Chapter 122 Internal Strife Pending Collapse, Single-handedly Saving the Day

Some of the previously wavering members began to reconsider Ning Yu's proposal. Looking at this young yet charismatic leader, a flame of hope ignited in their hearts...

Silence spread like a spider's web, weighing heavily on everyone's hearts. However, Ning Yu's words were like a flash of lightning in the darkness, illuminating the uncertain path ahead. The first to break the silence was Zhang Tao, one of the most senior members of the team, who had previously been skeptical of Ning Yu's leadership. He slowly stood up, his voice tinged with guilt: "Ning Yu, I misunderstood you before, but I promise you, from today onward, I will fully support your decision!"

Zhang Tao's words were like the first domino to fall, and more and more members stood up to express their support for Ning Yu. They realized that at this critical juncture, infighting would only hasten their demise. The antagonism between the hardliners and the peacemakers gradually eased, replaced by a determination to unite and overcome the difficulties together.

Seeing this, Ning Yu's lips curled into a relieved smile. He knew that this crisis had not only failed to break them, but had instead made them stronger. He turned to look at Mu Xue, his eyes filled with gratitude and trust.

Mu Xue nodded in understanding, walked to the conference table, and began to methodically arrange the next tasks. She divided the team into several groups, each responsible for intelligence gathering, border defense, logistical support, and other tasks. At the same time, she also began to prepare a counterattack plan, ready to deliver a fatal blow when the new force showed any weakness.

"Report! Border patrol has spotted 'Steel Teeth's' advance team!" A communications officer rushed in, breaking the tense atmosphere in the meeting room.

“It seems ‘Steel Teeth’ is trying to test our strength,” Ning Yu’s eyes flashed with a cold light. “Send the order down: all troops are to enter a state of first-level combat readiness and prepare to engage in battle!”

The order was swiftly relayed, and the entire base immediately went on high alert. Soldiers rushed to their respective combat posts, checked their weapons and equipment, and stood ready for battle. As night fell, flames soared into the sky along the border, and the shouts of battle were deafening…

Meanwhile, at a secret outpost hundreds of kilometers away from Ningyu Base, the leader of the new force was listening with great interest to his subordinates' report.

"What? Ning Yu's forces haven't collapsed; in fact, they've become even more united?" The leader's tone was full of surprise. He put down his wine glass, his brows furrowing slightly. "It seems we underestimated him..."

In the dim light, the leader, a man known as "Shadow Blade," crushed the wine glass in his hand, the scarlet liquid dripping from between his fingers and blooming into eerie flowers on the ground. He had originally thought that Ning Yu's forces, after that turmoil, would be as vulnerable as a sandcastle, easily manipulated by him. But now it seemed that this tough nut to crack was even harder than he had imagined.

"Leader, what should we do now?" Standing beside Shadow Blade, a burly man with a hideous scar on his face asked in a low voice. He was Shadow Blade's second-in-command, known as "Mad Bear," renowned for his strength, and one of the few superhumans in the new force who could rival Ning Yu.

Shadowblade remained silent. He walked to the wall and activated a massive electronic map. The map was densely covered with various markers, representing the distribution of different forces within the region. Among them, the red marker representing Ning Yu's forces was particularly striking, resembling a blazing flame radiating intense heat.

“It seems our previous plan needs to be adjusted…” Shadowblade extended a finger, lightly sliding it across the map, finally stopping at the red marker representing Ning Yu’s base. “Pass down the order to intensify intelligence gathering on Ning Yu. I need to know their every move! Also, have the ‘Night Owl’ team prepare; I’m going to give them a ‘big gift’…”

Shadowblade's voice was icy and chilling, like a cold wind from the deepest hell, causing everyone present to shiver involuntarily. They knew that an even greater storm was about to break.

Meanwhile, within Ning Yu's base, the atmosphere was exceptionally tense. Despite successfully resolving the internal conflicts, the threat from the new force remained like a sharp blade hanging over their heads, preventing them from relaxing their vigilance.

“The advance force of ‘Steel Teeth’ has been repelled, but they will definitely come back again,” Mu Xue said, standing in front of the conference table and pointing to the red arrows on the map, which were the possible routes of attack by the new forces. “We must be fully prepared and not give them any opportunity to take advantage of us.”

Ning Yu nodded, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, and said in a deep voice, "I've decided..."
