The cave entrance was shrouded in a dark shadow, like the gaping maw of a giant beast, inspiring awe and fear. Ning Yu took a deep breath and lowered his voice: "Be careful, stay close to me." With that, he stepped into the cave first.
A heavy pressure instantly descended, as if an invisible giant hand was pressing down on them, making the team members' steps heavy. The further they went, the stronger the oppressive feeling became, and the air became damp and cold, mixed with a hint of decay.
"Watch out!" A cry of alarm suddenly came from the back of the group. Ning Yu turned around sharply and saw countless sharp stone spikes falling rapidly from the cave ceiling, like a dense rain of arrows.
"Scatter!" Ning Yu shouted, simultaneously activating his supernatural ability. A pale blue light shield instantly opened, protecting him and several team members around him. Clanging and clattering sounds filled the air as the stone spikes struck the light shield, instantly shattering into powder.
However, the other team members were not so lucky. Despite their quick reflexes, several were unable to dodge in time and were cut by the spikes. One team member suffered a deep gash on his arm, and blood instantly stained his sleeve.
"Quick, heal him!" Ning Yu shouted anxiously while maintaining the light shield. A team member with healing abilities immediately stepped forward, placed his hand on the injured teammate's wound, and a faint green light shone, causing the wound to heal at a visible speed.
"Is everyone alright?" Ning Yu looked around and only breathed a slight sigh of relief after confirming that all his teammates were safe. However, his heart sank even further. This was merely the first step into the cave, and they had already encountered such a dangerous trap. What awaited them next?
“Let’s go, let’s keep going,” Ning Yu’s eyes hardened. “We have no way back.” The others nodded, moving forward with even greater caution. However, Ning Yu keenly sensed an invisible force quietly spreading, like an invisible net enveloping them…
Deep within the cave, the air grew increasingly cold and damp, as if permeated with a thousand years of chill. Ning Yu and the others proceeded cautiously, each of them on edge, vigilantly observing their surroundings.
"Wait!" Ning Yu suddenly stretched out his arm, signaling the group to stop. "Do you guys sense anything is wrong?"
An indescribable sense of oppression enveloped them, as if an invisible force was quietly eroding their consciousness. The team members looked at each other, a hint of unease in their eyes.
"I feel... a little dizzy." One of the team members shook his head, his face somewhat pale.
"Me too, it feels like something is interfering with my thoughts..." Another team member's voice also trembled slightly.
The words had barely left his lips when a commotion erupted within the ranks. One member, his eyes bloodshot and his expression ferocious, lunged at his comrade, letting out a beast-like roar: "Die!"
"What's going on?!" Ning Yu was shocked and rushed forward to stop him, only to find that the team member was surprisingly strong and he couldn't subdue him for a while.
"Not good! This force is affecting our minds, causing them to hallucinate!" Mu Xue's expression was grave. She looked around and found that more and more team members were starting to act strangely and were attacking each other.
"Quick! Find a way to wake them up!" Ning Yu shouted anxiously.
Mu Xue acted decisively, activating her own special ability. A soft white light emanated from her body, attempting to dispel the evil power enveloping the team members.
"Wake up! Don't be fooled!" Mu Xue's voice was full of anxiety and worry as she tried to pull the team members who had gone crazy back to reality.
However, the mysterious force seemed to sense a threat and suddenly became violent, sending a powerful shockwave towards Mu Xue.
"Mu Xue!" Ning Yu exclaimed in alarm, wanting to rush to her aid, but it was already too late.
Mu Xue's body was violently thrown away, crashing heavily onto the hard rocky ground. A mouthful of blood gushed out, staining her clothes red.
"Cough cough..." Mu Xue struggled to stand up, but felt a sharp pain spread throughout her body, and her vision went black.
"Hahaha... You overestimate yourselves!" A cold voice echoed in the cave, tinged with mockery and smugness. "You think you can touch my power?"
Ning Yu was extremely anxious. He rushed to Mu Xue's side, helped her up, and asked anxiously, "How are you? Can you hold on?"
Mu Xue shook her head, her face as pale as paper. With difficulty, she raised her hand, pointed deep into the cave, and said in a weak voice, "Be careful... of that power..."
Before he could finish speaking, Mu Xue's vision went black, and she lost consciousness completely. Ning Yu's heart sank. He knew that the real danger had only just begun... He raised his head, his gaze icy as he looked into the depths of the cave. A powerful aura erupted from him, like that of an enraged lion.
Ning Yu felt as if an invisible hand was gripping his heart tightly. Mu Xue's pale face and weak breathing were like sharp thorns, piercing his heart again and again. He had never hated his powerlessness as much as he did at this moment. The flames of anger burned in his chest, but were half extinguished by intense worry and fear.
"Xue'er, hold on!" he roared, unleashing his supernatural power without reservation in an attempt to resist the mysterious force that was eroding their minds. Golden light burst forth from his body as if it were tangible, colliding with the invisible dark power and stirring up visible energy fluctuations.
Inside the cave, a fierce wind howled, whipping up sand and stones. The team members struggled painfully, but they couldn't escape the control of that force. Instead, the impact of Ning Yu's powerful strength only intensified their suffering. Some of the weaker members even began foaming at the mouth, on the verge of collapse.
