed up blood.

“Cough cough cough…”

Yu Wenran had been keeping his head down, trying not to care about what Gu Yanyue said.

He forced himself not to answer. It was true that he had not kept his promise, and he had nothing to refute.

Moreover, he had not yet figured out how to explain Murong Yue's matter to Gu Yanyue, so Murong Yue had left him with a difficult problem.

As a result, as soon as he looked up, he saw Gu Yanyue covering her mouth and bending over, coughing non-stop, with blood visible between her fingers.

Yu Wenran's eyebrows jumped suddenly, and he rushed forward and supported Gu Yanyue.

"What's wrong?"

Gu Yanyue glared at him fiercely. How dare you ask what's wrong? It's all because of you that I'm angry.

We had agreed not to agree before, but he agreed when I was not watching him.

Just as she was about to speak, another fishy smell rushed up.

Seeing that Gu Yanyue was coughing up blood more and more, Yu Wenran picked her up, strode towards the bed, and gently placed her on the bed.

He looked up and said loudly.

"Call the imperial physician!"

After the imperial physician carefully took the pulse, he bent down respectfully and knelt in front of Yu Wenran, whispering.

"Your Majesty, Madam Zhenguo is so angry that she is coughing up blood."

"As long as you rest for a while, you will be fine. But remember, don't make my wife angry again."

Yu Wenran stared at Gu Yan's sleeping face and pondered for a moment.

"I understand, everyone please leave."

"yes."

Before falling into a coma, Gu Yanyue only felt an uncomfortable itchy throat and the fishy taste in her mouth could not be removed.

When she opened her eyes again, Yu Wenran, who was originally sitting behind the desk, had disappeared.

Sitting beside the bed were his good friend Qin Ruoruo and Murong Yue, the other mastermind who had angered him.

When Gu Yanyue and others saw Murong Yue again, they didn't know what to say.

Of course, she knew who Murong Yue was doing this for. But, now that things had come to this, there was no point in dwelling on who was right or wrong.

"Sister Gu, the imperial physician said that you will recover after a few days of rest. Leave everything to me for the next few days. You should rest well!"
