"Brother Xuan, what brings you to disturb my peaceful sleep so early in the morning?" Ding Xiaoran asked in a sweet voice, still grumpy from being woken up.
"Xiao Ran, change your clothes first!" Qi Chenxuan said, looking Ding Xiao Ran up and down.
"No, Brother Xuan, what do you want to do? Why did you wake me up so early and make me change clothes?" Ding Xiaoran looked at Qi Chenxuan with a puzzled expression. If they hadn't grown up together, she would definitely think that the person in front of her was a big pervert.
Qi Chenxuan looked at Ding Xiaoran's suspicious gaze with a helpless expression and could only explain, "Didn't we agree to continue recording the song today?"
"We agreed on that, but what does it have to do with changing clothes!"
"I was chatting with my classmates yesterday, and they came up with an idea that I think I could give it a try!"
"What?" Ding Xiaoran still couldn't understand.
"Singing outdoors!" Qi Chenxuan didn't keep them in suspense any longer and directly revealed his idea.
"Huh? Is that okay? I'm so embarrassed!" The girl's reserve made Ding Xiaoran subconsciously want to back down.
"Calm down, it doesn't matter where you sing. If you want more people to hear you, let's go to a crowded place! I'm sure many people will like it!" Qi Chenxuan, who knew Ding Xiaoran well, advised her from the side.
"But……"
"No buts! Xiao Ran. Are you scared? Singing is for others to hear, what's the point of singing if you're scared?" To dispel Ding Xiao Ran's concerns, Qi Chenxuan resorted to provocation.
"Okay! I'll go!" Ding Xiaoran hesitated for only a moment before agreeing.
Ding Xiaoran easily saw through this simple provocation, but Xuan Ge's second half of the sentence struck her. Yes, she wasn't singing; she was racing against death, and there was no time to hesitate.
"Great! Now hurry up and change your clothes!"
"Um!"
Ding Xiaoran agreed and returned to her room, feeling quite uneasy. In both her lives combined, the most she had ever sung was at a karaoke bar with friends; she had never done it outdoors before, and a sudden, inexplicable tension welled up inside her.
Looking at the clothes in her closet, after much deliberation, Ding Xiaoran finally chose a beige t-shirt, paired with a yellow and gray striped skirt and white shell-toe sneakers. She looked youthful, radiant, and effortlessly stylish. She quickly drew her eyebrows and applied lipstick before leaving the room.
