Chapter 126 Decisions in Doubt, Proving Their Rightness

"Nonsense!" Ning Yu roared. He knew Mu Xue's physical condition better than anyone. At this moment, she should be resting and recovering in the rear, not standing here trying to be brave.

"Don't forget, I'm part of this team too!" Mu Xue looked at Ning Yu stubbornly, her eyes resolute. "I can't just stand by and watch you fight so hard in front of us while I hide in the back and live a life of ignominy!"

Mu Xue's words were resounding, and the surrounding team members fell silent. They admired Mu Xue's courage and were also moved by Ning Yu's concern.

“Alright!” Ning Yu didn’t try to stop her anymore. He knew Mu Xue’s personality; once she made up her mind, she would never easily change it. He held Mu Xue’s hand tightly and said firmly, “We’ll fight side by side!”

Mu Xue's participation in the battle greatly boosted the morale of the other team members. They saw the determination of their leader and deputy leader to fight side by side, and their fighting spirit was ignited. The fear and unease they had felt due to the monster's fierce attack also disappeared.

Under the leadership of Ning Yu and Mu Xue, the team members unleashed unprecedented combat power. They cooperated seamlessly and used flexible tactics to divide and surround the monsters, defeating them one by one.

"Boom!" With the last monster crashing to the ground, the battle finally came to an end.

The villagers emerged from the shelter, their eyes filled with sorrow as they looked at the devastated village, but even more so with relief at having survived the catastrophe.

"We won!" a young team member shouted excitedly, and the other team members cheered, celebrating this hard-won victory.

However, Ning Yu showed no joy. He looked at the monster corpses lying in pools of blood, his brows furrowed. He knew this battle was just the beginning; a greater crisis lay ahead.

"Leader, what should we do next?" A squad leader walked up to Ning Yu, his tone filled with awe. He had previously had doubts about Ning Yu's decision to risk changing the defensive strategy, but now he had to admit that Ning Yu's decision was correct. If it weren't for Ning Yu's decisive action, they would not have been able to withstand the monsters' frenzied attack.

"Clean up the battlefield, treat the wounded, strengthen vigilance, and prepare for the next wave of attacks!" Ning Yu said calmly. He looked around, his sharp eyes sweeping across every corner as if searching for something.

As night deepened, the once bustling battlefield gradually returned to calm, with only flickering firelight illuminating the tired yet resolute faces of the people.

"You seem very worried?" Mu Xue walked to Ning Yu's side, handed him a kettle of water, and asked softly.

Ning Yu took the water, took a sip, then shook his head and said in a low voice, "I just have a bad feeling about these monsters..."

Before he could finish speaking, a chilling roar suddenly came from afar, filled with anger and hatred, sounding particularly jarring in the silent night sky.

Ning Yu and Mu Xue's expressions changed, and they both looked up in the direction from which the sound came. They saw... at the edge of the distant woods, pairs of scarlet eyes flickered in the darkness, as eerie and terrifying as will-o'-the-wisps.

"Oh no! There are more monsters!" a sharp-eyed team member exclaimed.

Ning Yu's heart sank. Just as he expected, these monsters had not completely retreated, but were hiding in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity.

"All personnel on alert!" Ning Yu gave the decisive order, his voice echoing in the silent night sky.

The exhausted team members immediately gripped their weapons, formed a defensive formation, and nervously watched what lay ahead.

More and more scarlet eyes appeared, densely packed, almost filling the entire edge of the forest, sending chills down one's spine. Accompanied by heavy footsteps and terrifying growls, one after another, even larger monsters emerged from the forest.

These monsters were taller and more imposing than those that had appeared before, their bodies covered in thick scales, their sharp claws and teeth gleaming coldly, exuding a suffocating sense of oppression.

"What...what kind of monster is this?!"

"How can there be so many?!"

Some of the new team members couldn't help but gasp when they saw such a horrifying sight, their faces filled with terror.

"Don't panic! Maintain formation!" Ning Yu shouted, trying to calm the troops.

"Roar!" A monster of exceptionally large size roared to the sky, its deafening roar seeming to tear the night sky apart. It strode heavily toward the crowd, snapping trees and shaking the ground violently in its wake.

"attack!"

Ning Yu roared and launched the first attack. A dazzling bolt of lightning shot out from his hand and instantly struck the monster that was charging at the front.

"boom!"

With a deafening roar, lightning exploded on the monster's body, sending blue-white arcs of electricity flying everywhere and illuminating half the night sky. However, shockingly, this lightning attack, powerful enough to char an ordinary monster, only left a scorched mark on the creature's body.

"What?!" Ning Yu's pupils suddenly contracted, and his heart was filled with shock. This monster's defense was terrifying!

"roar!"

Enraged, the monster let out a deafening roar and charged at Ning Yu again, this time even faster than before.

"Watch out!" Upon seeing this, Mu Xue's expression changed drastically. She flashed and stood in front of Ning Yu, her long sword transforming into a cold light as she faced the monster.

"when!"

With a piercing clang of metal against metal, Mu Xue felt an overwhelming force surge towards her, nearly causing her to drop her longsword and involuntarily stagger backward.

"Xue'er!" Ning Yu quickly helped Mu Xue up and asked with concern, "Are you alright?"

Mu Xue shook her head, her expression grave as she looked at the monster, and said in a deep voice, "These monsters... are different from the ones before!"

Ning Yu took a deep breath and said with a determined look, "It seems we need to prepare for a tough battle tonight."

As soon as he finished speaking, the monsters surged forward like a tide, surrounding them completely...
