The crimson aura trembled violently in Ning Yu's hand, as if it possessed a life of its own, emitting a nauseating stench. It desperately tried to escape Ning Yu's control, but like a trapped beast stuck in mud, its struggles were futile.
"What do you want to know?" A chilling voice suddenly echoed in Ning Yu's mind, filled with undisguised malice. "Haven't you heard the saying, 'Curiosity killed the cat'?"
Ning Yu remained unmoved, his eyes blazing with fury instead. He coldly snorted, the golden light on his hand intensifying. "Since I dared to come, I didn't intend to leave empty-handed. Answer my question, and I can give you a quick death!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the crimson aura surged violently, and blurry images appeared in Ning Yu's mind. These images were chaotic and disorganized, as if haphazardly pieced together, filled with an aura of chaos and madness. In the hazy distance, Ning Yu saw a familiar scene—the former secret base of the old forces!
The scene shifts, and several figures in black cloaks appear deep within the base. They surround a massive black altar, chanting incantations, seemingly performing some kind of sinister ritual. At the center of the altar, a huge black vortex slowly rotates, emanating a chilling aura.
Ning Yu's heart skipped a beat. This aura was exactly the same as the crimson aura before him! Could it be that this mysterious power was the product of a deal between the old forces and something?
Wanting a clearer view, he intensified his control over the crimson aura. The image gradually cleared, and Ning Yu saw a scaly arm emerging from the black vortex. The arm emitted a nauseating stench, indistinguishable from the crimson aura…
"Stop!" The chilling voice echoed in his mind again, filled with fear and rage. "You can't look! This isn't a power you can touch!"
However, Ning Yu had no time to stop. His consciousness was pulled by a powerful suction force and instantly drawn into the scene...
Ning Yu's body was uncontrollably sucked into the scene, and the world before his eyes spun around him as if he had entered a distorted kaleidoscope. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a blood-red space, with a suffocating sense of oppression filling the air.
"Leader!" The team members' anxious voices came from afar, but they sounded muffled, as if separated by a thick barrier. Ning Yu turned his head and saw that the team members' figures were shrouded in a layer of blood-red mist, indistinct and unclear.
"I'm fine, you guys wait for me outside!" Ning Yu shouted back, his voice echoing in the empty space, but unable to penetrate the eerie mist.
He tried to approach his teammates, but every step felt like sinking into quagmire, making progress impossible. Moreover, this blood-red space was filled with violent energy fluctuations, like countless sharp blades constantly cutting into his body.
The intense pain began to blur Ning Yu's consciousness, but his obsession grew stronger. He had to uncover the truth behind this mysterious power, or he would never find peace.
"Leader, this is too dangerous, let's retreat!" The team members' voices grew weaker and weaker as they anxiously called out to Ning Yu, trying to pull him back to reality.
Ning Yu took a deep breath, enduring the excruciating pain, and reached out her hand towards her teammates. "Believe me, I can do it!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he resolutely turned around and walked into the depths of the blood-red space. He knew that the truth about this mysterious power must be hidden there, and perhaps even greater dangers lurked within.
As Ning Yu ventured deeper, the surrounding energy fluctuations grew increasingly violent, as if they could tear him to shreds at any moment. But he did not flinch; instead, he quickened his pace, his eyes gleaming with unwavering determination.
Finally, at the end of the blood-red space, he saw a huge black symbol, silently suspended in mid-air. This symbol emitted a chilling energy fluctuation, as if it were the core of the entire space.
Despite his physical discomfort, Ning Yu approached the enormous black symbol step by step. He reached out, trying to touch the symbol and decipher the secret behind it.
However, just as his fingertips were about to touch the symbol, a powerful energy surge suddenly erupted, sending him flying backward...
"That is..." Blood gushed from Ning Yu's mouth, and his vision gradually blurred, but he still stared intently at the black symbol, his eyes filled with shock and disbelief.
The excruciating pain made Ning Yu's vision go black, and he fell heavily to the ground, feeling as if every bone in his body had shattered. The taste of blood filled his mouth, but he was too weak to cough, and could only let the warm liquid slide from the corner of his mouth. He struggled to stand up, but found that his body was no longer under his control.
"Leader!" came the anxious shouts of the team members from outside the mist, their voices still distant, as if they were trapped in another world.
Ning Yu smiled weakly. He knew his situation was terrible, but he couldn't give up, at least not until he understood the truth. He forced himself to lift his head, enduring the excruciating pain, and his gaze fell once again on the huge black symbol.
The symbol remained suspended silently in mid-air, radiating a chilling energy fluctuation. However, in Ning Yu's perception, this energy fluctuation was no longer a pure sense of oppression, but rather more like a greedy devouring, a cold-blooded plunder.
He tried hard to recall what he had seen, attempting to find any clue. Suddenly, he remembered that before he was thrown back, he seemed to have seen some blurry shadows flash around the symbol. Those shadows twisted and struggled, as if they were enduring great pain.
Ning Yu's heart clenched, and a terrifying thought surfaced in his mind. He endured the excruciating pain, struggled to his feet, and stumbled toward the place where those shadows had appeared.
