Chapter 114 Old problems remain unresolved, new worries arise.

After watching Mu Xue and the others leave, Ning Yu took a deep breath, once again mobilizing the little supernatural power he had left, and carefully approached the energy vortex.

This time, he did not rashly use his supernatural abilities to touch it. Instead, he concentrated his mind and tried to use his perception to capture the fluctuations inside the energy vortex.

However, before he could get close, an invisible suction force struck again, as if to devour him. Ning Yu gritted his teeth, desperately resisting the suction force while trying to maintain the stability of his perception.

Gradually, he seemed to sense a peculiar fluctuation, hidden beneath the violent energy, appearing and disappearing intermittently, extremely weak, yet carrying an indescribable sense of familiarity.

Just as he was about to investigate further, he suddenly heard Mu Xue's anxious voice coming from afar: "Ning Yu, something bad has happened! The surrounding terrain has been affected by this energy, there's nowhere to hide!"

Ning Yu's heart sank, and he abruptly opened his eyes, only to find that the familiar scenery had completely changed. The earth was cracked, mountains were collapsing, and the once lush forests were now just bare tree trunks, swaying precariously in the gale. And those energy vortexes, like demons reveling wildly in this apocalyptic scene, exuded an aura of destruction.

"Could it be..." Ning Yu's pupils suddenly contracted, and a terrifying thought flashed through his mind.

Just then, from behind a huge rock in the distance, a pair of cold eyes were watching everything...

Behind the boulder, a figure draped in a black cloak slowly straightened up, revealing a sinister face. His name was Xie Feng, Ning Yu's former adversary, and one of the remnants of the supernatural organization that Ning Yu had personally destroyed.

"Boss, it seems even the heavens are on our side!" A burly subordinate beside Xie Feng whispered, his voice brimming with excitement. "This energy is so strange; those Ning guys definitely won't be able to handle it!"

"Don't underestimate him," Xie Feng glanced at him coldly, "That guy is no pushover, otherwise we wouldn't be here..."

He paused, seemingly unwilling to recall that humiliating past.

"Pass the word down and keep a close eye on their movements," Xie Feng said in a low voice, his eyes flashing with a venomous light. "This energy came about suspiciously. Let's observe and wait until they are both exhausted before making our move!"

"Yes!" The subordinate accepted the order and turned to disappear into the pile of rocks.

Xie Feng gazed at the figures struggling in the raging energy in the distance, a cruel sneer curling his lips. He could almost see Ning Yu and the others being devoured by the energy, his heart filled with a sense of vengeful pleasure.

"Ning Yu, let's see how you fight me this time!" he roared through gritted teeth, his voice filled with deep-seated hatred.

An energy storm raged, sending sand and stones flying and blotting out the sun. Ning Yu stood in the gale, his clothes fluttering in the wind, his usually resolute face now showing a hint of solemnity.

"Is that the only thing I can do..." he murmured to himself, his right hand unconsciously touching his chest, where there was a warm jade pendant that emitted a faint warmth.
