A fierce wind howled, sand and stones flew, and the once clear sky was now as black as if splashed with ink. Ning Yu stood on high ground, the camp behind him brightly lit, the training slogans still deafening, but everyone's face now held a more grim and murderous air. Mu Xue stood beside him, putting down her binoculars. "They're here."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a black torrent appeared on the distant horizon, rushing towards them like a river bursting its banks. Amidst the dark mass of people were all sorts of strange weapons, gleaming with a cold metallic luster—killing machines forged from the fusion of technology and supernatural abilities.
"Everyone, prepare for battle!" Ning Yu's voice rang out in the gale, his tone firm and unquestionable.
The next second, deafening artillery fire resounded through the sky. Various energy projectiles streaked across the night like a meteor shower, crashing down on Ning Yu's camp with devastating force. Explosions, screams, and the clanging of metal mingled together, creating a tragic symphony of the apocalyptic battlefield.
Although Ning Yu's troops were prepared, they were still caught off guard by such a fierce attack. Their fortifications teetered on the brink of collapse under the enemy's artillery fire, and soldiers fell one after another in pools of blood.
"Leader, there are too many enemies, we can't hold on much longer!" A soldier covered in blood staggered up to Ning Yu and shouted anxiously.
A cold glint flashed in Ning Yu's eyes. He drew his long sword from his waist and raised it high. "Pass on my order: everyone, follow me and kill!"
Amidst the deafening battle cries, Ning Yu led the charge, guiding his team into the enemy ranks. His figure moved like a ghost through the crowd, each swing of his blade claiming a life. Mu Xue followed closely behind, her dagger gleaming like a venomous snake, reaping the lives of her enemies.
However, the enemy's offensive surged like a relentless tide, wave after wave, seemingly endless. Just then, a blinding light suddenly appeared in the center of the battlefield, and a colossal figure slowly emerged from the light; with each step it took, the earth seemed to tremble…
"What is that thing..." A soldier looked at the huge figure, his eyes filled with fear, and his weapon fell to the ground.
"Everyone, hold the line, ranged attacks!" Ning Yu's voice was like a stabilizing force, briefly suppressing the fear in everyone's hearts. Under his command, the soldiers quickly adjusted their formation, unleashing a barrage of various supernatural attacks as if they were free, temporarily repelling wave after wave of enemy attacks.
However, the enemy's offensive was exceptionally fierce. Their coordinated attacks were like a storm, wave after wave, giving Ning Yu and his men no chance to catch their breath. They seemed to know Ning Yu's team inside and out, each attack precisely hitting the weak points of the defenses. One fortification after another collapsed amidst the explosions, and the defensive line was gradually compressed.
"This can't go on!" Ning Yu was extremely anxious as he looked at the horrific scene before him. He knew that they had to deal with the enormous figure that had suddenly appeared as soon as possible, or their entire army would be wiped out.
He took a deep breath, a resolute glint in his eyes. The next second, he flashed forward, like an arrow released from a bow, rushing towards the enormous figure.
"Leader, be careful!" Mu Xue exclaimed, trying to stop her, but it was too late.
"Hahaha, Ning Yu, you've finally come out!" A chilling voice came from the huge figure, filled with undisguised killing intent.
Ning Yu ignored the other party's provocation. He quickly formed hand seals, and a dazzling golden light burst forth from his body. Within the golden light, a golden longsword slowly emerged. This golden longsword was none other than the treasure he had recently acquired—the Dawnbreaker Sword.
"Break!" Ning Yu roared, and the Dawnbreaker Sword, carrying a world-destroying power, slashed towards the enormous figure.
"A mere trick!" The enormous figure let out a cold laugh. Suddenly, the space around it twisted, forming a black vortex that swallowed up Ning Yu's attack.
Ning Yu was startled. Before he could react, the black vortex suddenly exploded, and a powerful force sent him flying.
"Cough cough..." Ning Yu fell heavily to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"Ning Yu, do you still think you're the invincible Ning Yu you used to be? We've already laid a trap for you, and today is your death day!" The cold voice rang out again, full of smugness and mockery.
Ning Yu struggled to stand up, only to find that all the bones in his body seemed to be broken, and the excruciating pain rendered him unable to move. He looked up and saw that he was trapped in an array composed of countless runes.
"This is... the Dragon Trapping Formation!" Ning Yu's expression changed drastically. He knew that he was probably doomed this time.
"Kill!" The chilling voice rang out again, filled with intense killing intent. The next second, countless attacks came from all directions, engulfing Ning Yu's figure...
Mu Xue watched this scene from afar, her eyes filled with despair. She desperately tried to rush over, but the soldier beside her held her back tightly. "Let go of me! I have to save him!"
"Captain, calm down! Rushing in now is suicide!" The soldier, his eyes red, held onto Mu Xue tightly, preventing her from going to her death.
Mu Xue struggled a few times, then collapsed weakly to the ground, two lines of tears streaming down her face. She murmured to herself, "Ning Yu..."
Seeing Ning Yu trapped, the enemy launched an even more frenzied attack. Ning Yu's troops were forced into retreat under the enemy's fierce assault, and the defensive line was on the verge of collapse. An even greater crisis was approaching...
"Captain, what should we do now? Our leader..." A soldier covered in blood asked, his voice trembling as he looked at Ning Yu, who was trapped in the distance. Mu Xue bit her lip tightly, her eyes bloodshot. Ning Yu was trapped, and the enemy's offensive was so fierce. Despair filled her heart, but she knew she couldn't fall. She was the vice-captain of this team, the person Ning Yu trusted most. She had to hold on!
