As soon as the examiner finished speaking, the disciples from the red and blue teams began their duel.
Since neither disciple was particularly skilled, the battle was quickly decided. The red disciple was knocked to the ground by the blue disciple's sword.
"Blue Card Number One, Wang Jisheng!"
The disciples from both sides quickly stepped off the stage, and then Red Card No. 2 and Blue Card No. 2 stepped onto the fighting stage.
The two sides then engaged in another round of competition...
And so, group after group of disciples went up on stage to compete, and soon it was Qin An's turn.
"Red Card No. 12 and Blue Card No. 12, come up on stage for the competition."
Qin An took a deep breath to calm himself down, and then walked steadily towards the stage.
Qin An stepped onto the dueling platform and bowed to his opponent: "Qin An, Qi Refining Level 7."
The other party also clasped his hands in a salute: "Ji Xiu, Qi Refining Level 7."
"The match begins."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Ji Xiu rushed over like a gust of wind.
Qin An quickly dodged to the side, avoiding the swift sword strike. He turned and thrust his sword forward, but Ji Xiuge blocked it.
Ji Xiu attacked Qin An's vulnerable spot with his sword, but Qin An blocked it with his own.
And so, Qin An and Ji Xiu went back and forth, fighting fiercely.
Qin An intentionally wanted to refine his sword techniques, so he kept using his opponent as a practice subject.
When Qin An felt it was about time, he knocked Ji Xiu's sword away with a single stroke.
"I lost." Ji Xiu chose to admit defeat.
"Red Card Number Twelve, Qin Ansheng!"
After stepping off the stage, Qin An immediately looked up at the high platform. He saw Shu Lan smiling and nodding at him. Qin An's mood brightened even more.
As the competition progressed rapidly, the first round of matches quickly came to an end. A new round of drawing lots immediately followed. This time, Qin An drew a disciple at the eighth level of Qi Refining.
Qin An defeated him in just a few moves, easily achieving victory.
Meanwhile, Ye Feiyu was also very relaxed. As a cultivator at the ninth level of Qi Refining, Ye Feiyu easily defeated those who were below the ninth level of Qi Refining.
After round after round of competition, the top fifty were finally determined as the sun set.
Qin An and Ye Feiyu both made it into the top 50.
In the evening, when Qin An returned to Tinglan Peak with Shu Lan, Shu Lan affirmed Qin An's efforts, and Qin An confidently said that he would continue to work hard.
The competition for the top fifty continued on the second day.
This time, Qin An drew blue card number ten.
The person who competed against Qin An was a female disciple who used a long whip.
Once both sides were ready, the female disciple took the lead and swung her long whip, striking Qin An on the head.
Qin An dodged and avoided the fierce whip.
Seeing that her first lash missed, the female disciple immediately struck again.
Qin An dodged her attack with a quick movement.
And so, one attacked, the other dodged. Neither could gain the upper hand, and they were locked in a stalemate.
Qin An felt that things couldn't continue like this. After thinking it over and over, a sudden inspiration struck him.
While dodging the whip, Qin An quickly moved closer to the female disciple.
After the female disciple lashed out with her whip, her old strength was exhausted and her new strength had not yet been generated. She had no time to swing the whip back and forth to protect herself, and Qin An quickly closed in on her.
Once Qin An got close, the female disciple's whip was no longer an advantage. She could only watch helplessly as Qin An deflected her whip with a single sword strike.
"Blue Card Number Ten, Qin An wins!"
With the examiner's final command, the competition came to a close.
Next was Ye Feiyu's match. Ye Feiyu's opponent was a disciple with a similar cultivation level. Ye Feiyu took it a little more seriously, used some techniques, and won the match.
Today's competition was more difficult than yesterday's because the disciples were more skilled and their techniques were more refined.
The top ten were not determined until evening.
Qin An and Ye Feiyu were listed together.
"You did a great job today. You've made it into the top ten and can now enter the Sword Tomb," Shu Lan said on the way back to Tinglan Peak.
"Thank you for the praise, Master Brother." Qin An was full of energy. "I want to see how far I can go. I will continue to work hard in tomorrow's competition!" Qin An's tone was firm and full of anticipation.
"Take good care of yourself, just do your best," Shu Lan said, stroking Qin An's head.
"Okay, I know!" Qin An stuck out his little tongue, making Shu Lan laugh. He then laughed foolishly along with her, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The competition quickly reached its third day. Today, the top three and the first place winner would be determined, and all the disciples were eagerly anticipating it.
Qin An was as energetic as ever today. After drawing his lots, he discovered that his opponent was a sword cultivator at the ninth level of Qi Refining. This sword cultivator was renowned for his swordsmanship, with few rivals at the same level.
Qin An began to take this match seriously.
Soon it was Qin An's turn to fight. After exchanging greetings, the two began fighting without further ado.
The opponent's swordsmanship was extremely unrestrained, with his long sword whistling through the air.
Qin An, on the other hand, wielded his sword with impenetrable skill, parrying and countering each of his opponent's attacks.
Both sides wielded their swords and sabers with incredible speed, almost becoming afterimages. The disciples watching from below the stage cheered with great excitement.
After exchanging hundreds of blows, Qin An found an opening in his opponent's defenses and struck his wrist with the back of his sword, causing the opponent's knife to fall to the ground.
"Red Card Number Five, Qin Ansheng!"
And so, Qin An advanced to the top five.
