Time always flies when you study hard. When Li Xi came to her senses, it was already time for dinner.
These past few days, perhaps because he felt the child had adapted to life at Li Xi's place, or perhaps because the project was really busy, Jing Limo came here to eat much less frequently than when the child first arrived. If nothing unexpected happened today, Li Xi and Jing Chu would still be the only ones eating at the table.
Although Li Xi wanted Aunt Lin to bring the food upstairs so that she could continue studying while eating (the tragedy of cramming at the last minute, not wasting a single minute of time to study, good children should not learn this), but when she thought of little Jingchu eating alone, Li Xi suddenly felt extremely guilty, so she packed up her books and notes and prepared to go downstairs to eat.
When she went downstairs, Jingchu was still watching TV, while Aunt Lin was setting the table.
Hearing the sound of Li Xi coming downstairs, Jing Chu immediately threw away the remote control, ran towards Li Xi with open arms, and gave Li Xi a bear hug.
"Sister, are you good at studying?"
People say that women who act coquettishly have the best life. But Li Xi says that people who act coquettishly are lovable. No matter whether they are men or women, old or young, people who "know" how to act coquettishly will not have a bad life.
Looking at the little kid who only reached her waist, Li Xi didn't know whether it was her maternal brilliance or her "male chauvinism" that was aroused. Her heart softened. She lovingly stroked Jingchu's furry little head and smiled. "Learning never ends. There's no such thing as learning well. Isn't it time for dinner? I'm hungry, so I came down to eat with little Jingchu."
Jing Chu hugged Li Xi's waist and rubbed his cheek against her clothes. "Sis, now that you mention that, I'm hungry too. What are we going to eat tonight? Will Dad and brother-in-law come home to eat too?"
Hearing Jingchu's "brother-in-law," Li Xi was stunned. She really wasn't used to that title. "Let's go see what delicious food Auntie Lin has made." As she said that, she pulled Jingchu towards the kitchen and kept talking to him. "Your father and your brother-in-law are busy making money for us. They don't even have time to eat. Besides, they are strong men who want to cultivate immortality, so they don't need to eat."
Little Jingchu was very confused, "What does a strong man mean, and what is cultivation?"
"A strong man is someone who works hard to earn money and support his family, and has a strong sense of responsibility." Li Xi stroked Jing Chu's head and spoke nonsense seriously. "Cultivating immortality is like being a workaholic who is obsessed with work. They only need to work all the time to fill their stomachs, and they don't need to eat."
Jing Chu, a little brat who has lived abroad for many years and rarely watched domestic movies and TV dramas, didn't understand what Li Xi said, but he didn't think she was talking nonsense at all. He listened carefully and nodded after listening, as if he understood, "I see."
Li Xi patted Jingchu's head to acknowledge his knowledge and understanding, then smiled slyly where Jingchu didn't notice, hiding his achievements and fame. The future flowers of the motherland are being led astray by these unruly people!
After dinner, Li Xi watched some TV with Jing Chu before returning to her room to study. While university classes weren't as demanding as high school, Li Xi still had a lot to catch up on after missing a month. Needless to say, the pace of her studies was quite tight; many courses had assignments.
When she was "skipping classes," Li Xi was oblivious to everything else. Course progress, assignments, nothing mattered to her. No one knew what Assistant Jiang said when she requested and resigned from her leave, but when Li Xi was free, the school hadn't even thought of asking her to hand in her homework. When she had to return to school for final exams, the teachers suddenly remembered that this student still owed her homework, and they all demanded she catch up before the holiday!
Assignments at university, whether they were essays or PowerPoint presentations, were incredibly demanding. And the challenge was that they were more than just one assignment for each class. Li Xi felt like she was going to go bald just catching up on the homework. Furthermore, the extracurricular activities she participated in when she was kidnapped had her slapping her down and requiring her to write a summary report. If the teacher who made these demands were standing right in front of Li Xi, she would have absolutely scoffed.
It just so happened that the teacher conveyed the requirements through Assistant Jiang, and Assistant Jiang made it clear that everything the teacher asked for must be completed, otherwise he would tell the teacher that the previous leave request would not count, and asked the teacher to treat it as an absence and give her a demerit directly.
Li Xi: "..." Who is more cruel, Assistant Jiang?
Li Xi didn't want to be penalized or fail the course, so she could only study hard. However, it had been so long since she last studied that Li Xi's efficiency was extremely poor at first. She couldn't even grasp the content of the textbook, let alone grasp it thoroughly.
After studying hard for a whole night, Li Xi finally regained the feeling of being a top student.
The next day, Li Xi went to school with two big panda eyes. In the car, besides herself and Yu Sui, there was still a bodyguard following them. But it was unknown whether the bodyguard in the dark had withdrawn.
Li Xi felt that she should be safe, but Luo Jingxuan and Jing Limo were worried and insisted on having bodyguards follow her. Li Xi didn't want to go against their wishes, so she just left it at that.
After arriving at school, Yu Sui stayed outside as usual, while the bodyguard followed Li Xi into the school. Although he didn't follow closely, Li Xi knew that her figure was always within the bodyguard's field of vision.
Li Xi thought that after she entered the classroom, the bodyguard would find a secluded place nearby to hide. However, when she found a seat, she saw the bodyguard enter the classroom through the front door and then find a seat in the last row.
Li Xi: "..." If I remember correctly, the teaching model of their finance department is very similar to that of high school. One class occupies one classroom, and most courses change teachers but not the location or "desks". Is it okay for a stranger like bodyguard to come in like this?
As it turned out, there really wasn't a problem. The students in this class, or rather the finance department, were generally from wealthy families, so the presence of bodyguards was commonplace. Li Xi wasn't the first person to bring one to class. More precisely, everyone in the last row was a bodyguard. Students who wanted to avoid the most opted for the second-to-last row.
