Bonus Chapter: Meeting the Parents, Obtaining a Signature

Cousin Bai Nannan stared wide-eyed at Shu Lan with disbelief.

She gently covered her gaping mouth with her small hand, and heard her own excited yet apprehensive voice in her ear: "Cousin, cousin, is it really you?!"

Shu Lan saw his cousin Bai Nannan, whom he hadn't seen for a long time, and felt quite emotional. He sensed the disbelief and lingering fear in Bai Nannan's eyes, as if she was afraid that he would suddenly disappear again, so he nodded gently.

"That's right, Nan Nan, it's me."

"That's great! That's really great!" Bai Nannan's eyes instantly reddened, and she couldn't help but throw herself into Shu Lan's arms. "Cousin, it's so good that you're alright!" Bai Nannan sobbed, her emotions still overwhelming.

When Qin An saw a woman rush into his master's arms, he was furious! He couldn't stand still and tried to pull the woman away. But a look from his master made him stop in his tracks.

Qin An felt extremely wronged and looked at his master brother with resentful eyes.

"Nannan, what happened?" Just as her cousin Bai Nannan screamed, a man's and a woman's voices came from not far away, followed by hurried footsteps.

Just as the two approached, Shu Lan recognized their faces and burst into tears, calling out affectionately, "Dad! Mom!"

Shulan's parents also saw Shulan at that moment. They were stunned by how much this person resembled their son. Upon hearing how this person addressed them, Shulan's mother couldn't hold back any longer. Her voice trembled as she asked, "Son, is that you? You're back, aren't you?!"

"Mom, it's me! Your son is back!" Shu Lan was also very excited, and her body trembled slightly.

Upon hearing Shulan's affirmative answer, Shulan's mother burst into tears, and even Shulan's father secretly wiped away his tears.

Bai Nannan had recovered by this time. She stepped out of Shu Lan's arms and let Shu Lan's mother hug Shu Lan instead.

The mother and son embraced tightly, both weeping uncontrollably. Shulan's mother held her son tightly in her arms, her heart filled with the joy of having him back, afraid that he would disappear from her sight again.

After everyone calmed down, Shulan's parents asked him, "Son, where have you been for the past month?! We haven't heard from you at all, and it scared us to death!"

"A month?!" Shu Lan noticed this at this moment. "Dad, Mom, are you saying that only a month has passed since I disappeared?"

Seeing her parents nod, Shu Lan finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness, it's only been a month." The Book God did a good job with this; I thought many years had passed. It seems the Book God adjusted the time difference for me. I'll have to thank the Book God properly next time.

"Son! You think a month isn't enough?! Do you want to disappear for a while longer?! You're going to scare your parents to death!" Shu Lan's mother angrily punched Shu Lan lightly in the chest.

Shu Lan sensed her mother's unease and anger, and quickly waved her hand, "No, Mom, that's not what I meant! Whether you believe it or not, I've actually been gone from this world for twenty-four years."

"Huh?" Bai Nannan and Shu Lan's parents looked at each other, completely confused by Shu Lan's words.

Then, Shu Lan told his parents everything in detail about how he traveled to the world in the book and how he spent twenty-four years there. This included his adoption of Qin An, taking Qin An as his apprentice, and marrying Qin An.

After Shu Lan finished speaking, the entire living room fell silent as everyone digested what she had said, their worldviews shattered.

"Ah! So, you're the Demon Lord Qin An?!" Just as everyone was silently processing what Shu Lan had said, Bai Nannan suddenly exclaimed. She looked at Qin An in disbelief, her face full of excitement.

Qin An had always been quietly playing the background role behind his master, but now that Bai Nannan had pointed it out, everyone turned their attention to him.

Qin An was momentarily at a loss, so Shu Lan gestured to him with her eyes and secretly used her divine sense to transmit her voice: "Xiao An, why don't you say hello to my parents?"

So, facing his master's parents, Qin An called out in a clear voice, "Dad, Mom. My name is Qin An. I am your disciple and your Daoist partner."

Shu Lan's parents were initially shocked by Qin An's address, and then they didn't quite understand the term "Daoist couple".

Shu Lan said from the side, "Dad, Mom, actually, we are already married, which means that Xiao An is your son-in-law."

"Daughter, son-in-law!" Shu Lan's parents were quite shocked and it took them a long time to process the fact that their son had brought them a son-in-law.

Bai Nannan was stomping her feet excitedly. She rushed to Qin An and exclaimed, "Great! It's the living Demon Lord! I've finally met the Demon Lord! Ahhh! I'm so happy!" After saying that, Bai Nannan tried to pounce on Qin An.

Qin An quickly took a step back, dodging Bai Nannan's "attack".

Bai Nannan, however, remained unfazed and still very excited. "Demon Lord! Can you give me an autograph?" She then quickly took out her notebook and pen.

Qin An looked helplessly at Shu Lan, who smiled and said, "Xiao An, this is my cousin Bai Nannan. She liked you a lot when she was in school. Just do her a favor and write her a name!"

"But, Master, I don't know how to use this pen!" Qin An held the pen, somewhat at a loss for words.

"Oh! How could I forget!" Bai Nannan suddenly slapped her forehead. "You're from ancient times! Ancient people should write with a brush!" So, Bai Nannan ran to a room and then quickly ran back.

Now, Bai Nannan held Xuan paper and a calligraphy brush in her hands, and even brought ink and an inkstone. "Hehe! Now I can sign autographs, right?!"

Qin An took the brush and Xuan paper. Shu Lan poured the ink into the inkstone. Qin An picked up the brush and wrote the two characters "Qin An" in a graceful and elegant style.

Bai Nannan was satisfied. She folded the paper as if it were a precious treasure, then carefully put it into her bag, intending to frame it properly when she got back.

Shu Lan's parents watched Bai Nannan's series of actions with wide eyes. Only after Bai Nannan had finished did Shu Lan's father cough once, "Ahem!"

Immediately, everyone turned their attention to Shulan's father.
