Chapter 6 Ragdoll Snake

Zhang Hulan turned and left.

The shopkeeper quickly grabbed Zhang Hulan and said, "Sister-in-law, don't leave! If you think it's too low, then name a price."

Zhang Hulan said, "Five taels of silver."

"Why don't you go and rob?"

Zhang Hulan lifted the snake high and brought it in front of the shopkeeper. "Shopkeeper, look carefully. How big is this snake? How many years did it take for it to grow this big?"

"That's not worth five taels of silver, right?"

Zhang Hulan asked, "You're buying it to make medicinal wine and sell it, right?"

The shopkeeper took another look at Zhang Hulan and said, "It's medicinal wine. Does sister-in-law know about it?"

Zhang Hulan snorted, "Humph, snake wine can dispel wind and dredge meridians, nourish the kidneys and strengthen yang, and replenish blood. It's a good thing. I'm such a big snake, and you gave me a hundred coins. Do you think I'm stupid?"

"Other people use a jar of medicinal wine for each snake, so this snake should be soaked in a vat of medicinal wine. How much silver do you want for a vat of medicinal wine?"

The shopkeeper didn't expect that this woman was not easy to fool, so he had to raise the price, "I'll give you two taels at most."

Zhang Hulan bargained, "Four taels, no less."

The shopkeeper gritted his teeth and said, "Three taels, no more."

"Deal." Zhang Hulan stretched out his hand for the money.

Zhang Hulan was so straightforward all of a sudden that the shopkeeper began to wonder if the price was too high.

But doing business still requires integrity. Being able to fool people is a skill, and the price agreed upon is what it is.

The shopkeeper went into the inn and took out three taels of silver for Zhang Hulan, who handed the snake to the shopkeeper, who immediately stepped back and let a waiter take it.

Zhang Hulan took the silver and didn't think about what to buy for food. She went into a clinic.

"Sister-in-law, are you looking for a doctor or medicine?" asked the owner of the clinic.

"Shopkeeper, I want to ask, how much silver does it cost to heal a broken leg?"

"Broken leg? Did you bring the person with you?"

"Not yet. I'm at home. I came to ask how much silver is needed. If the money is not enough, it will be useless even if I bring people here."

"Then come with me and tell the doctor about the situation." The shopkeeper came out from the counter and took Zhang Hulan into a compartment.
