Chapter 101: Daily Chaos (Fat Chapter)

"I'm not hungry. I had dinner on the plane." Jing Chu was still well-behaved.

"Okay, I'll go get something to eat. You can have fun." Li Xi patted her butt and left without even considering that no children had ever been to this villa, and there were no toys for them to play with. The TV was also off, and she had tucked the remote control away in a drawer; a child visiting for the first time would probably not be able to find it.

This cannot be blamed on Li Xi, as she really has no experience in taking care of children. In addition, she believes that Jing Chu is a "genius" and that playing such "little things" by herself should not be difficult for him.

So when Li Xi went to the kitchen to make some egg tarts in the air fryer, she saw Jing Chu sitting obediently on the sofa, just like when they first met, staring at the pattern on the coffee table in a daze.

Li Xi's heart skipped a beat. This child acted too much like a little adult, not even knowing how to play. Is this the norm for "left-behind children"? How pitiful.

But soon, her idea was broken. Jing Chu, who was sitting on the sofa, heard Li Xi's movement, turned her head and stretched her neck to look at Li Xi, "Sister, do you know where the remote control is? I want to watch TV, it's a bit boring."

Li Xi was happily munching on a plate of egg tarts in her left hand and one in her right. Hearing Jing Chu's words, she finished the egg tart in a few bites, tossed the tinfoil into the trash, and wiped her mouth with a nearby tissue. Then, she quickly walked over to the coffee table, pulled out the remote control from the drawer, and considerately helped Jing Chu switch to the "children" mode.

"Look at me, I was only thinking about eating and forgot about it. Haha, don't mind me. I'll turn it on for you." After turning on the TV, Li Xi sat back next to Jing Chu and handed the egg tart in her hand to him, "Do you want to eat?"

Remembering what Jingchu had said before, Li Xi thought Jingchu would be polite and then quickly refuse. Unexpectedly, as soon as Li Xi held out the plate, Jingchu reached out his hand and carefully took the tin foil outside the egg tart. He slowly put it into his mouth and replied to Li Xi before eating, "Eat."

Li Xi just watched Jing Chu eat the egg tart bite by bite, his eyes almost falling on the egg tart.

No, didn’t you say you weren’t hungry?

As if he could see what Li Xi was thinking, Jing Chu swallowed a mouthful of egg tart and glanced at Li Xi sideways, "Just because you're not hungry doesn't mean you don't want to eat."

"Haha, eat, eat more. It's just egg tarts, all you can eat. Hahaha..." Li Xi didn't want to admit that she didn't want to share, as it would make her look like she was very protective of her food. But she did feel sorry for the egg tarts that were taken away, so she could only smile awkwardly and pretend not to care.

However, Li Xi's generosity was not rewarded by Jing Chu's willingness to stop while she was ahead, but rather her desire to keep going. After Jing Chu finished the egg tart in her hand, she turned slightly to the side, opened her big innocent eyes, and looked at Li Xi obediently, "Sister, I want more."

Being stared at by the child's innocent eyes, Li·Adult·Xi felt guilty for a moment. As an adult, she actually competed with a child for snacks. Although these snacks were originally made for her, but since the child had asked, her first thought was that this poor kid was trying to steal her food.

She has no sense of adulthood! She has no sisterly love. Ugh! Luo Jingxuan is such a big fool! Why did she even suggest bringing the child here? This isn't a family reunion; it's clearly a debt-collection.

Thinking this in her heart, Li Xi still had a smile on her face. After Jing Chu spoke, she pushed the plate of egg tarts in front of him without hesitation and said, "Eat, just help yourself. The frying pan is not big, there are only a few in a pot, which is a bit too little. I'll make some more."

After saying that, Li Xi finished the remaining egg tart crust in her hand in a few bites, wiped her mouth and hands with a tissue, and stood up to go to the kitchen. As soon as she stood up, Jing Chu also stood up with an egg tart in her hand, "Sister, why don't we go together? Actually, you don't have to make egg tarts."

"Hmm?" Li Xi looked down at the little kid who was only as tall as her waist, sighed that he was so short, and then asked her question, "Don't you like egg tarts?"

“I don’t dislike it, but it would be better if there were others.”

"Okay, let's go take a look together." Li Xi led Jing Chu to the kitchen and asked Jing Chu what he liked to eat while walking. She also asked him if there were any ingredients in the kitchen later.

At this point, Li Xi didn't realize that compromise, like domestic violence, is a matter of zero times and countless times. If she gave in to Jing Chu's demands this time, there would be a second, third, fourth, and nth compromise in the future. Compromising for food was just a trivial matter; there would be many more compromises waiting for her in the future!

Of course, Li Xi hadn't realized this yet. Instead, she happily led Jing Chu to make dessert. The reason for her happiness wasn't because Jing Chu was being so sweet and coquettish, asking for dessert, but because Li Xi wanted to eat it herself. If she was eating alone, she would be too lazy to do it, but with two people eating, she was motivated to work.

Because of Jing Chu's request, she was able to eat dessert, so she was naturally in a good mood.

Overall, Li Xi had a pretty good afternoon. She ate egg tarts and dessert, watched some cartoons with Jing Chu, and then waited for Luo Jingxuan and Jing Limo to come back for dinner.

Today was Jingchu's first day at the Imperial Garden, and also his first day back home. Jing Limo was worried that he wouldn't be able to adapt to life back home, and that he wouldn't be able to get along well with Li Xi. He had already arranged his work schedule, specifically leaving time in the evening to come back and spend time with his son.

As for Luo Jingxuan, it was purely out of courtesy. Needless to say, Jing Limo. Although Jing Chu was just a child, he was also a serious guest here at Luo Jingxuan's place. It was not possible for him to put down his work like he did to Jing Limo, but it was still acceptable for him to take time out to have dinner together.
