When Shu Lan saw the Blood Demon slashing towards Qin An, her mind went blank.
Shu Lan herself didn't know how she caught up with Qin An, but to others, Shu Lan's speed was so fast that it left a blur.
Shu Lan only had time to stand behind Qin An, and didn't even have time to raise her protective aura.
The Blood Demon plunged his blade into Shu Lan's right chest. Shu Lan let out a muffled groan and spat out a mouthful of blood. A few drops of blood fell onto her pristine white clothes, like red plum blossoms blooming in the snow.
Qin An had just turned around when his pupils suddenly contracted. "Master!" He watched helplessly as the Blood Demon's blade pierced his master's brother's chest, unable to do anything about it.
The blood that his master brother spat out stained Qin An's entire field of vision.
Shu Lan seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and before the Blood Demon could retract his blade, she pierced the Blood Demon's left chest with her sword, piercing his heart.
The Blood Demon's smug expression didn't last long before it suddenly turned into one of terror. He watched helplessly as Shu Lan pierced his heart, his eyes gradually losing their light.
Shu Lan pulled the Yun Yao Sword out of the Blood Demon's body, and the Blood Demon collapsed to the ground.
Immediately afterwards, Shu Lan pulled the knife that the Blood Demon had thrust into her right chest out, and blood gushed out.
"Master, Master, how are you?!" Qin An finally snapped out of his daze and rushed forward to check on Shu Lan's injuries.
"It's alright, Xiao An, don't worry." Shu Lan forced a smile from her pale face as she comforted Qin An.
"Waaaaah, it's all my fault! If it weren't for me, Master wouldn't have been injured!" Qin An said, tears streaming down his face.
"Why are you crying? Don't cry, Xiao An. It's not your fault, it's my oversight." Shu Lan wiped away Qin An's tears with her hand, comforting him.
"No, if I hadn't overestimated myself and come to help, the Blood Demon wouldn't have had the chance." Qin An's eyes were red. "So, it was I who implicated my master."
"Don't cry, don't cry. Xiao An is a little man, don't shed tears so easily." Shu Lan had no choice but to tell Qin An to stop crying.
Qin An gave a muffled "hmm" and finally stopped crying.
"Uncle-Master, please take this healing pill." At this moment, the Fifth Elder came over and handed Shu Lan a healing pill.
Shu Lan swallowed the pill, and her injuries healed somewhat, her complexion becoming slightly rosy.
Qin An gently helped Shu Lan stand up. Looking at the wound on Shu Lan's right chest, Qin An was in a state of turmoil.
He felt heartbroken that his master was so badly injured yet still had to comfort him, and he despised himself for being so weak and dependent on his master's protection. He was also anxious about his own strength; if his cultivation were higher, if his power stronger, could he help his master? Would his master not have gotten hurt?
Qin An was moved by his master's actions in protecting him, and he resolved to cultivate diligently. He wanted to protect his master so that no one could harm him.
Qin An's thoughts were racing, but in Shu Lan's eyes, he was staring intently at the wound on his right chest.
Shu Lan shook his head helplessly and gently stroked Qin An's hair: "Xiao An, this injury is nothing, it will heal quickly."
Qin An came to his senses and listened to his master's words without saying a word. He simply looked at his master with his bright black eyes and remained silent.
"Xiao An, do you know which part of a demon you need to attack to kill it?" Shu Lan knew that if they continued, he might not be able to hold on any longer. So he quickly changed the subject and asked Qin An.
Although Qin An knew that his master was changing the subject, he still thought about it seriously as instructed.
"I saw that Master pierced the Blood Demon's left chest before the Blood Demon was completely killed. So, the key point must be the heart."
“That’s right! To kill a demon, you must destroy its heart!” Shu Lan nodded affirmatively. “We cultivators only truly disappear after our souls and spirits are destroyed, but if you want a demon to disappear, you must destroy its heart.”
Qin An nodded thoughtfully, and the other disciples also seemed to understand after hearing Shu Lan's words.
"Grandmaster Uncle, Fifth Elder, what should we do with this village chief?" Two disciples escorted the village chief toward Shu Lan and the others.
The village chief was hanging his head dejectedly, his face devoid of its usual radiance.
"Fellow immortals, why have you arrested the village chief?" At this moment, a voice suddenly came over.
Shu Lan and the others looked back and saw that some villagers had come to the back mountain.
"Why did you all come here? Don't you know the back mountain is dangerous?"
“We saw the immortals coming, and we thought that even if there was any danger in the back mountain, the immortals would help us escape danger.” A villager mustered up his courage and stepped forward. “So, we boldly and secretly followed them to the back mountain.”
"So, why did you arrest the village chief?" another villager asked at this point.
"That's a question for your 'good' village chief," the Fifth Elder said, walking up to the village chief. "Tell me, what exactly did you do in collusion with the demons?"
The village chief remained silent, only bowing his head in quiet contemplation.
“The Blood Demon has already been killed by our Grandmaster Uncle, what are you still doing here without saying a word?” a disciple said quickly.
But the village chief remained silent.
"Grandpa, what are you doing here?" A little girl's voice came from the other end.
